I saw his statement. Very nice. I thought it was funny when he called out “Navy!” and they whooped real loud. Then he called out “Marines!” and they whooped super loud. Then some guy in the audience whooped real loud when President Obama introduced one of the military women and PBO asked if he was her husband and she was like “oh..noooo” and PBO was like I’m sorry… I don’t want to start anything or cause any trouble…haha. He looked well rested and refreshed and Michelle looked amazing. Loved her outfit and her sandals looked super comfortable yet so chic.

OMG!!!! The CNN stream had prolonged coverage of the president when he went shaking hands after his speech. It was so awesome!

I loved it when he held up two little boys at the same time. He is just beautiful.

It looked like his Baby Whisperer reputation has caught on light wildfire. Everyone had their little ones front and center at the rope line, hoping for a pickup and photo with the Pres. I laughed when he picked up one little guy who had the American flag face paint whose finger was starting to find his nose just as the parents were ready to snap their pic.
Again, I noticed that we have the coolest First Couple ever. So beautiful and warm and loved by all those military families there. I think Michelle has really endeared herself with that community with all her good work. I am always so proud of both of them, love to see the love shown to them by all the different crowds everywhere they appear.

    Off topic good news:

    Nation’s Largest Teacher’s Union Endorses PBO’s Re-election.

(CNN) — A year earlier than usual, the nation’s largest teachers union on Monday endorsed President Barack Obama for re-election in 2012.
The National Education Association, which represents 3.2 million teachers and administrators, approved the recommendation from its political action committee at its annual meeting in Chicago.
Obama “shares our vision for a stronger America,” NEA President Dennis Van Roekel said in a statement issued by the group. “He has never wavered from talking about the importance of education or his dedication to a vibrant middle class.”
Since taking office in 2009, Obama has championed education reform and used stimulus money to help keep teachers employed. Now he is calling for maintaining or increasing spending on education despite negotiating federal budget cuts.
However, not all of the Obama administration’s education policies have pleased the union, particularly its support for charter schools and continued reliance on standardized testing to assess performance.
The NEA statement said the organization usually waits until the summer of an election year to endorse a candidate. This year, it did so earlier than normal “in order to provide early and strong support to help ensure the election of a candidate who is on the side of students and working families.”
Calling a conservative swing in state legislatures and the November 2010 congressional elections “eye-opening,” Van Roekel said the nation “cannot sacrifice our students’ futures by shortchanging them now.”
“There are two very distinct visions for this country,” Van Roekel said in the statement. “One is about opportunities for all and one is not.”
Vice President Joe Biden addressed the meeting on Sunday and pledged continued support for public education.
Biden cited anti-union efforts by Republican governors in Wisconsin and other states who blamed benefits for school teachers as a cause of their budget deficits.
“We should working with you, not against you,” Biden said to applause. “We should be listening to you, not lecturing to you. We should be embracing you, not pushing you aside. You are not the problem.”
He concluded by telling the NEA delegates that they “should have no doubt about my affection for you and the president’s commitment to you.”

That’s excellent news – though not for John McCain. Now, what’s the criteria for being a “struggling home owner?”

Greetings from Great Britain to the USA. Happy 4th of July to you and to the world wide Obama family. May God bless you and your respective families, now and always. May God bless our President, our first lady, Sasha and Malia on this her 13th Birthday. May God bless you too, Chipsticks for creating this wonderful site, which I am hopelessly addicted to.

May I just say as someone who is a good deal older than the Obamas, that they are ADORABLE!!! I don’t know if that is a dignified word for the president and his wife, but they are. I have noticed how at ease they are now, compared to two years ago…..they OWN this job!

Back to the site and now the music has started. I have sound but no video. ARGH. I don’t get why this transmission is so inconsistent. The music is good, though!! Hope there will be video later at some point.

CHEERS to Cousin Henry Healy and everyone in Moneygall who are celebrating this Independence Day with us!!!! Cheers!!

Hi ya TOD’ers. Hope you all are enjoying the WH concert this evening. Yeah, I’m bragging because we in Philly have The Roots, Earth Wind and Fire, Estelle (my name by the way), Michael McDonald, DJ Jazzy Jeff, and some other woman. 😀 Couldn’t make it to the concert but it’s broadcasting via out ABC channel. Hi LunarSea…..love your name. Yes, I have to say that was the best 4th of July concert Philly ever had. 2 surprises were Boyz to Men, and Eddie Levert who did a tribute to Philly International Records. Also, the young lady I mentioned before is Sara Bareilles, I think that’s her name. It was fantastic even though I had to stay in. You can see the highlights at:

        Great concert.

Love the close-up pic with POTUS holding the boy with the flag on his face, POTUS is looking down and smiling. Such a huge, genuine smile. He’s got more lines in his face and his hair is certainly graying but he wears it so well. FLOTUS looked so beautiful, relaxed and so happy to be with everyone. LOVE THEM!!

That was a really nice tribute and welcome to the soldiers and their families. He always makes his remarks personal by using real life stories and people. Regardless of the situation or occasion. Not just abstract speeches. When he honored the troops he had real life examples and their stories of bravery and courage. He’s smart and a good person to his core.

Wooohoo steady there POTUS – lifting two kids!! I know he’s a ‘thoroughbred’ an all. They look great as usual and so warm and relaxed welcoming everyone. Love the pic of that guy holding his daughter up.
