Morning Joe featured Pat Buchanan screaming and waving his hands the first two hours or so this morning and is now interviewing Jim DeMint. No one forcefully representing the President all morning.

    • July 6, 2011 at 8:39 am

Morning all. Bill, Steve Rattner was on and he did a great job of rebutting that old fossil. But unfortunately it was another GOP lovefest.

        July 6, 2011 at 8:46 am

Agreed, Steve Rattner is great and makes very logical points, but it seems to me he allows Buchanan to dominate the conversation.

        • July 6, 2011 at 9:00 am

He did a good job today, really. He shut Pat up a few times. And the folks on Twitter were congratulating him on his performance. for example, Buchanan spouted the republican lie that 51% of Americans don’t pay any taxes. Rattner shut that down with facts and Buchanan couldn’t say a thing because he was lying and knew it.

Oh yes! POB I saw that. Buchanan said that 51% of Americans don;t pay income taxes. He’s mental. How the hell is that even feasible mathematically. Steve Ratner, Obama’s former car czar, called him out on it with facts. He said that only about 18-20% of Americans don’t pay income taxes but they pay social security taxes so they are still contributing to the Federal Government. He said the highest spike in Americans that didn’t pay income taxes was 40% and that was only in 2009 when the recession was bad and millions of people were unemployed. He then asked Pat how much he thought those bottom 20% earned annually and Pat said they earned $120,000. WTF???? If you earn $120,000 and your’re not paying income taxes.. then you’re defrauding the government when you fill out your IRS tax form. Ratner told him that the bottom 20% barely earn $12,000-$15,0000 annually and that is far below the Federal Government’s definition of poverty. It just goes to show how these republican assholes are so out of touch that they think the bottom 20% earns $120,000 annually. It’s the George H. Bush moment when he walked into the grocery store and didn’t know how much everyday items cost and how middle and working class families were affected. These are the kind of people who are in Congress and are holding this country hostage. We have millionaires in Congress and millionaires running for President and they purport to know what everyday folks go through. Utter rubbish!

ps: people were pissed off at msnbc and Mika this morning for allowing Pat the Buffoon spew endless lies! The hypocrisy of the msm just stuns me everyday! When we think they’re done, they take it up another notch.

Joke and msm are upset that we are not taking their “mess” anymore. Once upon a time the noise came from the tea baggers…they just can’t say anything and do anything without us pushing back. I think they are stunned that we are standing up and talking loud on behalf of the truth (and PBO)!!

        OBAMA/BIDEN AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. July 6, 2011 at 8:44 am

    Amen Fred!
I don’t tweet but I can’t wait to hear about what went on from the TOD family! Our President continues to prove he is a cut above the rest by far! May God bless him.

I watch morning joke also. Jim DeMint was on and Mika, Barnicle, and Willie pushed back with legitimate questions and the response from DeMint was the usual talking points. I especially like Barnicle statement about engaging in the Iraq war and it was not funded. DeMint disregarded this statement and proceeded with the standard bullshiggedy. No wonder nothing is getting done. A bunch of liars who are trying to take this country down. As long as President Obama is in office it is not happening.

    • July 6, 2011 at 9:37 am

The tragedy is they keep giving the Rs the platform and shutting out the Dems. I wish Americans would take to the streets against the MSM and the Rs. If we truly had progressives they would organize a march on washington in support of Pres Obama and against what the Rs are doing.

        July 6, 2011 at 9:39 am

well PoO until the Democrats demand equal time;they will be shutout

        • July 6, 2011 at 9:59 am

they can complain but they can’t demand anything. Its the news but its still the private sector. Their (corporate media) only desire is ratings and pushing their own ideology. Democrats don’t help with that and they don’t have to be invited on.

Well, we may not be taking “it” to the streets against the msm and the Rs…I think the social networks are proving to be a valuable venue to have our voices heard…we have only just begun!

The federal government is now investigating Exxon for that oil leak in Montana. Yesterday, Exxon said it would pay for everything.

Heard the governor of Montana last night….they’d better pay for everything. That man takes no prisoners. He said the clean up will not be complete until the State of Montana and their agencies say it is cleaned up. They will not accept Exxon’s word of the feds’ word. He said one problem is that if you just FLY over the river (shades of GWB and Katrina) you can’t see the damage. You have to be on the ground to see the havoc. He also said this is an old fashioned pipeline. That now they cannot be placed so close to the river bed. Now they have to be at least twenty feet ( I think…or lower) under the bed so that no damage can come to the river. These oil companies are awful!!!

Don’t know if PBO will use this so called ’14th Amendment Remedy’, but what I do know is that when Repugs least expect it, PBO screws ’em just right. 😀

TODers, I don’t tweet (yet!) But can some please send a tweet ask if proposed cuts to Medicaid will affect people with disabilities (especially the children) ? I’m hearing some horrible rumors. The most vulnerable people ALWAYS seem to get screwed first…. 😦 😦
