The girl over at MSNBC who says that PBO was against the marriage equality vote in New York last night didn’t like it too much when she was compared to Rush Limbaugh.
There is an old guy at Gannett News Service — USA TODAy, Al Neuharth, who writes a weekly column, I think. Couple of days ago in his column, he compared the ridiculousness of Limbaugh on the right and that girl on the left and there was a feedback from her asking why he did that. Happy Saturday, everyone. Just wanted to give a quick report on my OFA organizing meeting here in Indianapolis. In a word, it was awesome. People from all ages, ethnic groups, men, women — truly representative of PBO’s coalition and America. We are fired up and ready to turn Indiana blue once again. I will be hosting a house party this summer.
One OFA staffer brought his mom and dad who were visiting from England. I thanked them for the loving welcome they gave PBO and FLOTUS. They raved about our President and are going to work to make sure ex-patriots get all the information they need to vote in 2012. But I wanted to share a statement the young man’s mom made about the President. She said:
“Your president is the answer to peace, harmony and balance in this world.”
That statement took my breath away. This is how other countries see our brilliant president. They see what he does and accomplishes as affecting their country also. She said his re-election is not just critical to America, it’s critical to the world.
What a burden for our president to bear. But we know he is up to the task as he has done so masterfully already.
The other point I wanted to make is when we volunteers were introducing ourselves at the meeting and telling why we got involved, so many people said they were drawn to President Obama’s spirit of love and inclusiveness. They were drawn to the fact that he talked about bringing people together and not about hate. This made me think about all the people — especially the PL many of whom are former republicans and can’t get past that ugly, fighting approach — who complain that PBO doesn’t “take it to republicans.” This is why. Our President understands that most Americans want to see a leader who’s not preaching hate and divisiveness. This is why so many were drawn to PBO and his message.
That’s not to say that PBO isn’t a fighter. We know that he is. He fought to win the nomination, election and his legislative victories. But he approaches the battles from a spirit of working with those willing to work with him.
One final thing, a young OFA staffer was not aware of all the pro-Obama blogs that are now doing such an awesome job of spreading PBO’s message and highlighting his accomplishments. I pulled up TOD on my iPhone, and he was amazed. He had seen the Oh baby clip but had no idea it had originated with Chips. I’ve sent him links to this site, BWD’s and others.
So we have a lot of work to do to spread info about PBO. A few days ago someone suggested we make items trend on Twitter. I think that’s excellent. Areas to consider:
1) anything, everything positive about PBO (we can make TOD or BWD stories trend.
2) expose republican policies and candidates (like we do here)
3) fundraise for PBO
4) rebut media lies (Rachel!)

1. Try to follow news outlets like @NBC, @MSNBC, The White House, @BarackObama and celebrities if you want to… 😉
2. When you follow these news and print outlets, and journalists, when they tweet crap or say crap on their tv shows then you can tweet them in a 140 characters or less about your displeasure.
3. If you want your topic to be a trending topic, i.e. a topic that people can click on and see your tweets and get more info, then use hashtags #. For example if you want people to know about The Obama Diary then do this: #The Obama Diary or #www.theobamadiary.com When you do this, you can tweet things about TOD and let more sane people know about this haven.
4. You can provide links of news articles, videos, pictures and comments from TOD so that misinformation can be devolved one tweet and link at a time.
5. When you tweet these so called msm types, you can sometimes end your comment with #The Obama Diary or #www.theobamadiary.com Since people in the public eye tend to have millions of followers, the followers can see your comment and be curious about TOD and if you keep hashtagging TOD lots of times, then maybe it’ll keep moving up in the trending topics log and journalists will know about this website and know that there are millions of us grassroots folks who are solidly behind PBO and rooting for him everyday.

As for the twitter thing, I think this is how you do it. To make a topic into a trending topic. Use your hashtags. #. For example: #The Obama Diary. When you use the hashtag, it then goes onto twitter’s trending topics and people can click on it and see links you’ve posted, and tweets you’ve written.
So I hope everyone here who uses twitter mentions The Obama Diary once in a while and more sane people, The White House and campaign people who work at President Obama’s HQ’s know that there are millions of us out there rooting for him. I sure will be doing the same on Facebook.

I went Hamsher after missing my train for work one morning last week. I blamed the President for allowing the train to leave the station before I made it to the platform.
Thank you all. I do it because I love our President and First Lady and because I know he is a man of integrity working for the good of everyone in this country. I had never, ever worked for a candidate or donated to a campaign until Barack Obama came along.

