Hamsher is a closet republican masquerading as a progressive. Which is why I hate the label progressive, it stands for nothing but shifting sands. Either you are a Democrat or not.

That definition fits her to a t…and Taylor Marsh is not far behind.

The hate in those 2 was in clear evidence from the first moment of Obama’s candidacy, before he said or did anything. I don’t know whether Hamsher is a racist or Republican or a PUMA, or a combination, but I don’t really care. I have no use for her. She is an ugly hater without a conscience.

LOL! One of my signature lines at DailyKos was “It’s all Obama’s fault.” The PL babies didn’t like that one too much 😀 .

“First, supply-side quackery is only one of the gambits used to sell tax cuts.

There are other, older versions – notably the claim that government is wasting your money on vast armies of useless bureaucrats. Way back in 1964, in his famous speech on behalf of Barry Goldwater, Reagan talked about how crazy it was that the federal government employed 2.5 million civilian workers; nobody pointed out that two-thirds of those civilians worked either for the Pentagon or for the post office.

Second, Jon talks at some length about the media, and in particular about the Republican ability to get journalists to harp endlessly on supposed character flaws of Democrats, while their own candidates get a free pass. He emphasizes the right-wing echo chamber, but there’s more to it than that. It’s also – as I can report from my own experience – a result of asymmetrical intimidation. Quite simply, if you point out character flaws in a conservative, there will be an all-out effort, involving major media as well as blogs and talk radio, to discredit and ruin you, personally. This just doesn’t happen on the other side.

So journalists feel that it’s safe to ridicule Democrats, even if the supposed character-defining episode never happened; they choke up and shy away when it comes to Republicans. That’s why even the most grotesque stuff, like Giuliani’s claim that he’s a rescue worker too, or Romney’s remark that his sons are serving the country by helping him become president, doesn’t get picked up.

Third, I’m surprised that Jon doesn’t talk at all about the key political role of race in the political shift in this country. Reagan didn’t start as a supply-sider: he started as the enemy of welfare queens in their welfare Cadillacs. And what I’ve learned from Larry Bartels, Tom Schaller, and other political scientists is that race is really central to the whole thing. “

Hahaha gc. Nice one. I love the urban dictionary and they hit pure gold with this definition.

This definition could also be applied to Elizabeth Hasselbeck of The View. She goes Hamsher every freaking day on The View. If she woke up late, it’s PBO’s fault. If her kids act up, it’s PBO’s fault. If it rains in New York, it’s PBO’s fault. Gosh that child (yep she is not an adult b/c she refuses to act like one) is aggravating to say the least.

    • June 25, 2011 at 8:32 pm

It brings to mind that a lot of them can dish it, but can’t take it. Call them out and they get touchy-feeley.

The girl over at MSNBC who says that PBO was against the marriage equality vote in New York last night didn’t like it too much when she was compared to Rush Limbaugh.

There is an old guy at Gannett News Service — USA TODAy, Al Neuharth, who writes a weekly column, I think. Couple of days ago in his column, he compared the ridiculousness of Limbaugh on the right and that girl on the left and there was a feedback from her asking why he did that. Here, I will let you read it for yourself:

“…….My favorite was the three-hour comedy show by Rush Limbaugh. He airs on about 600 radio stations daily Monday through Friday, so you can get him almost anywhere. (Noon to 3 p.m. EDT) A smaller number of stations carry him on Saturday.
If you don’t take him seriously, his stuff is the most entertaining on the air. (Even more laughable is that some of my right-wing friends do take him seriously.)

For left-wingers, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow is almost as ridiculous as Limbaugh, but not quite as entertaining. Somewhat surprisingly, on that station Chris Matthews with his “Hardball” generally is pretty fair. He treats………. —AL NEUHARTH

“I’m sorry Mr. Neuharth doesn’t think much of me or ‘that station’ I’m on. Instead of just his insult, though, I’d love to hear something substantive about why.”
      — Rachel Maddow

      Go figure.

Perfect! I knew Rachel hates to be considered in the wrong, I just did not know how thin her skin really is. Toughen up Rachel, those that dish it better be sure than can take it. Look no further than President Obama if you need an example of thick skin.

