Gosh…. Rusty looks like he’d rather be anywhere but at the whitehouse. He looks ready to tip over into a bottle or weep or both. President Obama looks like he’s looking at TOD’ers and he’s saying “Yeah.. uh huh.. You know I’ve got this; let me give you that wonderful colgate smile and blow ya freakin mind!”

You guys should find Lawrence O’Donnell’s today show and watch it. He LOVES what the Prez has done! He went on about how brilliance Obama is…which I agree with!

No weapons formed against him shall prosper
Today I pray for our nation. Lord, I ask that you would give our President wisdom beyond his own understanding and the courage he needs to stand against the hate he receive from those who heart is evil. I pray that you would give him the grace and strength to stand against those who are trying to destroy him. Have mercy on our President and our nation Lord, In Jesus name, Amen

Sorry if this is to much praying but I believe in Prayer. Change come with prayer.

Thank you for acknowleging that not all readers may be accustomed to the posted prayers. It DID take me aback at first, both here and at TOAITR. But I love how it has broadened my world view. I’m not religious, in the Western religious sense, but am dealing with medical issues. So many online “friends I haven’t met” said they’d pray for me. Offline, it’s not something I’d hear from the people in my life. But, after a bit, I began to appreciate the intent beyond the words, and feel grateful.

So, thank you and no need to apologize. I love the fact that our PragBlogs include people of all backgrounds. DKOS, my first blog, was contemptous of those who were religious. Nasty, in fact. Namaste.

      • July 11, 2011 at 9:58 pm

I’m with you GC, I’m not at all religious either but I really appreciate the fact that those who are religious on this site are just good-hearted and kind, they just spread their good wishes and generous thoughts without passing judgment on those who don’t share their beliefs. Love that 😉

I am reposting what I just posted in the other thread. I want you all to know how much I appreciate all of you!!!!

I am watching Rachel now. I am helping my husband work on our washing machine so I am going off to help him and then back here to type. Amazingly all the shows on MSNBC are good tonight. Everynow and then they get it right. I also have been discussing with some rightwing guys on facebook. I usually am very quiet about politics on Facebook but I couldn’t let this go. They were making fun of people in a Coffee Party ad about the deficit and trickle economics. They were going on and on about the deficit is the reason there aren’t any jobs. The last thing I wrote was where were they all the other times the celling was raised and the deficit was never talked about. Where were they when Bush spent all the surplus. Where were they when Bush’s wars weren’t on the budget. The are very silent now. I couldn’t have done this without all the support that is given here. Thank you all for all the information brought here. I hope I will be able to do this more now. Thanks again everyone!!!!

Politically, it’s over for Republicans like Boehner and McConnell. Sure, perhaps enough whack job teabaggers will vote for Cantor and a few other right wing radicals to keep them in office, but entirely by their own doing the Republican Party is defunct and toxic.

My admiration for President Obama grows, daily, because he ran on the principle that he would be the President of the United States of America, not the President of the Democratic Party, and that is exactly how he has governed since Jan, 2009.

The manner in which he has not only engaged Boehner and McConnell and other Republicans, but his genuine willingness to treat them in a honorable and fair way, because they are Americans and because that is his job, should herald a new era of democratic governance.

Instead, it likely accelerates their demise.

The USA will not default on any of it’s bills. The President has full control over that issue via Section 4 of the XIV Amendment to the Constitution.

So, brinksmanship of the kind Cantor and his ilk are trying is about as silly and stupid as a 4 year old bully challenging an Olympic heavy weight boxer to a match.

We have the privilege of observing a master at governance as well as a masterful politician strive to do what is best for Americans. How fortunate we are given the vast mess that a bunch of avaricious, imperialist hacks created during the past 30+ years.

    Yes.We.Can. … DO.More.Together!

Hi guys! There is a lot of serious business going on today but I just wanted to share that when I got home from work tonight my “IS FEIDIR LINN” t-shirt from Moneygall was in the mail box. I pranced around like a kid on Christmas morning. Its nice quality and fits just right. 🙂

The President is brilliant and intelligent, and folks are jealous.

I posted endlessly on TPM, bitchslapping firebaggers lies about the President “caving” and such. One poster even pointed out how Obama needs to “channel his inner Bush,” why should Obama channel the WORST President this nation ever had?

The firebaggers truly don’t see how Obama has Boner and the Republicans backed into a corner. If the Republicans refuse to raise the debt ceiling, the nation defaults and the economy could go back into recession. If the Republicans “cave” into Obama’s demands, they will face the angry wrath of their radical Tea Party base, the Republicans have no way of winning this fight because President Obama is playing chess while they are still figuring out the rules to Chutes and Ladders. 😀

    • 26 hopefruit2
      July 11, 2011 at 10:13 pm

The firebaggers know fully well that the President has checkmated the Republicans AND the PL (which includes the firebaggers), so they are lashing out in anger and misery. Right now Old Orange is in full meltdown mode. That place is a hot mess of wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Their hero Alan Grayson has decided to run again for congress in an Orlando district. He is clearly hoping to get elected on PBO’s coattails in 2012.

