Great thought to leave us with Chipsticks. That was when Michelle still had that rough outer shell of South Side Chi-Town. It’s been polished up a bit, but it’s still there inside of her. And she still believes that Barack is the RIGHT MAN for this JOB and SO DO I !

Good morning Chips, and how are you doing this morning? It seems that It’s been so long since I’ve given you a personal shout out. Thank you so very much for ochestrating such an enriching blog. Please know that this comes from my heart, I just enjoy your hospitality here. You are a winner, my Friend 🙂

Yesterday was a day of firey emotions that just kind of threw a lot of us off track, and I’m sure we probably wore you out, just reading all of our comments. I must say that I’m so very glad that we had a place to come and vent and voice our thoughts. I think I can speak for the most of us here, that we just love you Chips, and thanks so much 🙂 Have a great day today 😀

This is my favorite. The themes of her Africa trip in the video were important. She spoke how quickly a tornado (GOP) destroyed things and how long it took to rebuild. The Depression went from late 1929 till WWII stmulus rescued the economy. We have lost historical sense of how long things take: you do not get back 8 million jobs, lost in 6 months, in 2 years, particularly when GOP is working hard to hoodwink the voters and tank the.economy further. The yes we can video recalls the many long battles it took in our march toward progress in this country. But we shall overcome! When disagreements from our friends here arise, try to blend with the person, figure where the criticism is coming from, and find ways to direct the energy in a more positive productive direction. There’s a great blog at PoliticusUSA about how to talk to a fundamentalist that gives great suggestions. The goal of the opposition is to throw out half-truths, memes, to divide and conquer. My aikido teacher always said “energy follows attention.” so let’s not lose sight of where we are going: a committed community, supporting one together, to create a more world, with peace, opportunity, justice, peace, equality, and opportunity, and love for all. Yes we can, win again, Obama 2012.

I am completely all in with Obama/Biden 2012, and with staying positive, up-beat, focused, and disciplined. Let’s help each other keep our spirits up. This is only the beginning. It’s going to be a hard road, but we can rise above the fear-mongering and dissension, truly love each other, and truly love this country. I do think that staying calm and staying smart (as in strategic-smart) will help.

The game of politics is to make you afraid so that you don’t think.

    Thank you, Chips.

She really is perfection personified. We got lucky big time and there will always be cynical voices telling us to fear the imaginary boogeyman under our bed because his skin is a different color, his religion is different from ours, his culture is different from ours. Enough is enough. It will be a hard battle in 2012 and the naysayers are already oiling their machines and spreading misinformation and unfounded leaks about what President Obama is supposedly doing in the whitehouse and how’s he’s destroying the fabric that is America. We cannot and we must not allow them to tear us down. It is easy to let fear overtake you, it is easy to sink into despair. It is easy to wail, gnash your teeth, scream and holler; but is hard, much more harder to always view the glass as half-full, to always have faith in the face of defeat and finally, even though it is not tangible and we cannot see it, HOPE is the most important emotion of all. Hope guides us; hope is our port in the storm; hope is our lighthouse; hope is what keeps our head above the fray; hope is what keeps us from sinking into the abyss of despair; hope is the light at the end of the tunnel; hope is our beacon; hope is that unwavering core rooted deep inside of us that no matter what happens, no matter what the cynics throw our way, our foundation will ALWAYS be strong and our trust in President Obama will NEVER EVER waver.

The following is a letter to the President that I decided to post at OFA instead of sending to the White House. Wanted to share with all of you. Hope you will understand that I only wish I could do more to help this very fine human being prevail.

    Dear Mr President,

My admiration for you grows every day.

Early in your tenure as President I had the audacity to write you, many times, and urge you to do this or that.

What you did, and all you accomplished, while remaining steadfast in your promise that you would not be the President of ‘blue’ America but the President for All Americans is a lesson in humility for me – humility that recognizes you are way beyond the person I could ever hope to be.

Please know that what I now write is tempered by my realization that you have likely already considered and formed your plan.

