Good morning Chips – Can you tell me how to search for archives in your site? Every now and then I want to see a video you have posed in the past. The sentimentalist in me thrives on seeing what PBO was like before he became known on the world stage. Merci beacoup and mil gracias for this great site! (((tight hugs)))

Also, thanks Chips & to the TOD family for all your comments and links that provides me with the latest news. Since I purposely don’t have cable and barely watch tv, you guys (and gals) provide me with all the positive news. I don’t have the stomach to watch hateful comments re: PBO. I feel like he’s family (altho I’ve never met him, just his sis Maya but very briefly) and I get personally offended with negative comments about him. Does anyone else feel the same way?

Of course we feel the same way, obamalia. That’s why we all spend so much time here on TOD. 🙂 In reference to your question about searching the archives — (I’m not an expert just been a TOD family member since the beginning of the year)– just scroll over to your right and there’s an archive dropdown box near the top of the page. It’s about the third boxes down from the 2012 obama donate logo. You can search for threads/ topics by the month. Good luck. 🙂

I feel the same way Obamalia. I will defend him to ANYONE who is negative about him, even my own family. I have been lucky enough to have seen him very briefly when he was in London and I can honestly say that, with the exception of the day my beautiful son was born, that it was the best day of my life!
I get upset when I see and hear the disrespect levelled at this beautiful man, I have been told that I am wrong to be like this and maybe I am but the bottom line is that I love this man and all he does and wants to do to make the world a better place.

Hiya Obamalia, hope you’re doing great?

The search function on the blog isn’t great, so if there’s ever anything in particular you want to find let me know and I’ll help you.

If you look over at the panel on the right you’ll see the search box – also you can look up stuff by category and date. I need to tidy up those categories, will get around to it one of these days!

    ———-THE MCCONNELL PLAN————-

    WE REPUBLICANS:

    – Can’t make the tough decisions
    – Really don’t want to make the tough decisions
    – Don’t know how to govern
    – Are against anything PBO is for
    – Are more concerned about party over country
    – Have surrendered our judgment to Grover Norquist
    – Are not capable of compromising on anything
    – Are against doing anything that might make PBO look good
    – Can’t say “yes” to anything
    – Don’t know how to lead

    THEREFORE:

We are perfectly willing to abdicate our responsibility to ensure the debts (that we created) of the United States are paid and give that responsibility to President Obama. That way he can raise the debt limit and make the tough decisions and we can sit back and put all the blame on him for our debt and deficit problems.

    BOTTOM LINE:

Our rigid ideology and hatred for President Obama trumps the oath of office we took……

“I, AB, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.”

  3. July 23, 2011 at 8:39 am

I remember clearly the President talking about not wanting to leave a huge debt behind for the next President. So this notion that talking heads have that President Obama doesn’t want a deal is so not true.. I am hoping someone will find that clip and we can post it ASAP.

Also, allen west is blaming his military past on talking so harshly to Rep. DWS.. What a sad little man who can’t even own up to his mistake and bad judgment…

We write West letters and emails. He is a disgrace to our military and to manhood. Put our power in the mail, emails, twitter, and phone calls. I doing them today. No way. Not to any mother, sister, daughter of mine or anyone will he treat any woman that we know of in this manner. Not this time congressman West. Not this time or anytime.

Good morning all. Still soooooooooooooo excited and proud of our brilliant President. He kicked republican butt yesterday. I don’t feel sorry for Boehner. The repugs plotted this strategy months ago. As the President said, they could have extended the debt ceiling six months ago. But the repubs played this delay game trying to gut everything and back the Pres into a corner. Well, he showed them. Try to back him in a corner and he comes out kicking.

Fox is trying to play the “angry black man” lie.

Love my president. He is all kinds of awesome. Can’t wait to see what happens today.

GoodAfternoon Sue. His will be done, we pray. When good men and women surround the President with godly spirits of goodness, love, compassion, patience, gracefulness, helping the poor and the afflicted, helping the oppress and the children in need with kindness, gentleness, and being their brother and sisters; keepers, His will isi being done. The President has shown this. We just continue to lift him up in our prayers and ask boldly for God’s favor in prayer and supplications, we will prevail..