        July 11, 2011 at 10:17 pm

Really? He wants the President’s help getting reelected after smack talking him and calling him a sellout, what an opportunist! He apparently didn’t get the memo when he LOST last fall that he is not wanted in Congress… at least he’s not running a primary challenge against Obama.

          July 11, 2011 at 10:19 pm

Yes, and believe it or not, he actually used the President’s campaign phrase “I’m in” in his tweet about his announcement. Here is what he tweeted. I copied and pasted it directly from his tweet.

“Heading on The Ed Show on MSNBC at 10:15pm EST to announce my intention to run for Congress in 2012. I’m in! Are you?”

      July 12, 2011 at 2:33 am

That’s half the problem with some of the misguided firebaggers …

They hated Bush and everything he stood for, but crave their very own version of the very anti-democratic Bush to jam through their agenda…

President Obama understands and embraces true democratic rule and structure and is wise not to set any precedent that is bound to be exploited and certainly embolden future Presidents to side-step rule of law…

We see in the damage wrought by George Bush, what happens when a President has a flagrant disregard for the rule of law and brazenly abuses power…

  11. July 11, 2011 at 10:07 pm

    This is so vain, but . . .O.M.G. — photo #2 . . .

Boehner REALLY is ORANGE! 😉 And our President REALLY is B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L. — inside and out! His inner and outer beauty just glows. I just know that his “beautiful “spirit is going to tear through that crusty, rusty wall of greed that Boehner has built around himself and win him over. After seeing this photo, I feel more optimistic about the future than ever.

I know this may be shallow….but this is the first picture I’ve seen of the oval office completed redecoration. I really like it….it’s upbeat, traditional and modern all at once. Glad to see those satin drapes gone. Of course I really love it that the occupant of the office is our President, Barack Obama.

I an just checking in with my family. Sorry for being so late, but I was picking up my dear friend who was returning from a trip where he son is enrolling in college. She is my hairstylist, but really like a sister to me and their son is like my precious nephew. What a blessings. We spent so time having a nice late lunch, relaxing on the patio, and looking at photos. Then she talked with me about going to her doctor to see what is causing all of the pain in my colon. I have such severe pain no matter what I eat. I really have to trust a doctor and really feel good about how I am treated when I enter their office. So good news, she helped me make the appointment for next Monday and I will trust in my faith to get to the bottom of this. I have prayed, taken some great suggestions from a dear person in our family here and now my head is where it should be, so I am taking my steps wrapped in faith and prayer to take care of my body. I need to help my family here, and I will not be able to do that, if I do not take care of my situation. I appreciate all of the wonderful thoughts, prayers said, and just goodness that comes from my family here with Chipsticks. Thanks so much for listening. And thanks for the respect that we share with all in our family when we share our prayers, our meditations and who works personally for each of us without judging each other. I love that about our family and I love how Chipsticks allows all of us to be positive and share. I love you all so much, but I did not want anyone to worry. I ate a little as I said while my adopted sister was here, and now just some pain. But I am ready to see what is really going on within my body. I am ready to step out and we all need friends who will help us along the way. I love you all, and we are still so proud of our President today. Love you TOD Family so very much. I am crying now, so I better shut up.

Hiya HZ. Just saw your post. I’m sorry you’re having problems with your colon. But never be scared. All of us here wish you goodluck in your doctor’s appointment, are praying for you in our own various ways and in whatever we believe prayer is, and we are sending you goodwishes in droves. Stay healthy my friend and wipe your tears because though we may be virtual, we’re a family and we CARE for each and every member. So put some music on, because everything looks better with some music, light your special candles that you love to light and just relax because we need you to stay healthy; you bring such comfort and meaning with your commentaries. 😀

HZ…the pain can also be gallbladder issues (gallstones). There are a few possible causes for the pain, don’t let them (doctors) send you home with “perhaps you are just constipated” or they may infer that it’s (the pain) all in your head (psychological) and try to prescribe an antidepressant (I have clients who went through hell before doctors figured out what going on (unfortunately doctors don’t listen to the patient). Anyhow…I want you to know that you can help yourself to heal…I believe what is created can be un-created!

Hi HZ…I am a colon hydrotherapist (I clean the colon). I am not a doctor, but I work with a lot of people who have colon issues (most people come to colonic therapy beause they have issues). Most often than not usually the pain is associated with IBS (Irritable bowel syndrome) or diverticulosis…both are serious and can be very painful…but both can be helped with diet, cleansing, etc. HZ, once you have seen a doctor (and you find out what is going on) I will be happy to share my knowledge/information with you.

      Stay strong.

Dear Lord of Mercy and Father of Comfort,
You are the One I turn to for help in moments of weakness and times of need. I ask you to be with HZ in this illness. Psalm 107:20 says that you send out your Word and heal. So then, please send your healing Word to HZ. In the name of Jesus, drive out all infirmity and sickness from HZ body. Amen

    • July 12, 2011 at 8:39 am

Hang in there, HZ! A competent doctor will do plenty of tests to determine the cause of your pain, and then know how to heal it. Be strong, we are all thinking of you!
