impressive! oh…..wait

Read on:

“Former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman’s presidential campaign raised $4.1 million in the nine days since he formally entered the race, though about half of the funds came from the millionaire’s own pockets, a campaign official said Thursday night. Huntsman said previously that he threw some of his own fortune into the campaign to “prime the pump” and help get it started.” (link)

So, eh, should the headline not be: “Huntsman fundraising pulls in $2 million in first nine days”?

Thanks Jovie

WSJ (May 2011): Without any fanfare, former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr. has taken off the table one of the chips that might have made him a formidable Republican White House hopeful right out of the gate: He will not bankroll his presidential campaign with the Huntsman fortune.

“If we were to get in the race – no self-financing,” Mr. Huntsman told reporters over the weekend in South Carolina. “Unless you can raise it legitimately, you’re not going to win.”

Thank you StR – great spot

He was on record saying he wasn’t going to self fund –

“If we were to get in the race – no self-financing,” Mr. Huntsman told reporters over the weekend in South Carolina. “Unless you can raise it legitimately, you’re not going to win.”

Some Republican strategists say the Huntsman family fortune, amassed through Mr. Huntsman’s father’s multi-national chemical conglomerate, could have been the former governor’s secret weapon.

But I guess he’s saying he isn’t self-funding, but “seeding” with his money.

If the repugs did not have to worry about the tea baggers, i would be pretty worried about him. I do know what a president who pays for his own election. I felt that way about Bloomberg, and I feel the same about Romney. I know that having millions does not make you a bad person, but too often it makes you unaware of other people’s needs. Romney and Huntsman are just a little too slick.

ps. My sister would say, “They are slicker than snot”. lol. NO offense intended.

Didn’t that woman in California do that and she lost to Jerry Brown? 🙄 Might i.e.: money, doesn’t mean right, when will these people learn?

All these R candidates are just clowns. Can’t wait to hear what we helped our Prez raise. They’re shaking in their boots at his fundraising ability, among other things.

I would like to believe that proud. Almost every GOP candidate has their own multi-million dollar bankroll. Not to include all the outside special interest money that will be pouring in. PBO holds his own, but PBO does not own or manage a mulit-million dollar corporation. In otherwords I doubt the Rethugs are concerned about PBO’s ability to raise cash.

Huh? If he’s not bankrolling his own campaign, then how does he explain contributing $2 mil in “fundraising?” That’s the thing about these no class, no count repugs: they always preface what they say with: “Are you going to believe me or your lying eyes?” or my favorite: “Are you going to believe what I say-ish or what I do?” 🙄

Watched Morning Joe this morning and they were fawning over the fact that Huntsman raised $4.1 million in the nine days since he formally entered the race. Yet they conveniently forgot to mention that he bankrolled half of the donations. Thanks for this Chips. Gosh 95% of the time, the msm shows us how devolved the 4th estate has become.

Ha!!! PBO made $4 mil in three hours of fundraising two weeks ago. Hunstman and his gang of idiots can take that and stick it up their tailpipes.
