Steve Benen: …. Last night, Fox News’ Eric Bolling, perhaps best known for his on-air racism, hosted a roundtable discussion on the Republican cable news network. When the subject turned to presidential “fear-mongering,” loyal Bushie Dana Perino said it was “ridiculous” to even bring up her former boss’ bogus claims about weapons of mass destruction and mushroom clouds.

Bolling had her back. (via Oliver Willis):

“Whether they did or didn’t, America was certainly safe between 2000 and 2008. I don’t remember any terrorist attacks on American soil during that period of time.”

No one on the panel interjected. The host then changed the subject.

…. many Americans connected the attacks of Sept. 11 to the phrase “Never Forget.” On Fox News, just two months before the 10th anniversary of 9/11, this has apparently been replaced with “Easily Forget.”

….I realize he’s a shameless partisan activist. I also realize Bolling will say literally anything to try to make Republicans look better, even when they’ve failed spectacularly. But this gem has to belong in the Hack Hall of Fame.

They need a boogeyman, STAT. Because, they are becoming one themselves. So, in the interest of being green, they are recycling.

The hurtful thing is that there are families and children who could refresh all of their memories. These are shameful people. How long will they think that good sense people will continue to tolerate their shamful remarks. Shame. shame, and more shame on these people.

Absoluetly HZ. Shame on them. I saw this on Hardball. How convenient for them to forget 9/11 whenever it’s expedient. GWB used the fear of a repeat 9/11 to run for re-election and they want to point fingers at PBO? Shame on them!

By the way Rev. Al Sharpton is on MSNBC right now and he is fantastic as usual. He is giving buffoon Pat Buchanan hell!!! Thank goodness I have some food in front of me, because this is must watch political theater (the good kind)

Repubs tend to conveniently forget about the Bush years.

You know why they want to forget about the Bush years, because deep down they know he was a sorry President, they know he cause all this debt, they know we are in this crisis because of his eight years. If he was any good they would be throwing it in your face all the time what he did. What can they say that Bush did? So if my President was that darn sorry I would choose to forget it too.