These impostors think that they have one leg up against the President, because of the economy, but I have news for them. “Next year this time, we are going be in a different place, for this President is not stupid. He knew, the Republican would run on the economy, and doing all they can to destroy it in the process, but, they don’t know that the President is holding back too, for he wants them to commit on running on this, and use up all their talking points. So get ready, for things are going to change soon, for people has been getting in place, leaving their post, to work for the campaign. Hell will be breaking soon, when jobs start to increase each month, and the Republicans will only have to turn to smears, because that’s all they will have left. Just remember during the Primary, when Hillary was going to doom the Democrats at the Convention, and looked what happened then. Everything turned out beautifully! I will always but my trust in my President, always!

Happy Saturday, everyone. Just wanted to give a quick report on my OFA organizing meeting here in Indianapolis. In a word, it was awesome. People from all ages, ethnic groups, men, women — truly representative of PBO’s coalition and America. We are fired up and ready to turn Indiana blue once again. I will be hosting a house party this summer.

One OFA staffer brought his mom and dad who were visiting from England. I thanked them for the loving welcome they gave PBO and FLOTUS. They raved about our President and are going to work to make sure ex-patriots get all the information they need to vote in 2012. But I wanted to share a statement the young man’s mom made about the President. She said:

“Your president is the answer to peace, harmony and balance in this world.”

That statement took my breath away. This is how other countries see our brilliant president. They see what he does and accomplishes as affecting their country also. She said his re-election is not just critical to America, it’s critical to the world.

What a burden for our president to bear. But we know he is up to the task as he has done so masterfully already.

The other point I wanted to make is when we volunteers were introducing ourselves at the meeting and telling why we got involved, so many people said they were drawn to President Obama’s spirit of love and inclusiveness. They were drawn to the fact that he talked about bringing people together and not about hate. This made me think about all the people — especially the PL many of whom are former republicans and can’t get past that ugly, fighting approach — who complain that PBO doesn’t “take it to republicans.” This is why. Our President understands that most Americans want to see a leader who’s not preaching hate and divisiveness. This is why so many were drawn to PBO and his message.

That’s not to say that PBO isn’t a fighter. We know that he is. He fought to win the nomination, election and his legislative victories. But he approaches the battles from a spirit of working with those willing to work with him.

One final thing, a young OFA staffer was not aware of all the pro-Obama blogs that are now doing such an awesome job of spreading PBO’s message and highlighting his accomplishments. I pulled up TOD on my iPhone, and he was amazed. He had seen the Oh baby clip but had no idea it had originated with Chips. I’ve sent him links to this site, BWD’s and others.

So we have a lot of work to do to spread info about PBO. A few days ago someone suggested we make items trend on Twitter. I think that’s excellent. Areas to consider:

    1) anything, everything positive about PBO (we can make TOD or BWD stories trend.
    2) expose republican policies and candidates (like we do here)
    3) fundraise for PBO
    4) rebut media lies (Rachel!)

So to the person who told me how to start that, would you please post it again? Many thanks.

    Sorry for the long post.

        • 30 utaustinliberal
          June 25, 2011 at 9:47 pm

          1. Try to follow news outlets like @NBC, @MSNBC, The White House, @BarackObama and celebrities if you want to… 😉

          2. When you follow these news and print outlets, and journalists, when they tweet crap or say crap on their tv shows then you can tweet them in a 140 characters or less about your displeasure.

          3. If you want your topic to be a trending topic, i.e. a topic that people can click on and see your tweets and get more info, then use hashtags #. For example if you want people to know about The Obama Diary then do this: #The Obama Diary or #www.theobamadiary.com When you do this, you can tweet things about TOD and let more sane people know about this haven.

          4. You can provide links of news articles, videos, pictures and comments from TOD so that misinformation can be devolved one tweet and link at a time.

          5. When you tweet these so called msm types, you can sometimes end your comment with #The Obama Diary or #www.theobamadiary.com Since people in the public eye tend to have millions of followers, the followers can see your comment and be curious about TOD and if you keep hashtagging TOD lots of times, then maybe it’ll keep moving up in the trending topics log and journalists will know about this website and know that there are millions of us grassroots folks who are solidly behind PBO and rooting for him everyday.

          Hope this helps 🙂

Hey POB, haven’t seen you (virtually) today and now I know why. Thank you so much for your hardwork.

As for the twitter thing, I think this is how you do it. To make a topic into a trending topic. Use your hashtags. #. For example: #The Obama Diary. When you use the hashtag, it then goes onto twitter’s trending topics and people can click on it and see links you’ve posted, and tweets you’ve written.

