okay, where were we? (updated)

**** President Obama will hold a news conference at 11 a.m. Friday ****

Wow, that was short.

The Cabinet Room of the White House, July 14

Ooooh, how I wish they provided this type of chair for Cantor in the White House today:

Look at that vile Cantor. Everyone else looks like they’re at least trying to look like they’re engaged. He’s staring straight ahead. A real jerk. The jerkiest of jerks. And that baby chair is too cool for Cantor’s butt. I cannot stand that smug blankety-blank.

      July 14, 2011 at 5:45 pm

Hahahaha. Me thinks he’s looking straight ahead because he got an eloquent top of the line ass whooping from President Obama. In the picture he looks a tad uncomfortable; just as Boehner does. Everyone else is chill and President Obama is laughing. Gosh I love the President’s emotional maturity and even temperament, because God knows I would have lost my mind if Cantor were to rudely interrupt me three times.

OT: The FBI is investigating the Murdoch phone hacking scandal because News Corp is an American owned entity since Murdoch who is originally Australian became an American citizen so he could own American tv stations, film studios and the like. The FBI is investigating if his corporation hacked 9/11 victims families and if they bribed law enforcement officials like they did in Britain. Upon news of the impending investigation News Corp’s shares have tumbled like mad on the stockmarket today. Karma is a BITCH.

I was just gonna say that UT. He’s probably ashamed (one can only hope) and embarrassed. Can you imagine being dressed down by PBO? No matter how you feel about his policy or whatever type of political grandstanding you do in front of the cameras, it must feel absolutely horrible. I think being taken down a notch by him would be worse than one of my mom’s ass whoopings and let me tell you, those were nothing to joke about.

I can’t even stand to look at that thing Eric Cantor.

I agree anniebella. I love the baby in the high chair. I am dying laughing. A little OT, but it appears that Electablog has had enough of Hamsher and FDL. I read his blog everyday.

        • July 14, 2011 at 6:44 pm

I’ve always had enough of Hamsher. She just crossed the line in terms of me doing anything that would ever draw clicks on her site. I apologize to all of you for doing it in the first place. I thought perhaps I could bring something positive there. My intentions were good. But, I’m done.

          • July 14, 2011 at 6:51 pm

Hi there, you tried to do some good by introducing some sanity to the place, that was more than worth a try. Good on you for walking away after today’s bile from Miss BP, she truly has lost the plot.

            July 14, 2011 at 7:20 pm

Well, EB everyone has their breaking point. This was yours and I’m glad you’ve reached the same conclusion many have. The sun doesn’t rise or set for everyone at the same time, so you not giving up on FDL when many pragmati already had is no crime.

I saw the quote on WeeSeeYou this morning and at first, like you, I was livid, but then I remembered this woman can’t even reach her goal of 1000 donors. She’s still stuck at 325. So this lashing out at Obama supporters is nothing but hateration, plain and simple. Any one who would link up with Grover Norquist to scuttle a progressive bill like HCR while claiming to be a progressive isn’t too right in the mind, so Hamsher is a legend in her own mind.

Eclectablog, I truly admire your courage and your integrity. You tried to engage in an honest dialogue, but once you realized that Jane Hamsher is really not about honest dialogue and constructive criticism you decided to no longer give them any legitimacy by posting there. I for one will never fault you for having the courage to try to talk sense to people on that site. I also understand fully why you finally decided that there is no point in wasting your time and energy trying to dialogue with dishonest people. My hope is that may be some of your posts influenced some innocent people on that blog to reconsider their blind allegiance to Jane Hamsher.

  9. July 14, 2011 at 5:52 pm

Not only the chair, Chips, but that Cantor had that much good will beaming out of him. I think we’re going to see something new evolve out of all of this. certainly that more and more people can see the truth about the current GOP, but maybe even a different way of congress doing business. They will need to be creative to get this done.

  10. July 14, 2011 at 5:57 pm

Can someone tell me what does OT mean????

    • July 14, 2011 at 5:59 pm

Hi Luci, it means ‘off topic’ – so, often if someone wants to talk about a new topic in a thread they’ll start their comment with ‘OT’.

Chris Matthews also mocked Romney for touting his business skills, yet 96% of the companies he ran ended up filing for bankruptcy within a few months to a year of Romney pocketing his millions and skeedadling. Chris adviced Democrats to find the people featured in the 1994 video that the Ted Kennedy campaign produced when Romney was running for Senate and use them to speak truth to the public about the real “business” Romney. 2012 here we come!

Oh crikey No Labels co-founder Kiki McLean is on Rev’s panel. But thank goodness she called repubs out. Do not like the fakeness of No Labels but at least she came through today and vigorously defended PBO and the Dems and castigated repubs harshly.

