Actually there were other Democrats there: The Pittsburgh mayor, Ravenstall, and several others besides Casey. There was only one that did not attend. (due to congressional votes)

Hey, I’m kinda glad they were in DC to actually do their jobs. I LIKE Bob Casey. Remember when there was speculation that he would be the VP candidate? They get along well, but I’m glad he chose Joe!!

These photos and the additional ones from the link are just amazing! FLOTUS’ outfits and hairstyle were just perfect for the occasions! Thanks Chipsticks!

Oh Co-sign GGail. Her outfits, hairstyle and accessories have been spot on. I’ve been reading up on the names of the designers and I’m glad she’s been paying homage to African designers. She truly is a woman of the world. She understands the culture of whatever country she happens to be in and gives a satorial nod with her outfits to let them know that she is cognizant and appreciative of their customs, mores and traditions. I’m glad that more people (especially babies…lol) got to experience her warmth, candor, joie de vivre, love of life, intelligence and breadth of experience.

Mrs Obama I am happy you are fun and all but we miss you and the girl over here and can’t wait until you land home safely where hubby is waiting on you 😉

POTUS and FLOTUS both adore children, it is plain to see. I have been so proud of our wonderful First Lady.

If you’re a FLOTUSnista like me :), make sure to check out Mrs. O

  9. June 25, 2011 at 4:14 pm

In the deepest of our hearts I don’t think we can put into words what impact our FLOTUS has on the women and children of Africa as she meets them on this trip. I know how I would feel but to be so far away from DC and to meet her on a one to one visit in their country is truly breathtaking. Never in their life could they imagine that they would have this opportunity. Bless them all and our FLOTUS for reaching out and spreading her love.

northanger, I just have to laugh I am so tickled. Look at Sasha. She is laughing on that bumpy trip in that jeep or whatever it is on the Safari.. FLOTUS looks like she is holding on for her dear life and Sasha is just laughing away. So funny. It is the first big smile I’v seen from her on the trip. :):

And I do like the description of her choice of clothing everyday at Mrs O. I have never seen a First Lady be an advertisement for such a variety of designers. She is so good for the American clothing industry and particularly those who are just starting out. She gets their name out there., When she wears something it immediately sells out on the internet if it is not too expensive. . When she is out of country, she honors the nation that is hosting her.

Had to go back and look at Sasha, I missed that. :D. She is enjoying the jeep ride and yes that is her “happy face.” She and Malia are quite the observers so you’re not quite sure what they are thinking, but this pic shows it all. The look on all their faces when they saw the elephant is priceless.

I love the photo of Mrs. O and her arms around Sasha. 🙂

And btw, I don’t know what other people were hearing when Mrs. Obama said, “For the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country.” But I heard someone ready to be first lady.

I love that we have this lovely opportunity to see our beautiful First Lady spread the love of all of us in this wonderful country who want to spread love and respect around the world. We are so bless to see all of this beautiful history taking place in front of our eyes. I am so filled with appreciation for all who made it possible for us to enjoy and share our wonderful First Lady and Daughters with so many others around the world. I hope that this trip has been a true blessing to all of the wonderful children and adults alike. Thanks for their happiness as we are beholding it. Thanks Chipsticks for all of this beautiful, goodness, and love being shared on this site. We know how proud POTUS is seeing his beloved wife and beautiful graceful children conduct themselves with so much love, intellect, and grace. We have so much to be grateful for in this nation. Let us go on to win this thing in 2012. I Am In.

That’s what I wondered too, Sue. They said it is winter in Africa so I have some studying to do to see just how cool it gets there.

this is the winter season in the southern part of Africa. and yes you need a solid jacket at this time in the countries that Mrs Obama and family are visiting. for the other parts of Africa, we often have NO idea what winter is (except at some of the peaks of the very high mountains).

What an astute and spot on statement, that “she is more than the USA’s first lady, she is the world’s first lady!”

You are so right and have so articulated what I have been feeling since 1/09.
