wow the republicans really crashed twitter. Obama-bashing festival……it’s going to be tough to select intelligent questions.

  3. July 6, 2011 at 1:47 pm

I’m just reading the “questions” there are some ignorant stupid people in this country who ought to grow the hell up or just shut up and quit showing their lack. I seriously hope that the President doesn’t have to see most of this garbage.. I am trying to retweet the smart and thoughtful questions, yet haven’t see one yet.

sherijr…I had a feeling it was going to be like this. I woke up this morning (I set my TV to come on at 5:15 AM) hearing one of our local news anchors talking about today’s summit…he said he sent a question, “why is President Obama different from Senator Obama”? His co-anchor asked him why did he asked that question (or something to that effect) and he said, “because Senator Obama promised to do/change things that President Obama hasn’t done”. I thought how STUPID!!!!

      OMG..Boehner (sp) asked a STUPID question…

The so called “news media”—-no more fair and balanced, just say whatever the hell you want, when you want, how you want. ——I want them to stick it down their pipes and choke on it.

As Tom Joyner said, blame Cornel West, Tavis Smiley and their ilk for emboldening every idiot and racist to poke this great man in the eye…
But it will not only backfire, it will boomerang back to these racist envious twerps…

Exactly. Just keep giving them the rope to hang themselves. President Barack Hussein Obama has done this so many times now…back during the campaign ’07-’08…those 2 (still can’t believe he even did one!) times he took questions just from Repubs and completely embarrassed them…and now likely today.

Just let them be their predictable selves, then come in when the time is right and drop the hammer. Stanley Ann’s son thrives in this kind of forum.

So that attention-seeking fool @ltdanchoi tweeted this today:

“Dear @BarackObama, your own church supports Marriage Equality! What’s taking you so long? You make Baby Jesus cry.”

    I replied:

“You may not want to bring baby Jesus into this.”
Since we all know what the “good book” says about homosexuality.

This is the moronic response Choi sent me:

“@marabout40 Baby Jesus has been brung! Jesus’ parents also faced discrimination, and their Personhood also discounted by power elites.”

How old is this guy? 5? Yeesh!

    • 35 nintendowii10
      July 6, 2011 at 2:39 pm

Choi needs to be put in time out, he clearly has mental issues.

      • 36 hopefruit2
        July 6, 2011 at 2:46 pm

Yes, he needs to sign up at the VA for some Mental health consultation and treatment. And I’m not joking about it. This guy is dangerous and harbors a tremendous amount of anger at the President. Marabout maybe you should twit Mr. Choi about his SILENCE on Michelle Bachman and her homophobic husband. Michelle bachman is a presidential candidate, not some random comedian or talk show host.

        • 37 nintendowii10
          July 6, 2011 at 2:49 pm

Choi is a Log Cabin Republican, so he’ll kiss Bachmann’s ass, just like he was kissing the Chump’s ass at CPAC with his Republican friends.

    • 38 Fred
      July 6, 2011 at 2:46 pm

      Choi’s father is a Pastor.

Wish I could tweet Choi back and let him know that it is pass time he check himself again in that psych ward and that people are starting to fear for the President’s safety and that folks find him more than insulting comparing himself to MLK and Rosa Parks and that going the baby Jesus route is just too damn much

      • 39 hopefruit2
        July 6, 2011 at 2:48 pm

Choi’s father is a homophobic baptist minister who basically disowned him when he came out. That’s where a lot of Choi’s anger and projections are coming from. Things he dare not tell his own father, he’s projecting on to the President.

          July 6, 2011 at 3:03 pm

I say your comment, Hope, and decided to ask Choi about his father. This is his response:

“@marabout40 Tough topic but yes. They actually have the same fears: job retention. We actually don’t speak now.”

          • 43 hopefruit2
            July 6, 2011 at 3:32 pm

Hmmmm…..interesting. I’m glad you asked that question. I think his unexplained “hatred” for the President stems directly from this paternal conflict. However, I disagree that the President “has the same fear” as Choi’s father and is keeping his job on the backs of gay rights. He has done more for the LGBT community than all 42 presidents before him. The president has a job to govern an entire country and preside over the passing of all kinds of legislation. Choi’s father does not have that responsibility. Secondly, I believe that Choi’s father actually believes in this thing – which is why he is a minister in the first place. The actually preach against homosexuality in those churches, whereas the President doesn’t preach against anyone because of who they are. Apples and oranges. Choi really could benefit from a good psychotherapist.

        • 45 Fred
          July 6, 2011 at 3:23 pm

would be nice to remind him that him being gay might not be the only reason his father disowned him but the other reason is that Dan is a major douchebag and a father’s love can only take so much

        • 50 Keith in C-bus, Ohio
          July 6, 2011 at 6:59 pm

Well as someone else stated that explains a lot. Choi has been hurt tremondously by his daddy and all his anger is projected toward folks who question his lifestyle. Which in itself is puzzling the way he continously attacks PBO, cause the Prez has been very GAY friendly during his presidency. Choi sounds a little psychotic and needs some real mental and emotional stability. Therapy anyone?

