Now that’s the way an interview should be conducted. Two professionals having a conversation. Excellent.

I totally agree Karen. That is the comment I was going to make. It’s really ashame this type of interview doesn’t get out on the MSM where the American people can hear our thought, intelligent, detailed, articulate President. It’s not all about politics, all the time.

Good interview! The reporter asked intelligent questions and gave the President the respect and dignity afforded his status and allowed him to completely answer each question before moving on to the next. Thank you Chipsticks for posting this interview.

Don`t you just love that when THIS President sits in a one-on-one serious conversation he never seems moronic, uninformed, or flip!

You mean like El Bushie, the cowboy who Randi Rhodes once said has less animals on his ranch than she had in her apartment 😀

Brilliant! Every question answered clearly and completely without hesitation. And what a pleasure to have an interviewer who allows the president to complete his answers without interrupting.

Here’s a frightening thought, try to imagine how each of the potential GOP presidential candidates would have handled that interview.

I love this interview. I love to see our President given the respect that he brings to the interview and most of all the respect that is given to our President as he is being interviewed. This was a wonderful interview. You also see that the President gave a gentleman’s handshake to this interviewer and thanked him also.. Thanks so much for this one, Chipsticks. Really enjoyed it very much.

That’s my brilliant and astute President giving an intelligent interview thanks to the decency of the interviewer. Heck, I’m just repeating what all of you have said, but I must say, it is enlightening to see PBO allowed to present himself as THE President, not just President Obama. He is always at the ready to explain his position on matters and do so in depth. Only ignorant rethugs feel intimidated by his oratory.

I’m thinking we need to get the name of that interviewer and thank him for his graciousness. If we reward decency with praise, it may be the start of real journalism returning.

That’s the kind of intelligence and respect that anyone who interviews the President should show. I hope this interviewer just raised the bar and showed the others how it’s done. It not only shows respect for the President himself but for the country. It reflects badly on any nation to have its leaders treated disrespectfully. President Obama has been more than generous in his willingness to give interviews but some of them have acted very childishly.

I hope he never has to give another interview to the likes of Bill O’Reilly. I think he has earned the right to expect intelligence and respect from the people who come into contact with him.

The cable news channels could learn a lot from this man. He asked for and was given real solid information. So many of the people on cable news think their job is to get an emotional reaction from the people they interview. It’s all about sensationalism and stirring up emotions but we don’t get much factual information from it. They are serving their audience very badly.

I want to echo what most people have said: I really loved this interview; primarily because the interviewer asked important questions, and allowed the President time to answer without interruption. I am absolutely convinced that if the American people were exposed to this type of journalism their support of the President would be much higher than what is currently reported in the polls.

I still can’t find the name of the interviewer but here is a link to the contact page of VOA if anyone would like to send them a thank you.