So I hope everyone here who uses twitter mentions The Obama Diary once in a while and more sane people, The White House and campaign people who work at President Obama’s HQ’s know that there are millions of us out there rooting for him. I sure will be doing the same on Facebook.

Thank you all. I do it because I love our President and First Lady and because I know he is a man of integrity working for the good of everyone in this country. I had never, ever worked for a candidate or donated to a campaign until Barack Obama came along.

That woman from England’s words just blew me away. The world is depending on him.

Let me make sure I’m clear: The house party, of course, is to garner support and volunteers for the campaign. We will be developing a game plan for registering voters and laying the ground work to get out the vote. If dems come out, we win. The haters, Rs and PL know this. That’s why we are seeing this effort to depress and fracture the President’s base.

Inspired by the Urban Dictionary “Gone Hamsher” and the deplorable behavior of almost all broadcast news media ‘journalists’ – most recently as exemplified by the big lie told by Ms Maddow yesterday, I thought it was time to consider another submission to the Urban Dictionary. To wit:

“Newstainer” – Employees and ‘guests’ of major corporate broadcast radio, tv and cable organizations whose primary function is to generate cash flow by manipulating and sensationalizing any information, and, whenever possible, do so by also undermining President Obama, destroying the American middle class, eroding Medicare/Medicaid, privatizing Social Security, while continuing to undermine the American economy if that’s what it takes to defeat President Obama and Democratic candidates in 2012.

Anyone who’d like to edit it in any way and submit it feel free to do so – no pride of authorship on my part. But, did want to share it with all of you and I emailed it to Chipsticks, as well.

Nate Silver called PBO a mediocre president today. Seriously. I tweeted the hell out of him. He’s been incredibly pathetic since he sold out 538 to the NYT. He writes incredibly crappy columns now. I guess that’s what money is all about.

    • June 25, 2011 at 7:55 pm

He has not been on msnbc lately, and in order to get on tv, you have to disparage the president,

I hear your message. Here are some of Nate’s tweets today:

        fivethirtyeight Nate Silver
Someone really should do a series of blog posts on what if [LBJ / Clinton/ Kerry/ Carter/ etc.] became president in January 2009.

        fivethirtyeight Nate Silver
But who knows. Impossible to prove the argument. Still, I default toward assuming Obama is somewhere in the middle of the bell curve.

        fivethirtyeight Nate Silver
When I go through that thought experiment, it seems like there are about an equal number who would have done better and worse than Obama.

        fivethirtyeight Nate Silver
Rephrased: Pick a random post-WWII Democratic presidential nominee. How would they be doing as compared to Obama given the circumstances?

        fivethirtyeight Nate Silver
Here’s my radical hypothesis: Obama is a roughly average president, with a mix of successes and failures.

This makes me FURIOUS. It assumes so much that is NOT part of the context of PBO’s presidency. If you’re on twitter, hit him back.

        • June 25, 2011 at 8:20 pm

Nate Silver became an Obama hater the minute he was hired by the New York Times. These folks have no principles. They can be bought by the highest bidder. Shameful. And you’re right, he hasn’t been on TV in a long time. Trying to get some air time.

proud, very good work today. Proud of you myself. Nate didn’t become an Obama hater when he was hired by NYT. He was already one. Otherwise, he would not have seemed to sell out. He was waiting to be discovered and he like so many others knew the way to stardom was to hang on the coattails of the “star” at that time. I will never forget, and anyone can go look at the video of PBO’s inauguration. Never saw so many strange and happy faces for a man who they minimally knew, as well as the rest of us. It was only a matter of time that we would see who they really were. This was also the time I became more aware of the play in politics as I seriously abhor the sport. PBO was the most exciting politician I found I could put my trust in, and he has not disappointed me. The media stars, on the other hand, make me want to puke.

            • June 25, 2011 at 9:14 pm

              ThanK you, EDP!

My beloved late husband used to say after watching a PBO speech, “I don’t know how anyone can not support this man.” There is no one like him and there will never be another. They come against him because his very presence shines the light on their shortcomings. He doesn’t have to say a word — just walk into a room.

