Oh Chips I never ever tire of this song/video combo. I heard the song on the radio the other day and I immediately began yelling in my car… “That’s Chipsticks song!” and then I added… “Oh yeah and it’s Train’s song too.” Hahaha.

For any TOD’er who loves the Hey Soul Sister song, you should check out their other fantastic song, “Save me San Fransisco.” It’s a love song to their hometown and is absolutely delightful.

Not clear – you mean that neat video was created by Chips? She does the blog AND makes videos (ie, is creative with visuals and musical timing) Holy shit!

GC, I’m very lucky to be able to work from home, but sometimes when I miss my deadlines by ….. oooooh ….96 hours, my boss calls and politely asks: “WTF do you DO all day?”

I am so impressed. I use youtube often to discover new music (backgrounds for movies, TV, figure skating) and then transfer to my ITUNES library. I adore melodies/beats tied perfectly to movement. Maybe because I can’t dance worth a damn, I appreciate other ways to synchronize this. I just finished adding one in fact. (Lacrimosa, someone put to a Robin Hood sequence) But I get the impression these contributers are fanboys/girls, not genius blog owners as well like you! Well, I am EXCELLENT at napping….ah well, I can also do advanced Yoga. Ommm. (when I’m not napping)

        Seriously, you are awesome!

I too fell in love with this song having heard it here. Then watching it live I said, that’s Chipsticks song.

      • July 4, 2011 at 9:35 pm

๐Ÿ˜† Hiya Joy, it was hilarious, when I was watching Train and they started the song my reaction was “HOW DARE YOU STEAL OUR TUNE!!” Before reminding myself it was, well, um, actually their song. ๐Ÿ˜† Hope you’re keeping well Joy.

        • July 4, 2011 at 9:53 pm

Joy? You know, I still feel some anger towards you ….. I mean, it’s just not fair that some people on earth get to live in Barbados. When I try to picture paradise, I see your home place. Would you like to do a house swap??

Yes Chipsticks I am. Have not been commenting much but I do check a zillion times each day. Must say I am learning so much about US politics and politicians. Before 2008 I could not tell you what a Primary was. Thanks to your site and your amazing followers I now feel like I am ready to vote.

only in the summer then you can have your house back.

I love that song too. It is the very first song I downloaded on my iPod when I got it. It is much better with the video though. What a wonderful President and First Family we have been blessed with.

Absolutely spectacular Macy’s fireworks display in New York City. This has to be the best fireworks display I have seen. The backdrop of the Statue of Liberty was just stunning. The songs were great and very emotional.

It was pretty amazing—–on and on from 6 coordinated launching stations. Spec—tacular. All of the celebrations have been great tonight— Boston Pops now——I’ve noticed I’m much more appreciative because of who’s in the WH. Makes a big diff.

I grew up with the NY harbor fireworks. Was so let down when I moved to rural America. lol Has taken years to get over and I still try to be in NY for the fireworks on july 4th. It helps that my sis’ b-day is july 2nd. Did they set them off from the barges in the river, timed perfectly? Always a site to see,

    Embee and Meta, thanks.
Of course, is there anyone else to support and work toward re-electing? This is a continuation of what we started in 2008 primaries in VA. I will call the # to know when the campaign offices will be opened here for canvassing.

Okay, I’m bummed. I just watched the WH celebration and they didn’t play Train doing the song. I guessed I missed it.

Thank goodness for Chipsticks’ video! My favorite part (well, one of) is when then Sen. Obama is sitting on the chair in the middle of the room looking centered and grounded and all the females are practically running circles around him. It’s how he’s been dealing with the petulant congress and disfunctional press, whiney electorate, etc.

i especially enjoyed the “Sing” video, and played it twice. I felt so much emotion watching all these semi-familiar scenes of hte President in interaction with the people. I believe there is no one like him anywhere on earth, with his particular brand of talents and his appearance and values and family, and I intend to enjoy him on your blog every day possible to the last day of his presidency. Then I think I’ll go into an eclipse.

But first, we must work as hard as we can as citizens to help him in his reelection campaign.

Thank you for making this a special national birthday.

Love the video, warms the cockles of my heart, but I’d never heard the song until I became a TODer. I’m sure the performance was dedicated to ‘soul sister’ Chips ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Tried to watch this on UTUBE but it gives me sorry this is a private video? Why is that?
Loved this and would like the outside world to see it too!