Thus, if anything, I hope that I’m at least close to being in synch with your recognition of the reality our Republic now faces a challenge that it has experienced only once before in the decade before 1860 and the five years that followed.

Osama bin Laden led a horrendous, murderous attack on Americans within America. The consequences of his actions are of innumerable horrible dimensions, many exacerbated by the reckless behavior of President Bush and Vice President Cheney and their cronies. We all know that.

But the damage done to the American people, the willful, unrelenting harm directed at the well being of 10s of millions of Americans wrought by the Republicans in Congress and in State Houses throughout this Nation since you became President has only one historical precedent, the Confederate States attempt to destroy the Union and the Constitution and Bill of Rights on which it stood.

Every fabric of your generous spirit, every calming and righteous act that I and billions of persons on this planet have witnessed in your behavior informs how vastly hard it must be for you to ever allow yourself to give witness to the simple, undeniable, oh so obvious it’s like a brick hitting you in the face reality, that since your Inauguration in Jan, 2009, the Republicans and their monied corporate elites tightly coupled with the corporate media have had only one agenda – deny you a second term even if it means destroying the Republic to do so.

That’s not drama or hyperbole, Mr President, that is the simple, glaringly obvious truth.

Whether you acknowledge that truth in your mind I will never know – no one can unless you say so.

So, this letter is not a request that you invoke Section 4 of the 14th Amendment and vaporize the Republicans willingness to violate the underpinnings of the good faith and credit of the United States of America. It is not advice that would likely be way less informed than what you have ready access.

It is merely a statement of affection, respect and recognition that this American knows beyond any doubt that you will do what is best for all Americans even those who deserve nothing less than the fate of Osama bin Laden for the immeasurable, conscious and self-aggrandizing harm they do to the majority of Americans 24/7.

Thank you for every minute of your life that you give to perfecting the Union and extending the arc of justice toward a better future for humanity.

    Yes.We.Can. … DO.More.Together!

Bobfr, this is a great letter of truth. Thanks for sharing. However, I do believe that you should send it to the White House.

Your letter expresses what we all know is taking place in this country. I would bet my bottom dollar that this president is seeing the same as we do; but, it would not serve him well to express this publicly.

I have written to Mr. Boehner to let him know that most Americans are not stupid and that many of us recognize just what his party’s goal is for this country. I told him that it is a pity that we are cheering for those in the Middle East who have revolted and are revolting to rid themselves of an autocratic and dictatorial government which denies citizens freedoms and liberties, while his GOP/TP tent of federal and state legislators, federal and state Justices, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, its mega communication media and its corporate financiers are using every strategy available to end our Republic and our democracy and usher-in an autocratic and dictatorial government of the Haves and Have Nots who will have limited, if any, freedoms or liberties.

Love your letter. Again, thanks for sharing. I hope that it becomes viral!

Oh Bob, you have to send it to the whitehouse. It may not reach the President’s desk, but I promise you it will gladden the heart of the staffer who reads it and it will remind them that there are millions of us who are rooting for this President’s continued success and we appreciate the hardwork every person contributes in the Obama Administration.

Thank you Michelle our Belle! We cannot be afraid of the distortion, lies, fears, smears, hatred and racism. We must however, fight back by educating, responding in numbers by force, telling the truth and exposing the enemy. I love this woman for her passion, and more so, for that unconditional love she has for her man. What a woman like that, who is on our side, how can we just sit on the side lines, and do nothing? No way, for the fight has just begun, and we will win once more, win I tell you win.