Ron Christie is such an a-hole. His head is stuck so far up the GOP’s ass he can’t tell what day it is. Rev Al told him “Ron, do me favor. Look at the camera and blink. That’s what republicans do. They always blink.” (meaning, their cowards who told PBO to call their bluff and when he replied with a $4 trillion counter-punch, they blinked)

Did you hear Rev Al’s takedown of Illinois congressman Rep. Joe Walsh (R) who called the Preisident a liar and a person who wanted to turn America into a European wasteland, all because PBO said in response to Scott Pelley’s debt ceiling question; that he couldn’t guarantee SS checks being paid out to the recipients on August 3rd if the debt ceiling wasn’t raised. When PBO won the election, Walsh said he only won because “he is an articulate black who has slightly above average intelligence for a black and was able to play up white peoples guilt over slavery to win the election.” Wow ….. just wow. Rev Al said, one can disagree with the POTUS but should never distort his statement and should never bring to the table a plate full of prejudice. He stopped short of calling him an asswipe racist scumbag.

Joe Walsh is my teabagger representative. He may be the dumbest representative in Congress, and that’s saying something, there’s some real stiff competition. Every single TV host loves to have him on to blurt out insanities because that’s what it’s all about, right???? Front page story in our local paper today: “Walsh: ‘President Obama, quit lying’ ” His existence in Congress is a complete embarrassment and an outrage. This was another case where the PL, and others, thought our former Dem rep., Melissa Bean, wasn’t good enough, she got no support, received death threats for her and her family from Joe Walsh’s slow-witted, ugly tea party supporters and many Dems stayed home. Joe Walsh is the result. He has a very sketchy history and is a person with no decency, no shame, no brain.

And people blink when they’re lying.
OT (there it is again)—-but this is a classic at Wonkette re. Michelle Bachmann’s 3rd appearance on FOX this week where she’s babbling—“not about her gay husband” but about no reason to raise debt limit because “we have money to pay it”. What??? What is she even talking about? Bachmann knows better than every economist and people with one working brain cell. She also mispronounced chutzpah, pronouncing it “choot-spa” and convoluted the meaning of the word, obviously having no clue. She is a dumb whacked piece of work.

Personally, I have it as a point of pride when the media get petty like this. It means they’ve search all up and down in POTUS’s and FLOTUS’s business and they got nothing! Janny Scott said what PBO said. Stanley Ann, despite having insurance, still had bills the insurance wouldn’t pay, amounting up to several hundred dollars per month, because they thought she had a pre-existing condition. stanley Ann wasn’t a rich woman; she couldn’t afford several hundred dollars per month in medical bills if she was suffering from ovarian cancer.

          July 14, 2011 at 9:04 pm

That is ridiculous. Grasping at air…really searching. Nothing President Obama said was not true. One of the points he was making is that because she had changed jobs, her cancer than became considered a pre-existing condition…this ties people to their jobs and takes away from them the potential of personal advancement, growth or possible redirection in terms of their employment. It denies the potential of opportunity. And that impact is both personal and social.

My nephew was diagnosed with cancer as an infant, he spent 2 years being treated including a bone marrow transplant. He survived and is healthy at the age of 25. and that is a blessing we are grateful for. But my sister in law lost the option of ever changing jobs,,,because she could not risk not having health insurance, and a change in jobs or profession would have boxed them out of having medical insurance for him, which was a risk they could not afford to take.

Yet another attempt to blow up another “shit-storm”, I’ld be embarrassed if I had authored this pointless waste of time, energy, paper and ink.

When my prayers of lightening striking their asses is answered. When karma hits their asses like a ton of bricks. Possibly when someone, maybe even themselves, is stricken with cancer and needs much medical care. That’s when they will leave OUR PRESIDENT alone. Amen?

I have learned to not pay this type of mess any attention and to see it as the MSM being unable to “best” PBO on whatever topic is currently holding America’s attention. They did this on the birth certificate issue, Rev. Wright, his innocuous comment about the Boston Police Dept and Professor Gates, etc. Someone in the media is trying to shift the focus from the ineptitude and cowardice of the congressional republicans and avoid them being exposed as the non-deficit hawks and shills for Big Business, Big Oil, and wealthy Americans that they are, but I don’t think it’s going to work so well this time around because these discussions on the debt limit, deficit reduction, and the 2012 budget have become very personal for millions of Americans. The republicans have themselves to thank for this by overplaying their hand on these issues in an attempt to harm PBO’s chances at being re-elected in 2012.

Thanks for the link Me4obama. Unfortunately the video didn’t run, but I read the synopsis and got the gist. Cantor thought he could paint the President as a petulant child who walks out of meetings when he’s not getting his way, but the lie backfired and now with us hearing it directly from the horse’s mouth (PBO) that he did not storm out of the meeting and with how viral the video is going to go when Chipsticks can obtain it and when other news outlets run it, Cantor just looks like a national fool.

If she has to “transfer” money from her congressional account, sounds to me like she didn’t raise as much as she wants the public to think she did in this quarter. Leave it to Bachmann to use distortion to pump herself up. Reminds me of Romney’s $10 million haul in one day that wasn’t.
