Chips i don’t know if you saw my post yesterday. I’m looking for a vid you posted here awhile back. It’s President and Michelle seeing a friend at a fundraiser and they were surprised to see him. They both gave him and his wife a hug. Can you direct me to that vid, if you can? Thanks

    • June 24, 2011 at 8:00 am

HI aristac, sorry, missed your comment yesterday. That video doesn’t spring to mind – do you remember where it was or, roughly, how long ago it was posted? Give me a few more clues and I’ll find it for you!

      • June 24, 2011 at 8:07 am

Knew you would say that lol. I can’t remember when it was posted, i looked through so many last night. All I remember that it was two old friends of his and Michelle. I think it was a fundraiser event. The friends were standing in line waiting for Michelle and the President to reach them. First the Pres gave them a hug then Michelle. That is all i got lol, sorry. Oh and Good Morning,

I know which video you’re talking about. We looked at it only a few weeks ago – it’s on the tip of my tongue, and I’m going to help you search for it. They talked for a while, and it looked like they got an invitation to the White House or something. The President went to Harvard with the gentleman, and when Michelle came over, she talked to both of them for a long time, too. The President called Reggie over to get details or something. Trying to remember – age is not helping… 🙂

I remember that. It was at one of his recent Chicago fundraisers, I believe. Very attractive couple, old Harvard classmate and wife. They were greeted backstage. I remember Michelle looking especially gorgeous and she hugged the man very warmly. The man was as tall as PBO, if I recall correctly. And yes, I think PBO said they had to come to the White House.

Theo, I never saw this, and watching it for the third time….LOL….it is obvious that our President is a great schmoozer at parties. I mean, who could resist that out of this world smile and natural charm? My my my. And FLOTUS has the best girlfriend thing going on. Can you imagine being at a party with these two? What a great time, I bet. They are naturally warm and personable. Love em to death….no, to life 😀

Go Brooklyn. What? You thought you could stump Chica? Chips? The Chipster? Chipstix? STOP PLAYING.

Chipsticks is the official library and repository of “ALL THINGS OBAMA” and positive news stories about this administration . If a picture of the Obamas is taken, I’d bet my hard earned money that the chipster has it or knows where to find it (with the help of us diehard TODers!!) 8) 8)

Daily rundown leads with- Obama gets heckled at gay fundraiser.

They don’t want him fundraising. That is why they go after certain groups of the presidents base.

Money bomb next week, before end of month.

Coordinate this with all the pro Obama blogs.

  10. June 24, 2011 at 9:25 am

Chips, I won’t link to that lying rag GOPolitico, but they have a cute tidbit up about PBOs fundraiser with Whoopi. Nice picture of him giving her a kiss, too. Another sold out fundraiser. They cannot stop him.

“President Obama’s third fundraiser Thursday night was a stop at actress Whoopi Goldberg’s musical “Sister Act” at New York’s Broadway Theater.

The president, never afraid to follow a comedian, delivered a lot of laughs of his own to the sold-out 1,400-seat audience, saying that the “Sister Act” movie series helped him decide to which convent to send his daughters Sasha and Malia, who are “getting a little too old and a little too cute.”

Obama previously attended a $35,800-a-plate dinner for Wall Street executives and a $1250-a-ticket gay rights fundraiser.”

    • June 24, 2011 at 9:40 am

Hiya Proud, just read that at Time, posted a couple of pics and Mark Knoller’s tweet about the convent joke – love it! Sasha and Malia might not come back from Africa now! Thanks Proud 😉

awesome. read it, Bibi is ridiculous. It always amazes me when desperate people bite the hands that feed and protect them i.e.: The Yetti and PL-LGBT. Makes me want to give them a swift kick.

I knew it. I said not long ago that Bibi will come around to PBO’s way of thinking, somehow. Won’t read it there, but it will be out media soon enough. Gonna pat myself on the back…..LOL!

Gorgeous pictures, gorgeous First Lady, gorgeous First Family, gorgeous hosts!

    On a bit of a shallow tangent…

I’m excited that Mrs. O chose to visit Botswana on her trip for my own, purely selfish reasons. Beside the obvious benefits a trip of this nature can bring to the region, I’m hoping the exposure this trip gives to Botswana might also spur the producers at HBO to get on with doing a second season of The Number One Ladies Detective Agency. A lovely series, based on Alexander McCall Smith’s novels, starring Jill Scott and Anika Noni Rose), which happens to be set in Botswana. I love, love, love that series for more reasons than I can post today. Anyway, they’ve just gotta do a second season, they’ve just gotta! I’m wearing out my season one DVDs.

Our First Lady is own little multi-dimensional, international economic stimulus package! Am I right?. 🙂

You took the words right out of my mouth! I’ve read every one of those books and have been waiting anxiously for the second season of this wonderful series! It’s wonderful to know that the FLOTUS and her family are experiencing the love and the beauty of Botswana that Alexander McCall Smith so vivdly describes in his books.

Glad I’m not alone on this, Dakota. I haven’t read any of the novels yet, but I definitely plan to.

Now might be a good time for us to let HBO know how we feel.

Sounds interesting. Last year I was doing a little bit of researching on African countries, and found Botswana to be pretty stable. I think I will make it my first country to visit when I finally have the chance to visit the motherland.

Did you see the black female secret service agent at the end. That’s pretty cool. She’s the first one I’ve seen.

    • June 24, 2011 at 12:10 pm

Agree Jessica, it was really great to see her there with FLOTUS. Thanks Chips for keeping us up on this trip with the First Lady and family.. I’ve been super busy this week, trying to catch up on stuff after being sick there for several days… found out finally what all my pain was about: the cysts on my right ovary all burst!! When I finally had my CT scan last wednesday- it came back with no cycsts on the right side (there had been 2 the week before during the ultra sound) Anyway, I want to thank all of you for your well wishes to me.. back on my feet and pretty much pain free!

      Happy Friday TOD peoples 🙂

PS I’m really ticked about this Libya vote in Congress today- this should be about protecting the people of Libya and not some BS about hurting POTUS. What a small small bunch of cretins we have in our Congress.

More than that, Dems fall for the the Republican rouse — anyting to embarrass this president. Democrats and their fight for human rights. Yeah, unless it is PBO sphearheading the efforts.

        • June 24, 2011 at 3:27 pm

Yep it is hogwash. Some of the dems are such a letdown these days, there is a cowardice here that is so pathetic. I expect republicans to be greedy and selfish.. I’m disgusted that there always seems to be dem congress folk willing to join with repubs in their idiocy.

Every time I got down this week, I watched the baby video and it just brightened my day. Over a million hits!!!! That’s awesome. Everywhere else I read about how the democrats are mad at Obama (the ones in Congress) because not enough troops are coming home. There was almost a sense of delight about it. I also read that the latest poll (Bloomberg) shows the independents turning away from Obama again. I just don’t get it.
Anyway, thanks for posting the video again. It made my day.
