Damn! I started to watch that show and I opted to cook dinner instead….the guys in the house were moaning! I’ll catch the later version…good for you, Bill!
Yep, and then when he moved to the UK Labour-leaning Daily Mirror he tried to make himself out to be a champion of the ‘working man’ – he’s a fraud, yuck.
i have to agree. It seems as though his whole schtick is a “Line in the sand”. Now he’s got Grayson on to bolster his case. i guess PBO would be okay if he did crazy shit the way Ed would. GRAYSON has decided to run again. Ain’t that just great. Pretty soon we’ll have lots of lines in the sand and still won’t get shit done.
Ed, stick with football and let the Prez ponder interplanetary travel and quantam mechanics.
Grayson should be ashamed of himself – using the President’s 2010 campaign slogan “I’m in!” while encouraging his (Grayson’s) supporters to be angry at and take cheap shots at the President.
When you compare Schutz to O’Donnell, it’s clear who knows politics and how the inner workings or government and who doesn’t.
Lawrence sees exactly what President Obama has been doing (since April) and all Ed can do is run around with his hair on fire, not seeing a long game.
I wish Lawrence would pull Ed aside and explain a few things to him. And for dog’s sake, give him a cup of water and a freakin Xanax.
Oh and Joan concern troll Walsh was on Ed’s show as well. 🙄
When you compare Lawrence and Ed, it’s clear who understands and knows how inner government works and who just loves to run around with his hair on fire.
I wish Lawrence would take a few hours and explain to Ed how things are done. He should probably bring a cup of water and a Xanax.
Oh and Joan concern troll Walsh was there too. 🙄
Bill Maher has been a part of the PL haters of PBO. His account of the President is stunning in this video and a change of pace from his usual bashing. GO figure.
Maher said he loved PBO, but then spent several minutes talking about out diffident PBO is to the repugs and- I’m paraphrasing- that he’s basically doing repug work. He was like, we have a democratic president not doing anything in support of democratic principles, but repug principles. Then he added a whopper: he’s not a democrat and he voted for McCain the first time around and he also voted for Bob Dole. 🙄 Then he quoted Krugman saying that PBO always delivers repug talking points i.e.: protect the rich so they don’t pay taxes. I couldn’t watch anymore. Thats bullshit. Bill Maher needs to shut the frack up. Bastard. 😡
Does he mean that he voted for McCain in 2000, or that he voted for him in 2008? If he voted for him in 2008 – than that makes him highly suspect in my mind.
sorry hopefruit, i should have been more specific, “first time around” meant the first time he ran for president as Ms. Chips clarified: in 2000. Sorry again and thanks Ms. Chips.
I LOVE THIS…ALL OF A SUDDEN ‘THE BLACK MAN’ COMES INTO OFFICE! ‘BINGO’ THAT SAYS IT ALL…REPUBLICAN RACISTS! BACK IN 2008…I REGISTERED A WHITE,ELDER MALE WHO JUST LOVED SEN.OBAMA…HIS QUOTE AT THAT TIME…”SOMEDAY THIS WILL CAUSE A REVOLUTION!”
I think folks are a little too hard on Bill here. While it is true that he can be too hard on PBO, I think is anger and frustration is genuine and more often than not, he stands up for the president and hits the republicans/teabaggers really hard (much harder than PBO BTW). As shown in this video, he calls out the republicans for the obstructionist racists they are.
Say what what you may about Bill Maher but he is not a phony who wants to make money off Obama bashing. I believe that he genuinely likes the president and wishes him well.
I love this site and have been visiting for months. Although I only just started posting, I have always followed the conversation here. I think Chipsticks deserve huge accolades for setting up and maintaining TOD. However, a word of caution: We cannot demonize everybody who says a bad word about the president. There are pundits like Tweety, Bill Maher etc who we all know (or maybe that I know) who truly wish PBO well but would often, on the spur of the moment, say silly things about him. We can chide them and then forgive but what we cannot afford is to continue to blacklist everybody who makes a critical or even rude comment about him.
If we all think about it, PBO will not approve of this. I support the president by adopting his philosophy of open mindedness, broad concensus and willingness to forgive and embrace his enemies. Not just politically, I take PBO as my role model in various facets of my life. I find myself often wondering: “What would Obama do?”. I enjoin us all to take this view.
BTW, this does not apply to the the Glenn Greenbecks, Mark Halperins and the Jane Hamsters (no typo) of this world. I say FUCK THEM ALL!!!
I am a longtime lurker – but I love this site SOOO much. I totally agree with this comment. I also try to live my life by asking “what would Obama do?” I try not to let the highs get too high and the lows get too low. I try to give people who criticize PBO the benefit of the doubt – believe that they are not dumb or crazy, they just see things differently and how can I help them see the light. (This applies to many of my family members.) I literally thank God every night when I pray and list my many blessings – Thank you for giving us Barack Obama at this difficult time and please keep him safe.
This is the reason why I still like and regularly dvr people like Rachel, Bill, Chris and Lawrence. Sure, I might hear stupid things said by them at times, but boy do they deliver the goods more often than not. This group is simply smart. At times emotional, but smart. Ed, however, I never understood why he got the gig. He isn’t terribly smart and he’s full of childish emotions. Folks like him and Grayson are not evil Rethugs, they’re just childish and value tactical fights over a long term strategy like PBO does. Still, I will take them over any Republican.
He’s right on some parts
But I think the debt and deficit matter. There’s a chance that they can finally kept the budget under control. And even better if the economy recovers, there will be more tax revenue. As long as expenditures stay in line, who knows maybe surpluses will return 10 15 years from now.

Love when Bill is on fire!
Me too and it was great watching him tonight.
Damn! I started to watch that show and I opted to cook dinner instead….the guys in the house were moaning! I’ll catch the later version…good for you, Bill!
Yeah, he was on a roll lol
Piers Morgan made his bones where? As Editor of Murdoch’s News of the World. Huh.
Yep, and then when he moved to the UK Labour-leaning Daily Mirror he tried to make himself out to be a champion of the ‘working man’ – he’s a fraud, yuck.
That Ed Shultz is getting on my last nerve! I just switch the channel to HGTV!
I was just going to say the same thing. He has totally lost me. He is a firebagger.
I gave up on Ed, I thought I would give him another chance and tuned in last week and remebered why I stopped watching him.
I think he is a d*ck!

That Joan Walsh is another one I can’t stand.
Ed is working hard for this Republican buddies! In Ed views, President Obama is to be blame for all of the ills of America and the world.
Speak on it, Bill!
Any more video?

He voted for McCain in the 2000 primaries (in opposition to Bush), Hopefruit, and supported President Obama in 2008:

Okay – that’s what I thought. And it makes sense.

I still despise Maher. I probably always will.
I don’t watch Bill Maher.