That said does he really believe Michelle Bachmann will embrace him? She and her husband is probably more HOMOPHOBIC than his dad and on top of that they are devout RACIST.

        July 6, 2011 at 2:52 pm

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t recall MLK Jr. or Rosa Parks being hateful and disrespectful towards JFK and LBJ, how dare this fool Choi besmirch MLK and Rosa Parks!

    • July 6, 2011 at 2:49 pm

Good grief Hachikō, the guy is even more bonkers than I originally thought. Seriously disturbed.

    • July 6, 2011 at 3:22 pm

He craves attention – don’t give it to him. He’ll then say more and more ridiculous things to try and get attention and eventually will go too far for all about his most ardent supporters (by of which I mean the ones cashing in using him as their mascot).

uhm………ooooooooookaaaay. Where was he when PBO signed the repeal of DADT, or better yet, when DOJ said they wouldn’t be defending DOMA? Isn’t this sort of ‘been there done that’? Am I missing something? Bad Analogy but, it’s like linking to an article saying that bin Laden was a bad man and deserves to be punished AFTER PBO already said he’s dead. Really Choi? Maybe I’m missing something, I didn’t click on the link because I figured anything from that asshat is something I don’t need to see. But my point is: where is the news in the 9th court saying bye, bye, bye to DADT?

    • July 6, 2011 at 3:55 pm

Okay, I am not the only one left behind here??? [ Hi M, Doris, (and Sue in M), my name is VC and I’m Twitterphobic.] It’s reassuring to know there’s still a spot for me within the TOD family as part of the ‘twitter-less’ arm, ’cause I don’t see myself joining anytime soon – I can barely keep on top of emailing/blog commenting! 😛 Of course, when 2012 really ramps up I might be forced to change my mind as I feel more and more out of the loop. The ‘left-out’ feeling here at TOD is somewhat disconcerting , but I don’t doubt that we will all settle into our ‘new’ roles here. I was pleased and impressed with the way tweeters here came together quickly around the Mark H stupidity and I continue to be proud of the pro-Obama energy generated here. Yes, we can, in whatever venue, just like our President!

Excellent post VC. I am twitterless as well. I will be helping on the campaign here in Ohio with local OFA and we will need all the tools at our desposal. If I must do twitter to help the Prez get elected so be it. Ohio can swing either way (PBO won Ohio in 2008 by only 4%), but with this Fascist Governor (with 35% approval) you’d think PBO would have a 10pt plus lead on all challengers. Lots of work to be done folks. Obama/Biden 2012!!

OT: I just heard that Elliot’s Spitzer’s show on CNN is cancelled? I just saw it on the HP front page so I don’t know how true or when it happened. I guess he had too many negative things to say about banks and corporations? Maybe they simply wanted him to bash the President 23/7 like Campbell Brown (although he came pretty close to doing that)?

Lowest point of this town hall : Rusty Boo-Boo’s question, followed by a dynamite rejoiner from PBO: “John needs to improve his typing skills.”
Loved the end of the Townhall when PBO spun that question into his overarching theme: “invest in the future, look out for the next generation, this is how the American Dream becomes a reality and these are American principles.” Frickin awesome. Also, I didn’t like when PBO was tweeting and the guy was like: “only 140 characters.” He probably didn’t mean anything by it, but I’m always annoyed when people try to rush PBO.

The only bills out of the House have been defunding NPR, Planned Parenthood, redefining rape, destroying Medicare… none of which address jobs, but it’s all President Obama’s fault.

And yet the American people put these Republican clowns in control of spending in the House because they wanted to stick it to President Obama for not giving them their ponies and building Rome in a day! 🙄

        Building Rome in a day…..

some folks feel that the President has not built Rome in a day…has not leaped tall buildings in a single bounce…and while they talk much about what they feel he has not accomplished…they miss what he has done…against incredible odds….i lead them to this blog,,,and encourage them to clik on the links and see what The President has done…

You all mentioned Choi. It seems as though he hates himself and he needs an authoritarian validation. He feels worthless and is mourning the loss of his father. He is looking for a substitute through President Obama. It seems as though he is demon possessed waiting for forgiveness. If he was taught christian principles as a child, he has a war going on inside and he definitely needs counseling.

    • 110 Fred
      July 6, 2011 at 3:35 pm

with all due respect but Dan Choi has some major issues that he needs to look into.Everyone has issues but we don’t go around taking it out on folks like the President who has no bearing on Choi’s issues.Dan Choi could have reinlisted and gotten married in NY if he wanted to just like Maddow could have gotten married in Ma years ago yet they yap that the President 🙄 is against them! 🙄

Dan Choi is a gay man.He has nothing to apologize for.He despite loving his father to death shouldn’t seek his father’s forgiveness but he should work towards making Dan Choi a better person;with a LOT less anger and resentment in his heart.

