Extreme Liberal: This is a must see, vintage smackdown of the “firebaggers.” Lawrence O’Donnell and Ezra Klein educate the foaming at the mouth “progressives” Jane Hamsher, Adam Green and some other firebagger wanna-be named Mike Roger Hodge. Watch and enjoy!

Good grief, these Firebaggers truly are clueless 😳

For christsake, why don’t Jane Hamsher and Adam Green switch and become Republicans? They’re repeating the same talking points that the Republicans use, especially Hamsher calling us “Obamabots” and “dumb motherfuckers.”

Exactly! I say all three of them: Green, Hamsher and Hodge should become Republicans since they do admire Republicans so much. Here we have a President who thoroughly defeated Republicans and they have the audacity to question his political skills? Look, I’ve been around for some time now. And, other than the LBJ landslide of 1964, no other Democratic Presidential candidate has won such an impressive victory as President Obama did. In our “United States of Amnesia,” people conveniently forget that Bill Clinton, in both of his elections never won 50% of the of popular vote. If you don’t believe me, check out the record. In his first election he won slight over 43% in popular vote. For his re-election he won 49.6% of the popular vote. Yet no one consistently challenged his legitimacy. Besides, Bill Clinton, a leader of DLC, was as as conservative as they come. so where was the outrage of these” holier than thou progressives?”

Even though LO was good about asking these pretend, self serving progressives, about which president ever used the so called “bully pulpit” to shame Republicans in changing their votes, the fact that he invited three pretend progressives against one wish washy progressive, Ezra Klein, is disturbing to me. There are many intelligent, pragmatic progressives that LO could have invited to counter these self serving idiots who are clueless about history and the way the political system functions. I am sorry, but LO has been aiding and abating these con artists who claim to speak for the base of the Democratic party when they have absolutely no clue about the real base of the Democratic party.

It appears to me that the folks on this panel all feel as if they are the President’s Supervisor and that he better listen to them because they are just so smart and he doesn’t know what he is doing. Hamsher is always comparing PBO to Pres. Bush – Really Jane – Really?
That whole debate was stupid because whatever plan Klein thought he knew every detail of – sure was not the deal made! Lawrence said he will have them on again – I will be sure to miss it!!!

I won’t be watching Hamsher and Green either—-ever. And I didn’t need LOD having Bill Maher on his program tonight to share how “disappointed” he is with President Obama. Too bad Maher isn’t president because I just know he would have whipped everyone and everything into shape by now, no problem. And every time I think some anchor, like LOD, might be ok, telling some truths, doing a good job, then Wham! Bam!—-they have a segment or a guest to counteract all that positivity. It’s like an illness with this media. They can’t stand success. They always have to balance the positive with the negative, for some reason. Can’t have those people TOO happy. Ugh.

      • July 26, 2011 at 9:21 pm

I know, I was so sorry I watched. Maher is so superior, smug, arrogant. Like you said – they all can do the job so much better and they know just what should be done – well for the life of me I don’t understand why they all just don’t run for President themselves. Why are they depriving us all of their superior knowledge.
He also had that awful Howard Fineman on. Time to take a break from Last Word.

I was thinking the same thing has I listened to these “know it all” persons…where were their “smart asses” when Clinton was in office?

These people are so Old News. Right now we should be encouraging everyone to flood the Congress with our position on the IMPORTANT matters at hand…1) Raise the debt ceiling. 2) Work on our debts and revenues.

      July 26, 2011 at 7:47 pm

Right, we need to flood these Teapugs in Congress with emails, phonecalls and faxes. They need to know that we will NOT stand for their political silliness anymore!

The President and the Democratic are the ONLY TALKING HEADS we should be paying attention to.

          July 26, 2011 at 8:02 pm

True, but the Teapugs need to feel the pressure and heat so that they quit playing these political games. The more we fax, email and call them, the more likely it is that some of them will fold under pressure from hearing from so many of us.

Oh, I agree about letting the teapugs and all repugs know our feeling. I’m saying to turn our energies away from these media talking heads who do nothing but stir things and distract us from our mission. Doing as the President ask us to do. Let our voices be HEARD!

