Greg Sargent: The latest debt ceiling meeting between Obama and Congressional leaders just wrapped up, and a Dem source emails:

“Cantor didn’t say a word the whole meeting.”

(Update: A second Dem source has now confirmed this.)

Let’s see him spin Michelle Bachman’s $4 million that she raised this quarter, half of which was reportedly from the cong bank account.

Not surprising that he’s now pretending to fall in line after that horrible Al and Tipper moment at the repug presser (awkward). They are so transparent.

I would rather not hear these leaks. This is just to embarass Cantor, and while he deserves the ridicule it’s not going to help the negotiations.

Oh stop it! But it is okay for Weasel Cantor to rudely interrupt the President repeatedly during delicate negotiations, then run outside to the corporate media to LIE about the President “storming” out on him?

    • July 14, 2011 at 9:43 pm

That’s the problem – Republicans aren’t embarrassed enough. If they were shamed and called out by their peers and the media more often, we’d have a better government.

I’m going to have to disagree with you on this. PBO and dems have taken a LOT of abuse from republicans since January 2009. There comes a time when one either stands up to the bullies or prepares to keep taking the abuse. IMO, only a real wimp would continue being abused when he/she can put a stop to it. Furthermore, since republicans are always talking about how superior their morals are when compared to everyone else’s, surely, they can understand the Golden Rule.

My rule: don’t dish it if you can’t take it.

GOP Senator: Maybe We Shouldn’t Have Tied Debt Vote To Deficit Deal (VIDEO)

WASHINGTON — Some Republicans are starting to have buyer’s remorse over their party’s insistence that a vote to raise the debt limit be tied to a long-term deficit reduction package.

“Maybe the debt ceiling was the wrong place to pick a fight, as it related to trying to get our country’s house in order,” Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) said Thursday. “Maybe that was the wrong place to do it.”

Speaking from the Senate floor, Corker said Republicans demanded linking the two issues because the Senate hasn’t passed a budget in more than 800 days. “I credit both sides for that,” he said. But now, the inability of the White House and Congress to agree to a spending deal — and ensure a timely debt ceiling increase — is “helping our great nation go into decline.”

So they shut down the rude big mouth, huh?
I wonder who in the GOP put their foot up his behind?
(Sorry, ugly vision for the poor foot that went there.)

Probably no one. I’m thinking someone from Wall St. gave Can’tor a call last night and reminded him that he needs PBO to get the debt limit deal signed, sealed, and delivered.

Lawrence O’Donnell is eviscerating Majority Leader Cantor.

Lawrence O’Donnell has just about eviscerated every uninformed loudmouth that has recently weighed in on this debt ceiling debate – including the PL who were dead silent when Bill Clinton cut certain provisions from medicare and social security.

Cantor didn’t say a word. Do you know that idiot wrote in his H.S. yearbook, I want what I want when I want.
