‘we have a prepubescent congress’

PM Carpenter: “They need to do their job,” barked the president of Congressional trolls. If his daughters, 13 and 10 years of age, can get their homework done ahead of otherwise guaranteed disaster, then surely the grown men and women of high elected office can settle, on a timely basis, a debt-ceiling dispute that’s been charging down the foreseen tracks for months.

Jesus, I pity him. Obama is now having to publicly scold and even ridicule the infantile, recalcitrant yokels of the United States Congress, just to get them to do their bloody homework, for which they draw government paychecks…..

…It’s a tribute to Obama’s miraculous temperament that he doesn’t explode more often.

What’s that sweet little baby’s name Obama picked up who stopped crying?

Ok ok! After careful consideration of all possible ramifications, I’m getting comfy with the idea of POTUS picking up the entire GOP just to get them to stop crying. But we ain’t changing diapers.

If Malia and Sasha can do their home work on time congress needs to stay behind and finish the Job. Aug 2nd is the deadline and Aug 4th is party time for My president’s 50th Birthday.

Lawry disappointed me when he just said that unlike Sasha and Malia, willing congressmen must work with other members of congress to get them to agree to do their homework. Lawry, I don’t know if you are just being obtuse or just plain silly, but that statement was supposed to be optics. The president was a member of congress, he is well aware of how congress works. This statement was the equivalent of pulling the cap off of a grenade and throwing it in the enemy’s camp. The example was hyperbolic but true. Instead of sitting on their asses and thinking up ways to make PBO a one term president then going home on break, Congress needs to get it together and work on passing the debt ceiling 🙄

Exactly. And Sasha and Malia don’t get group projects? Please.

Funny he didn’t acknowledge PBO having the same issue and worse as he tried to get legislation passed.

When Lawrence tried to take that statement serious and actally had commentary about it, I turned away and said exactly what you stated in your post lisalovesobama. I think these talk shoe host need to come up with stuff to fill an hour.

I have been going around on the right wing blogs and posted this:

“As long as one is not prediposed to disliking him or not trusting him for some unfounded reasons, it seems impossible that any reasonable person can listen to this man and not feel that he is a great person and great president; so smart, so caring, so sensible and reasonable, and that we are in far better hands with him as President than any of the people who will be running against him. Those who are constantly criticizing him and twisting his words and intentions should be ashamed for their disingenuous-ness and selfishness. ”

I don’t read the responses since it pisses me off. But I like getting their blood going. They do it to us.

Jaleh I love your post, but I do believe that most of those on the right wing blog would not be able to read and understand what you wrote. They would probably read on the level of a third grader and would not be able to comprehend many of the words that you used.

      Good on you jaleh!

I am disappointed in our pre-pubescent congress. Pitiful men who would rather see the destruction of the country than to give itself and this President a chance to move this country along on a good, sustainable path, where the middle class can rise and the ultra-selfish at last pay for their extraordinary good luck in having a bad president, Bush, who was willing to pass off the wealth of the nation to the top l/4 of l% of the wealthiest. Now that group garners all the power, and you can’t get them to give up their unattractive selfishness for the good of the nation. They want it all for themselves, because they are used to it–no matter how much the nation suffers as a result of them and this congress I am ashamed of.

GEITHNER: GOP DEBT PLAN ‘IRRESPONSIBLE, RISKY, RADICAL, UNWISE:

    —————————————————————-
Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner has made yet another attempt to convince conservative lawmakers they have no choice but to raise the debt limit.

In a lengthy letter sent to 17 Republican senators Wednesday, Geithner offered a broad takedown of the argument that the debt limit need not be raised to avoid a default. He called such an idea “radical and deeply irresponsible,” “unwise,” “untested and unacceptably risky” and “futile.”

The secretary told the lawmakers that such an idea would be a stark departure from the commitments of both parties through American history, and runs the risk of throwing the economy back into a recession while having a “painful” effect on Americans of every stripe.

“I hope we can all agree that we should not and must not gamble with the full faith and credit of the United States,” he wrote. “The consequences of a miscalculation are too grave.”

I think we need to do a twitter bomb. It will have more impact if we choose a few to zero in on. Robert Lipscomb commented in the p m carpenter site that his favorite response was Eric Cantor sniping about the president lecturing congress. It was a perfect example of spoiled brat behavior.

“Well, Little Lord Cantor, if you don’t like being lectured, just wait until a nation holds you responsible for a double-dip depression.”

Msnbc has an article titled “Oops, Obama messes up His Daughter’s age.”

    I mean, common.

Malia will be 13 and I’m sure that’s what he was thinking about. This just shows how royally PBO kicked butt.

By the way watching Ray-chull and she’s giving very little coverage to PBO’s outstanding presser. Guess she’s mad.

It doesn’t make any sense to call her 12 anymore, even Miche when she did her interviews was asked: ” you’re about to have a teenager, what would you tell her about romance” or some such BS. Miche was like,: “she’s already there.” Meaning, she’s already a teenager, the birthday doesn’t mean anything when mentally she’s begun acting that way and we’ve been treating her that way. MSM is stupid and obviously grasping if that’s all they got out of this news filled dat. You know MSNBFOX has sunk low if they are the only ones trying to drum up drama where there is none 🙄

And this is what passes for journalism in this country. MSNBC should be embarrassed.

    • June 29, 2011 at 10:01 pm

Oops MSNBC Malia will be 13 Monday July 4th, four days away. So an article need to be written Msnbc is full of a lot of B.S. Just had to try to fine something negative in a day when President Obama kick ass. Won’t work Msnbc!

      • June 29, 2011 at 10:14 pm

Just when I think the repulsive GOPolitico can’t get any worse …. this was one of their lead stories today!!!! They gave it as big a billing as the content of the President’s news conference. Unfriggingbelievable!

  10. June 29, 2011 at 9:30 pm

What was he suppose to say 12 years and 360 days old. When you are in the zone of a week you go to the next year especially for a teen. It’s a big deal.

    • June 29, 2011 at 9:40 pm

Like MOST parents I’m sure he has been referring to her as being ’13’ or almost ’13’ for several weeks now… my son will be 12 one week after Malia.. and I have been referring to him as a 12 year old for at least a couple months… especially when I’m disciplining him- as in “is this anyway for a 12 year old to behave”???? lol. The PRESS are Professionally stupid imo.