Firebaggers are a useless waste of space. Wish they’d just disappear: “The poor should not be used as a shield for the rich [getting more]” Bitch, your face shouldn’t be used as a shield from how damned ugly and disgusting you are. And you’re one to talk about the rich! How much does that macabre spectacle you call a face cost you? How much botox and shit did you jam into your face in an attempt to look mildly decent?Answer: too damned much, especially since you wound up looking shittier than god intended. You look like the love child of Freddie Krueger and the Bride of Chuckie. How about spending some of that money on good weave? Your hair looks like something two cats were pissing in then left for dead. You and your band of idiots are sick freaks who need to be looked the hell up. Nasty ass bitch.

      July 26, 2011 at 7:53 pm

Not to mention that Hamsher worked with Grover Norquist, who wants to protect the rich and corporate jet owners. Who is this bitch to say she cares for the poor, when she has her head up Norquist’s ass?

She’s a nasty lying two faced bitch, no different from Rush Limbaugh. As Deaniac83 over at TPV points out, at least Rush Limbaugh has the balls to say he hopes that Obama fails.

These firebaggers are a waste of space. “The poor should not be used as a shield for the rich [getting more]” Really???!!!!! No shit Sherlock. Now you’re “concerned” about the poor. How about when she and Green were duping suckers into donating to their cause. Not so they could help the poor, not so they could donate to progessive camps, not so they could expose GOP lies; but to bash President Obama and spread humdingers of lies and falsities about the work his administration has achieved and also to line their coffers with peoples hard earned money. These assholes are pathetic bottom feeding scum.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Hamsher used some of that money to help Grover Norquist protect the rich and the corporate jet owners, but here she is bloviating about protecting the poor. Fucking BITCH!

    • July 26, 2011 at 8:44 pm

They don’t care about the poor. When its a face off between left and right ideology, the left will choose ideology every time while the rest of us are just collateral damage. How many times have they shown that they would dump a deal that would help millions just so they can stick it to the rich or Republicans?

I can’t watch it, Adam Green oozes such contempt and anger when he speaks……the guy needs a therapist and to get a grip. Jane Hamsher is a grifter and political fraud….cut from typical Republican cloth, IMO. I have no time for either of them.

  7. July 26, 2011 at 8:15 pm

I don’t have cable TV so that was a rare time that I’ve seen these idiots bloviating and it will be the last. I don’t know how everyone can sit in front of their TVs and watch this hideous self-righeous bullshit night after night after night. It’s toxic manipulative garbage. No wonder every single day at a certain hour the entire internet is full of people screaming about these shows and what stupid thing someone just said. I could set my watch by it. Sorry for the rant but I have no tolerance for this crap. It’s full of self-serving oversimplification and posturing. I’ts a bad circus and I think it’s ruining our ability to think and govern.

I ‘m on your page Meta. Garbage in, garbage out. There are other sources for reliable information…..I don’t want to support their ratings, and I certainly do not want to pay a cable provider to then turn around and ingest this bajahumma. That’s like paying someone to feed you shit.

I can’t even watch it even if Ezra Klein and Lawrence put them in their places. The best way to do that is to NOT have them on at all.

Ezra still managed to get his little nastiness regarding PBO and the White House. I didn’t watch the show because I can’t stand these persons…I should not have looked at the clip.

  9. July 26, 2011 at 8:30 pm

I know we’ve gotten our marching orders from President Obama to flood Capitol Hill leaders with pressure to raise the debt ceiling. And we’ve got to continue to keep the heat on until we get a victory. BUT-T-T, didn’t we also say we would flood MSNBC and other PLers with voices of resistance when they brought the likes of Hamsher, Green, and Greenwald on to speak for Democrats or the President’s base?

HOW DARE THEY put those lying con artists/turncoats/thieves on a panel discussion knowing what has been revealed about their true allegiance –the Republican Party–and their disgusting acts of thievery. Those despecable con artists are not credible as spokepersons for the left, liberals, or true progressives. They are not even credible as pundits!

I’m not watching. I just ate.

We need to stay focused and keep the pressure on Congress. Not just for today but until they pass a debt ceiling resolution for the President to sign.