proud, very good work today. Proud of you myself. Nate didn’t become an Obama hater when he was hired by NYT. He was already one. Otherwise, he would not have seemed to sell out. He was waiting to be discovered and he like so many others knew the way to stardom was to hang on the coattails of the “star” at that time. I will never forget, and anyone can go look at the video of PBO’s inauguration. Never saw so many strange and happy faces for a man who they minimally knew, as well as the rest of us. It was only a matter of time that we would see who they really were. This was also the time I became more aware of the play in politics as I seriously abhor the sport. PBO was the most exciting politician I found I could put my trust in, and he has not disappointed me. The media stars, on the other hand, make me want to puke.
My beloved late husband used to say after watching a PBO speech, “I don’t know how anyone can not support this man.” There is no one like him and there will never be another. They come against him because his very presence shines the light on their shortcomings. He doesn’t have to say a word — just walk into a room.
God bless your late husband, proud. It slipped my mind how you just recently lost him. Hoping you are faring well. I see you have the spirit of fight in you still so I take it his memory helps to keep you in good stead. It always amazes me how anyone can possibly feel contempt for President Obama. I don’t think Nate is an Obama hater. I think he tries to be as objective as possible and is usually good where numbers are involved. Extraordinary circumstances of this Presidency, and Silver thinks he’s ordinary. No ordinary President could wade through the pile of shit President Obama has had to deal with, had to work with a dysfunctional at best, Congress, a media that is little more than a circus side show, and a population that for the most part is refusing to actively engage in the governmental process. Maybe hate is the wrong word, but I definitely have never felt he was a supporter, not even when he was crunching those numbers to the polls. Also, I thought he was a statistical analyzer, not a commentator. He needs to just go sit down and shut the hell up until he’s needed for his figures. I’ve never relied on him for anything else, and certainly won’t in the future. In fact, the absolute ONLY person I will listen to and watch is the POTUS, because he has earned my trust and respect.

Prosser allegedly grabbed fellow justice by the neck
Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice David Prosser allegedly grabbed fellow Justice Ann Walsh Bradley around the neck in an argument in her chambers last week, according to at least three knowledgeable sources.
That is just unacceptable. Even if he has not been arrested, he should have been immediately suspended by the judicial commission pending investigation. I hope they don’t try to cover this up and allow this a-hole to continue to serve.

This made me think about all the people — especially the PL many of whom are former republicans and can’t get past that ugly, fighting approach — who complain that PBO doesn’t “take it to republicans.” This is why. Our President understands that most Americans want to see a leader who’s not preaching hate and divisiveness. This is why so many were drawn to PBO and his message.
That’s not to say that PBO isn’t a fighter. We know that he is. He fought to win the nomination, election and his legislative victories. But he approaches the battles from a spirit of working with those willing to work with him.
One final thing, a young OFA staffer was not aware of all the pro-Obama blogs that are now doing such an awesome job of spreading PBO’s message and highlighting his accomplishments. I pulled up TOD on my iPhone, and he was amazed. He had seen the Oh baby clip but had no idea it had originated with Chips. I’ve sent him links to this site, BWD’s and others.
So we have a lot of work to do to spread info about PBO. A few days ago someone suggested we make items trend on Twitter. I think that’s excellent. Areas to consider:
1) anything, everything positive about PBO (we can make TOD or BWD stories trend.
2) expose republican policies and candidates (like we do here)
3) fundraise for PBO
4) rebut media lies (Rachel!)
So to the person who told me how to start that, would you please post it again? Many thanks.

I need to get better at Twitter. I have an account but am quite clueless how to make good use of it. Does anyone have tips they can share?
1. Try to follow news outlets like @NBC, @MSNBC, The White House, @BarackObama and celebrities if you want to… 😉
2. When you follow these news and print outlets, and journalists, when they tweet crap or say crap on their tv shows then you can tweet them in a 140 characters or less about your displeasure.
3. If you want your topic to be a trending topic, i.e. a topic that people can click on and see your tweets and get more info, then use hashtags #. For example if you want people to know about The Obama Diary then do this: #The Obama Diary or #www.theobamadiary.com When you do this, you can tweet things about TOD and let more sane people know about this haven.
4. You can provide links of news articles, videos, pictures and comments from TOD so that misinformation can be devolved one tweet and link at a time.
5. When you tweet these so called msm types, you can sometimes end your comment with #The Obama Diary or #www.theobamadiary.com Since people in the public eye tend to have millions of followers, the followers can see your comment and be curious about TOD and if you keep hashtagging TOD lots of times, then maybe it’ll keep moving up in the trending topics log and journalists will know about this website and know that there are millions of us grassroots folks who are solidly behind PBO and rooting for him everyday.

As for the twitter thing, I think this is how you do it. To make a topic into a trending topic. Use your hashtags. #. For example: #The Obama Diary. When you use the hashtag, it then goes onto twitter’s trending topics and people can click on it and see links you’ve posted, and tweets you’ve written.
So I hope everyone here who uses twitter mentions The Obama Diary once in a while and more sane people, The White House and campaign people who work at President Obama’s HQ’s know that there are millions of us out there rooting for him. I sure will be doing the same on Facebook.

proud, very good work today. Proud of you myself. Nate didn’t become an Obama hater when he was hired by NYT. He was already one. Otherwise, he would not have seemed to sell out. He was waiting to be discovered and he like so many others knew the way to stardom was to hang on the coattails of the “star” at that time. I will never forget, and anyone can go look at the video of PBO’s inauguration. Never saw so many strange and happy faces for a man who they minimally knew, as well as the rest of us. It was only a matter of time that we would see who they really were. This was also the time I became more aware of the play in politics as I seriously abhor the sport. PBO was the most exciting politician I found I could put my trust in, and he has not disappointed me. The media stars, on the other hand, make me want to puke.

My beloved late husband used to say after watching a PBO speech, “I don’t know how anyone can not support this man.” There is no one like him and there will never be another. They come against him because his very presence shines the light on their shortcomings. He doesn’t have to say a word — just walk into a room.

I don’t think Nate is an Obama hater. I think he tries to be as objective as possible and is usually good where numbers are involved.