God bless your late husband, proud. It slipped my mind how you just recently lost him. Hoping you are faring well. I see you have the spirit of fight in you still so I take it his memory helps to keep you in good stead. It always amazes me how anyone can possibly feel contempt for President Obama. He is just not that kind of person that gives you bad vibes. Therefore, like I’ve always said about my late mother, if anyone dislikes her, it’s they who have the problem, not her because she was a beautiful human being. And I say whoever doesn’t like my President, I don’t like them 😀

                • June 25, 2011 at 9:44 pm

Awww, thank you for the sweet words. Yes, his memory is keeping me going. He’d crack up about me being on Twitter and warn me that big brother would be coming to cart me off. He really admired the President. And, like I said, what’s not to admire? PBO is a good man and an excellent President.

Bless your late mother. My mom has been gone for many years now, but she was that kind of person too. You just liked her. She could talk to anybody. No one was a stranger. She was the type who would give PBO a hug and not think anything of it. Not shy at all.

            • June 25, 2011 at 9:29 pm

I don’t think Nate is an Obama hater. I think he tries to be as objective as possible and is usually good where numbers are involved. He is so wrong though on the question he posed and very wrong on how Obama is doing so far. Note that he said it was impossible to prove the argument so basically he’s just talking out of his ass. And I don’t want to see any posts about how other presidents would have done in January 2009. Obama is the President.

Extraordinary circumstances of this Presidency, and Silver thinks he’s ordinary. No ordinary President could wade through the pile of shit President Obama has had to deal with, had to work with a dysfunctional at best, Congress, a media that is little more than a circus side show, and a population that for the most part is refusing to actively engage in the governmental process. Earth to Nate…..have a cup of coffee, you need to wake up. The more I think about what he said, without context it’s pointless speculation…why bother.

Maybe hate is the wrong word, but I definitely have never felt he was a supporter, not even when he was crunching those numbers to the polls. Also, I thought he was a statistical analyzer, not a commentator. He needs to just go sit down and shut the hell up until he’s needed for his figures. I’ve never relied on him for anything else, and certainly won’t in the future. In fact, the absolute ONLY person I will listen to and watch is the POTUS, because he has earned my trust and respect.

Thanks Jovie. We live in an awesome universe and we are like little babies who are just learning to crawl and discover the things around us. Love this kind of stuff!

Prosser allegedly grabbed fellow justice by the neck

Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice David Prosser allegedly grabbed fellow Justice Ann Walsh Bradley around the neck in an argument in her chambers last week, according to at least three knowledgeable sources.

OT, but just had to share this. What is with this man? First he calls another Justice a “total bitch” and now this.

Hey, Chips, how do I email you? You used to have a button on the side. I have a chart that I got at my meeting today which shows PBO’s accomplishments on LGBT issues from 2009-2011. I scanned it and want to send it you. Maybe it’s something we could send to Ray-chulll! We told the OFA staff that we need something like this for every issue — economy, ACA, etc.

OT: Obama attracting more small donors:
President Obama’s next major fundraising filing will show a dramatic increase in the number of small donors so far this year compared with 2008, his campaign said Saturday.

“We had 180,000 contributors at this point in the last campaign; now it’s well over 300,000,” said spokesman Ben LaBolt in an email previewing the upcoming filing. LaBolt declined to elaborate except to say in his note that the filing will show “small dollar contributors back in greater numbers.”

President Obama Says NY Gay Marriage Vote Is Process Working ‘As It Should’
President Obama supports equal rights for gay and lesbian couples and believes New York lawmakers’ vote to legalize same-sex marriage is an example of the process working “just as it should,” an administration spokesman said today.

“The President has long believed that gay and lesbian couples deserve the same rights and legal protections as straight couples,” White House spokesman Shin Inouye said. “That’s why he has called for repeal of the so-called ‘Defense of Marriage Act’ and determined that his Administration would no longer defend the constitutionality of DOMA in the courts.

“The states should determine for themselves how best to uphold the rights of their own citizens,” he said. “The process in New York worked just as it should.” …

In a down-to-the-wire vote, New York’s Republican-controlled senate narrowly passed a marriage equality bill by just four votes — 33 to 29.

It brought applause from the chamber floor and New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo quickly signed the bill into law… The law takes effect in 30 days.

    Twitter message from Think Progress:

Des Moines Reg poll: Romney 23. Bachmann 22. Cain 10. Gingrich and Paul 7. Pawlenty 6. Santorum 4. Huntsman 2.

My comment: That Huntsman is really going to save the republican party. He’s their Obama, don’t you know. Ha!