Good weekly address. Reiterates his stance and his unwavering promise to always stand up for the underdogs who don’t have lobbyists and lawyers at the negotiation table brokering deals on their behalves. C-span reaired President Obama’s press briefing at 5:15AM CDT and watching it again impressed upon me how powerful a political punch he delivered. He was clear, he was concise, he was honest and he laid out the truth of the matter bare for all to witness. Anyone watching his briefing had no doubt who in Washington is a true leader. He and democrats had compromised about 80% of the way and only asked for 20%. Republicans due to some messed up, unconstitutional oath and pledge they took could not come to the table and give that 20%. They instead bowed and kowtowed to the cult of Grover Norquist, protected the uber wealthy oh I’m sorry, “job creators” and gave a big heave ho to the rest of us. If people had not listened to the bloviating, ignorant, unintelligent talking heads on tv, they would have come out en masse and voted to keep democrats in power. If Independents – that frustrating, annoying, head scratching 20% that we’re always pandering to, always handholding because they’re wishy washy and can’t seem to decide if they’re democrats or republicans – had voted to keep democrats in power, we wouldn’t have ended up with teabaggers holding the American people hostage over a procedural issue and rendering the government virtually dysfunctional. That press briefing was the shock of ice water ignorant or amnesia ridden Americans needed to WAKE UP and realize that if you are a college student, a woman, a LGBT, a small business owner, a teacher, a firefighter, a police officer, a nurse or affiliated with any labor union, a middle class or working class individual, republicans will NEVER EVER have your best interests at heart. The definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over again. To continuously and cyclically vote these amorality ridden “leaders” into power is akin to causing a self inflicted wound and to put the country that you claim to love with all your heart in deep, deep jeopardy.

Just wanted to mention the horrific events in Norway yesterday. My heart goes out to the people there who have had to suffer greatly due to one man’s derangement syndrome, a home grown Norwegian described as a rt. wing fundamentalist Christian extremist who was enraged about the multi-cultural society that has emerged in Norway. The details of the shooting of teenagers at a camp on the island are so sadistic and cold-blooded, firing away as he posed as a police officer in front of them and then firing at those in the water who had tried to escape by swimming away. It seems to me it is always rt. wing religious nuts who are causing most of the world’s ills everywhere, so full of hate and rage that they lose their grip on sanity.

    • July 23, 2011 at 10:16 am

I agree with 100% dotster…. Its always the right-wing, religious zealots who make it impossible for reasonable people to agree and come together.

When I think of Norway, I think of peace and the home of the Noble Peace Prize and to believe they had someone plotting this for a long period of time is truly amazing and disturbing. How was he able to stockpile these powerful weapons?

This is why I love to read Frank Schaeffer’s works. He reveals the entire story of how these people work and operate within our own government. Look at the many marching around with their crosses, pins, and always talking about what God told them. God does not speak tellling a person to run for President and all of this mocking of God. God is tired of this kind of mess and lying on Him. Payback time is coming for these evil people who are hiding in front of scripture, behind scripture, and over and under scripture. Then you look at their ugly and hateful faces, hateful and vile words coming out of their mouths, and their evil hatching of ways to do evil to President Obama daily. God is not about that. I am going to say it, and if I have to take some hate, so be it. These people are not Christians. They are workers of the most vile and evil elements in this universe. They have fooled themselves. If this is a good show of what Jesus was, then, Lord please have mercy on me. They are hateful, evil, vile liars. There is not goodness or righteousness in any bone in their body. I do not mind saying it. Where is the compassion, the justice, the love, the respect, the caring for one another. They are loud mouth, evil people out there mocking God, and whaterver we believe, God said not to mock him. He will deal with this evil and it ain’t going to be good, believe me.

These sick crazy bastards have one agenda and that is to see to it that this President is a one term President. Even if it means destroying this economy and country. They have been sabotaging this economy. They don’t want to see it improve, because they know they have no chance of beating him then. This debt ceiling crisis is a made up crisis, thanks to that spineless Boehner and those crazy Tea-Republicans.

Anniebella, they will not succeed at trying to make President Obama a one term President. He WILL be re-elected because the power is in our hands. We will prevail. They can and will try to defeat him as we are already seeing, but goodness will overcome evil. Trust and count on it. President Obama will be re-elected as our President. Amen, and Amen, and Amen.