First, thank you for all that you do to make this a lovely site to be a part of each day that we are blessed with the precious gift of life, Chipsticks. You are the sweet fragrance that we all can take upon our shoulders and make each day we come here to be better people, and people who have become a family who cares about our President and his team. I thank you for all of your hard work to make this that place, Chipsticks. I am grateful. I also want to thank Bobfr for his insights and encouragement to all of us at the end of the day. Thanks for sharing your letter to President Obama. We have all of the emotions that you mentioned, Bob that will run in all different directions any one of those emotions are bruised throughout the day. However, we do come to our family here and read, contribute with our comments, and quietly listen in the background. It is nice to reflect on what is being said by all of us. That is good. Then we stop and think how much harder it must be for our President to daily read briefs, attend meeting after meeting, make phone call after phone call, and even move to the most cherish time in his schedule, and that is having that quiet time with our beautiful First Lady and First Daughters and also BO and Mrs. Robinson. Those moments must be such a delight from him to take a few moments to have some of day’s troubles, problems, hateful comments that he made have read from some source that caused a little sting.(He is human). But then there is that moment when he has to sign one of those letters going out to those family members who have just given us the ultimate sacrifice, and he becomes so emotionally filled with sadness with a heavy burden of how that family will feel when they read his letter. Then he tries to get up, but his shoulders are so heavy that his steps are slowed down a little, and his eyes are filled with the fluids of compassion, grief, love for the children left behind, and he may even slump down for a few moments to say a simple prayer to get him to the next task. He is carrying the burdents of the world and it is very difficult on his emotions. Then there are those who are playing politics with the lives of children who have just been told that mommy or daddy will not be coming home; a family who just received their last pay check after 30 years on the job; the very ill mother or father now has to go and live with his /her children because they cannot live alone anymore; the job’s bills that the Dems have put in the House are not going any place; the unrest in the Middle East and other trouble places around the world have just turned for the worst; and some small minded person in Ccongress has just made an ungly and hateful speech about him on the floor of the House or the Senate, and his shoulders get even heavier. But you know what, then he remembers how many of us walked in the heat on dusty roads, knocked on thousands of doors, came to rallies, makde countless phone calls, took off a semester of college to help him wim in 2008, and he is given a little more hope that takes him just a few more bold steps in that Oval Office that will make a huge difference for the people who sent him there and those who did not send him there or wanted to have him there. And then we walk in with Hope all over or faces with stains of tears, shoulders also very heavy, and we reach out to tell him: “Mr. President, we are here to be your helpers in your tasks, and we will have made up in our minds that we will refuse to bend our shoulders help you carry this load because it will be a miss opportunity that is new opportunities for growth. God has lovinly places His hands upon our shoulders and his blessing us right now. You know why, becaue this President has said that he will believe in us, work hard for us, and always tell us the truth even when it may hurt. I will believe in him,, in each one of us, and we will prevail with glorious joy and victory. Oh, Yes We will. Thank you TOD Family, and know that I love each one of you here. Thanks for the honor to work with you all to make this turn out beautifully for 2012. Good Night and Good Morning.

    Indeed, Thank you, Tally.

I just saw this and posted over at Ms. Pants’s site.

Love her and love you, too, Ms. Chip.

Haven’t posted in a bit, but thought this might be a good time to weigh in.

Yesterday at some of our places on the blogosphere was somethin’. Hopefully, calm is back. But, we have to be careful not to freak out over rumor (cuts to SS and Medicare) and negative spin (the economy, though not as fast as any of us would like, actually continues to GROW).

    I can expound for a while, but I won’t. But, I will say this…

In addition to looking at this clip from time to time (and you’re right Annibella. Juan Williams – grrrrrrrr! GGail, I’d say that this isn’t rough Chicago Southside, but a woman who is passionate about her convictions, her man, and her country. and we, most likely, shall see her – The Closer – again and right soon), we ALL us of should replay AND review his comments during the Grant Park speech as well.

What we are looking at and experiencing NOW is what he preciently told us all THEN.

    Let us NOT be afraid!!

Lord, grant us ALL Discernment and PATIENCE.

And, that we get NO WAYS TIRED, ENDURANCE as we run this race.

That speech is amazing. It’s as relevant today as it was then. I love the fire and how passionate she is…loved how PBO jogged into the room, as usual. If Michelle ever decided to run for office – watch out world…she would be an amazing leader just like her husband. Those two are made for each other…

Now if Michelle Obama feels that way about her dear husband, and we admire her, who are any of us to have doubts? No more spasming out , folks, okay? 😀