Choi is with his behavior losing sight of the big picture and has been trying to turn himself into a cause celebre

      July 6, 2011 at 4:54 pm

Mae, thanks for your comment. As much as I hate what Choi says, I can’t help but feel he is a VERY troubled soul who merits some compassion. Compassion is by no means assent. He thrust himself into the public arena and yet seems ill-equipped to handle what he unleashed. He needs someone who can pull him back so he can gain perspective; otherwise, I fear for his future.

I always admire how President Obama soldiers on amidst all the irrational hatred and never demonizes or humiliates his enemies. I wish I had even 1/10th of his character. I would hate to push anyone off a cliff.

      Thanks again, Mae.

  43. July 6, 2011 at 3:25 pm

I only wish he nailed Boehner on jobs, pointing out that Boehner hasn’t passed one damn jobs bill near 200 days into his term as Speaker.

    • 115 nintendowii10
      July 6, 2011 at 3:27 pm

Well he sort of did that already, in his other townhall/presser (whatever it was) where he said that Congress needs to do their jobs and quit with the theatrics and such.

But I think that the zinger “John needs to improve his typing skills” was good enough. If the man can’t even type correctly, what business does he have asking POTUS where are the jobs?

    • 116 Anonymous
      July 6, 2011 at 4:30 pm

He may not have wanted to antagonise him personally while still trying to get something done on the debt ceiling.

Agreed. That’s why he’s still keeping up the “I believe Speaker Boehner will see the light” message, even though it’s driving some of the Left nuts to the point that they think he’s a naive fool.

But wait until they hit the August deadline and if the Republicans haven’t come around to something reasonable by then…I’ll bet he has Plan B and probably Plan C. And a few choice words for Boehner and Co.

    This is really pathetic……

A NEW LOW: GOP LEADERS TROLL OBAMA’S TWITTER TOWN HALL

Apparently since this GOP isn’t interested in passing any legislation, they had plenty of time to troll Obama’s Twitter town hall on the economy and jobs.
    ,
    ,

In only a matter of weeks this country is risking economic catastrophe if the debt ceiling is not raised. You would think that these members of Congress and their staffs would have more important things to do than trolling Obama’s Twitter Town Hall with their talking points. Is this really what taxpayers are paying them to sit around and do? If they want to have a serious discussion about the economy, the deficit, and the debt ceiling, why don’t they take the President up on his invitation to come to the White House and talk to him face to face?
    .
    .
Republicans apparently don’t have the time to deal with the economy, jobs, the debt ceiling, or the deficit, but they have all day to hang around Twitter and troll. They think they are winning the message war, but the real message they are sending is that they don’t care about the American people or their problems.

The hastag that I would use to describe this whole display is #GOPfail.

Pelosi Announces Hearing on Risks of Default to the U.S. Economy and Jobs

    July 06, 2011

Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi announced today that the House Democratic Steering and Policy Committee will hold a hearing this Thursday at 12:00 p.m. on the impact of a default on the United States economy, job creation, and seniors and the middle class. This hearing, the only one in the House of Representatives on this critical issue, will emphasize the pain the American people would face if the United States were to default on its debt.

    Witnesses for the hearing include:

Bruce Bartlett, Columnist, Former Advisor to Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush
Alan S. Blinder, Professor of Economics and Public Affairs at Princeton University, Co-Director of Princeton’s Center for Economic Policy Studies
Heather Boushey, Senior Economist, Center for American Progress
Matthew J. Slaughter, Associate Dean of the MBA Program and the Signal Companies’ Professor of Management at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth

I am kinda glad that Speaker Boehners question was posted. It makes him look petty and foolish. He thought he was being cute by asking President Obama (EXECUTIVE BRANCH) where the jobs are. But I think his little stunt is going to backfire. Because the next obvious question is what has congress (LEGISLATIVE BRANCH) done to create jobs? It would be great if one of the lazy media stenographers actually did their jobs and asked Speaker Boehner why his caucus has not introduced any jobs bills in six months.

Is Nancy Grace “sista barracuda?” Because if that is who you’re talking about, then I wholeheartedly agree. She reminds me of a dog contaminated with rabies. Always disgustingly rabid and frothing at the mouth. She is pure and utter drivel. Takes up too much damn valuable tv space and time. She’s supposedly a lawyer, yet knows next to nothing about the law but she is excellent at shoddy, tabloid, sleazey, muckraking gossip. She is the epitome of a Newstainer. Emphasis on the crap “entertainment.”

No shame or remorse at all. What has ‘journalism’ descended into?! This gross misconduct and invasion of privacy is disgraceful and disgusting – gutter press!!
And to think that this government gave them a free reign to SKY. I hope they bring them down (Cameron hired one of the editors of this paper as his PR guy and had to fire him when shyt hit the fan) and that News Int. takes a hit. Apparently companies are only removing their adverts from ‘News of the World’ paper not News Int. They need to remove them from News Int. for it to affect News Int.