You know when I say that I am not watching something when that person or persons are stating negative and toxic words toward President Obama, I am not. I turned LOD off when Bill Mahler opened his mouth simply because he started in on the President unfairly. Who does he think appointed him as the Chief Monitor for us to try to Shame the President? Not me. So I turned to C-SPAN to watch the hearing of the confirmation of the next Joint Chief of Staff. Then McCain started with his garbage, and I turned from that. I came to our site here and I watched the faces of these people and tried to listen, and I said to myself, hell I am 66 years of age and have seen more Presidents in action than these foolish kids. I do not have time for this mess, and I feel that LOD gets it right, then his producers turn the page on us, and they start this shit all over again. Do you all know how many wonderful, bright, really reaasonable and intelligent young people(some are right here in our family) that LOD and Company could have on his program? Do we want these people speaking for us or against our President with no good reason but to divide us? Hell no. We are tired of this toxic atmosphere. We have been given a gift in our President, and we will not waste it on these fools. There is not point to their comments when we know that seniors will not have their earned checks coming; we will not be able to pay our bills etc., we have better things to ACTUALLY do than allow these foolish, selfish evil talking heads waste our family time. We were told to tell our Senators, and Representatives what we want, so let us keep doing that. Now that is all your granny is going to say tonight, and I do apologize if I stepped out of line in my comments. Do not allow these foolish people tear you all away from your futures that this President is trying so hard to work with you on. Not Now, Please. I love you all so much, and I want so much for you all. I just going to listen now. I love you all back so much, HZ

    • July 26, 2011 at 10:37 pm

Amen, HZ. You are an enduring source of kindness and strength. Thanks so much for the wisdom and you are exactly right, we shouldn’t let their lies tear us down. PBO is working hard for us and we must in turn work hard for him too. Blessings, HZ.

    • July 26, 2011 at 10:47 pm

HZ, I am right there with you on this. I don’t understand why everything on TV has to be so endlessly destructive and ugly. Its not healthy. I think our lucky stars that PBO stays incredibly positive every single day. Michelle probably also has a lot to do with that because she is also a very bright source of energy.

I watched the video, but what is up with the attitudes of these young rethuglicans? I could really watch the cartoon character that is name Jane, the watch she uses her mouth and the hair cut are comical at best. Two negatives make a positive and them and Rush limpdick are working the shame schlmil.

I posted this over at TOAITR too but thought this discussion was another excellent place to post this piece written by my friend “madamesilverspurs” she has given me permission to share it . It was a reply to someone online who claimed to be ashamed of the President, I think she’s done a marvelous job of telling it like it is:

” I am NOT ashamed of this President.

He is, like me, imperfect; thus I have never expected or demanded perfection from him. Just as I have not agreed with all of his decisions, there have been times when I have intensely admired his forbearance in the face of unrelenting horseshit. Where I would have left a trail of black eyes and bloody noses, he has met his tormentors with rare equilibrium and exquisite class — and there are many on the left who would do well to consider that demeanor and be thankful for it.

I also accept the fact that he has a remarkably keen intellect with which he evaluates that information that is not necessarily available to the rest of us. He has been places I will never go, he has studied things that are far beyond my ken, he has endured presuppositions to which I will never, ever be subjected. He has overcome barriers that would cripple others, and daily confronts the smirking racism that insists it’s anything but. With all that, he still understands that he is President of a country comprised of people of varying political persuasions. He gets the importance of that reality.

There are those who are worthy of great shame. They pass themselves off as public servants elected to represent their entire constituencies, yet they clearly and blatantly serve only those in their own party. Their commitment is not to the country, but to their own quests for power. They pledge their allegiance to the very ideas and persons who have brought us to the edge of this pit. They answer to voices on the radio and gladly adjust agendas to avoid pissing them off. They disrespect the office by proudly spitting on the man who occupies it. They routinely dis good-faith efforts, blow off invitations in favor of drinks with cronies, think nothing of engaging in schoolyard taunts and name-calling. When they do that stuff they are worthy of our disgust, our revulsion, our embarrassment that these creatures are what the world sees when they look at our country.

And because the President doesn’t act like that, we’re supposed to be ashamed of him?

Not THIS Democrat. Not now, not ever. “
