Can we send that to that jackass Ed Schultz and all the other loud mouths out there. Including the Democrats in Congress and Senate, Who couldn’t wait to go on tv and criticize this President about cutting S.S, Medicare, and Medicaid, without having the facts. I’m sick of them all.

Well, over at the Orange Place, the usual perpetually outraged (let’s primary Obama crowd) are saying that it was Pelosi and Reid who told PBO no and that’s why it’s not a done deal.

There is something so wrong with these people’s thinking , it is so sad to see them actively campaign against their own interests.

Hi criquet, I truly believe that the Old Orange (with a few notable exceptions) is now overrun with right-wing Libertarian folk whose interests are aligned with that of the Republicans. They are actively campaigning FOR their own interests, but they are too dishonest to be up front about it. People who hold Glen Greenwald and Cenk as their heros cannot possibly be interested in the poor and middle-class. Right now the biggest obstacle as they see it is the person in the WH, and they would have no problems seeing him replaced with a Romney or even a Bachman. The only time they appear to side with a “liberal” non-Republican is if that “liberal” has shown him or herself to be antagonstic to the President (e.g.., Weiner, Grayson), or if they can pit that Democrat in some way shape or form against the President (e.g., Gillibrandt, Warren).

Roughly three weeks ago, Mitt Romney ran a very dishonest ad attacking the President on the economy/unemployment situation. Not only was I astonished to see the ad being posted and pushed in a FRONT PAGE article on Orange, I was shocked by the numerous comments essentially cheering on Romney, calling the ad “brilliant!” The front page article even made some comment to the effect that “Romney gets it – when will the WH get it?” There was NO QUESTION that people were getting a kick out of seeing the President falsely maligned and attacked (by a Republican). Very few people (including the front page author) bothered to acknowledge that the premise of the ad was FALSE and the information presented was largely fictictious. Very few people (including the front page author) bothered to acknowledge that Romney’s record of job creation as governor was hideous (to put it mildly) thereby rendering his silly ad rather hypocritical. They were so bent on their Obama-bashing ceremony that I knew at that point, it would just be matter of time before we start seeing Palin’s nasty tweets about our President as “front page” material on that site. Thankfully, as you can see, the Romney ad has gotten very little traction for all their cheering and high-fiving. The majority of President Obama’s true supporters simply do not subscribe to the Orange mentality.

Yes, there is something terribly wrong with those people. Oh, it is so typical of the moaners and groaners of the left. We made him do it. BS! I wonder if they have been taken over by pods from another planet?

Yeah, the fauxgressives are saying it’s 100% cuts and no tax revenues.
They haven’t even seen the deal and they KNOW the details.

Cue the outraged MoveOn, CREDO and Big Fresh Bold progressive Adam G’s fundraising emails warning how the president caved and sold everything but the kitchen sink. Expect them to flood your inboxes right…about…now.

      Worst. President. EVAH!!!!!

        July 10, 2011 at 1:16 am

Hahahaha. Everytime he’s talked about SS and Medicare, it’s always about strengthening them. Strangely all the PL seem to hear is “Obama is worse than GWB; he hates poor people and he will destroy SS and Medicare.!!!!!” Then they pretend outrage as though they know what deal the President concluded, telling everyone to donate that almighty dollar so they can teach him a lesson. It’s always about money with them. Every issue and non issue is a chance to bilk more people. They’re just as bad as rightwing sites.

        July 10, 2011 at 3:47 am

What is happening for me is that the organizations and pundits that jump on the bandwagon of outrage over and over against the President, giving him no credit but assuming the worst intentions on his part, are becoming less and less relevant to me. I can’t help but dismiss their opinions. I don’t know if they realize they are not so much damaging the President as themselves as sources of good information.

And strangely, walking out of meeting is seen as courageous and standing ground. It’s hailed as some strength on the part of Republicans when in actuality it is indeed weak and cowardly.

Has anyone else heard/read anything about this?

Republican Speaker of the House John Boehner just blinked: Statement by Speaker Boehner on Debt Limit Discussions.

“Despite good-faith efforts to find common ground, the White House will not pursue a bigger debt reduction agreement without tax hikes. I believe the best approach may be to focus on producing a smaller measure, based on the cuts identified in the Biden-led negotiations, that still meets our call for spending reforms and cuts greater than the amount of any debt limit increase.”

Could this have been why PBO was whistling en route to Camp David? Every part of that pic Chipsticks posted earlier today screamed, “I GOT THIS!!!!!

For anyone wondering what the future may bring, I urge you, whether you understand the language or not to watch this young Libyan girl leading chants against the horrible terrorist Gaddafi:

If that young girl can lead, everyone here can do so in whatever way each of our talents and experience enables us to support and propel President Obama to four more years of exceptional service to EVERY American – even those too stupid and hate-filled to realize he is actually trying to help them.

Hmm She’s out in the streets? What a naive amateur. Someone should tell her all she needs is to sign an online petition and donate money to the site that’s pushing is how to get things done. She could also log onto “progressive” sites and start yelling and scream how she wants things. now! A few words of how so and so caved, is a wimp and sold out helps too.

Seriously, this is inspiring. I love it.

This is what I told Ed Schultz when I email him two times,I told him Ed before you get on tv and go running your darn mouth, ranting and raving about what the Washington Post said, the President is going to do to S.S,Medicare, and Medicaid, it sure would be nice if you would try to get a response from the White House first. It wasn’t good enough for him to rant and rave, he had to tell us that Barack Obama would not win a second term if he touches S.S., Medicare, Medicaid. As I said before they make me sick, but I will not stop fighting back anyway I can against these people.

What an inspirational video. We must continue our fight for our country. This little girl wants a free country. Here we are in supposedly the most free country in the world and we have people like the repubs and tea party wanting to set us back.

I am so thankful for Chips, this community and BWD and the TOAITR community. Yes we can!

This president is a doer, a stealth operator. Yet that very thing hurts him with some liberals and independents. Weird, right? It only becomes apparent later that what he did was great. Problem in my view is that he fails in vocally promating grand liberal themes. This is why we get some cluesless poeple supporting cuts to programs that benifit them, because they bought into a long established republican themes. “Government is not the solution, government is the problem” and so on. We’re at a point where their solid right (Grover) is taken much more seriously than our sold left (Bernie Sanders). The president always does the right stuff. I wish he would also shift the grand philosophical themes in our country as well.

    • July 10, 2011 at 9:37 am

In every single speech, every presser, every intervierw our PBO lays out those themes. IMO the clueless behave as they do out of fear. Always have.

      • July 10, 2011 at 9:52 am

Left-Indie, I am assuming the themes you speak of include “We are a nation of immigrants.” “Every person deserves a shot at the American Dream.” Every individual is entitled to equal rights under the law,” “we are a nation of dreamers, innovators, doers,” “We are our Brothers’s keeper.”

        • 44 Left-Indie
          July 10, 2011 at 10:27 am

Yes, they do and I love hearing them. But we haven’t began to shift the grand philosophical themes. I argue with a lot of “lost indies” and soft republicans for our side. It’s amazing what their baseline of America is. It’s Reagan-type philosophy of government even if they are on some sort of subsidy. I don’t think we make a coherent argument for what it means to be a democrat and why that is good for all americans including the rich.
