These people and their all consuming hate. Always telling white people to fear the “other.” The boogeyman under your bed is that black man who wants to turn America into a welfare state for his black friends. The boogeyman under your bed is the LGBT individual who will stand next to your child and presto! your child becomes LGBT. The boogeyman under your bed is the Latino or Asian who is inferior to the white race and will take all our jobs if we don’t kick them out of the only home they’ve known all their lives. It failed before and it will fail again, because we won’t let them get away with it. Keep HOPE alive! OBAMA/BIDEN 2012.

OT. but not really, because racism and hatred are all consuming for some folk. This chart should go far and wide. It lays it out for all to see re: the debt ceiling issue. GOP Senators Loved Raising The Debt Ceiling Until…

Plus, I love the website name and tagline: News Corpse: The Internet’s Chronicle of Media Decay

I just needed to share this. Careful, your BS meter might possibly explode:

“You lament in your book “Race Matters” that there’s a lack of black leadership. You’re smart, very charismatic — why did you never become what we would consider a black leader in the mold of Martin Luther King or Malcolm X?

Well, one, it’s because we live in an age where there are no movements. But second, and most important, I have to be true to my calling. Martin King’s calling was to be a Christian preacher. Mine is much more linked to the life of the mind and being able to move back and forth. This weekend I was with Bootsy Collins at B.B. King’s. We wrote two songs together on his new album — that’s just one context where I try to play a very important role outside the academy. But my calling is still one of being an intellectual warrior and spiritual soldier.”

Did you get that? when asked why he doesn’t step up to the plate like MLK, Cornel West says his calling is to basically be a socialite. Can’t bother with leading because he’s gotta hang with Bootsy at BB Kings. And “intellectual warrior and spiritual soldier”?!!! GTFOH!!

Brooklyn, I saw that over at W.E.E See you. I laughed out loud. What the hell is this supposed to mean?

Mine [my calling] is much more linked to the life of the mind and being able to move back and forth.

      What an idiot.

To quote James Brown “Talkin’ Loud and Sayin’ Nothin’ ….Sayin’ Nothin…” Indeed!

I have no problem with Dr. West being an “intellectual worrier and a spiritual soldier.” My problem with him is when he dishonestly attacks the President who is already under vicious and relentless attacks from white right wingers and the “holier than thou progressives.” If he was truly an “intellectual worrier” he would know that trying to govern this diverse country, while Black, requires tremendous political skills which Dr. West lacks. I respect Black intellectuals and the role they play in expanding our understanding of humanity, and in particular the neglected role of Black humanity, in shaping human culture. But I also know fully well that governing a diverse country, like the United States, requires different skills from those of an Ivy league professor, talk radio host, or public intellectuals called on to comment on news.
