oh no…..

JonHuntsman.com

Oh dear. According to Steve Benen, Huntsman’s people forgot to register JonHuntsman.com – so when you visit the site the image above greets you, ie that glowing letter Hunstman wrote the President when he accepted the position of Ambassador to China.

And …..

ABC: Every detail of Jon Huntsman’s long-awaited campaign launch was meticulously planned, except of course for one minor detail: the misspelling of the candidate’s name. Members of the media were handed a press pass that read “John Huntsman for President” – adding an unnecessary H in the candidate’s first name. Huntsman’s staffers promptly scrambled to remove the passes from reporters before they caught the snafu.

****

Steve Benen: …. worse, visitors to Huntsman’s online donation page this morning saw this message alongside the contribution form:

If you prefer you can contact us by mail or by telephone.
Jon Huntsman for President
123 Main Street
Charlotte, NC 12345
(123) 456-7890

All of this is wrong, and was obviously just put in as placeholder text the campaign forgot to replace. As Jamison Foser noted, “So far today, Huntsman campaign has gotten his name, phone number & address wrong. That’s a rough day in first grade.”

That’s not all. The Huntsman campaign picked a location for the kick-off speech where the Statue of Liberty would be in the background, but put the television cameras in such a place where the Statue of Liberty wasn’t seen by viewers at home. Some pundits knocked the new candidate for a “bland, uninspiring speech,” and the cable networks didn’t stick with his remarks very long.

Well, at least Huntsman had a good crowd for the campaign launch, right? Wrong. Only “about a hundred” people showed up, and roughly 60 of them were political reporters…..

Hey Chipsticks, So, name, address, & telephone # wrong; just Wow! Can you imagine the kerfuffle if the prez had done this? I haven’t felt that chatty recently; just a sense of dread/depression with me that I get occasionally. Only good thing is the dread usually lifts in a few days.

You’re doing a great job, Chip; keep it up!

    Hi Chipsticks.

I’m still sick with the flu at home in bed but this really made me laugh.

Thanks for bringing a smile to my face. 🙂

Amateurs way out of their league.

Huntsman, trickery and underhandedness is thy name. Enjoy your slippery introduction to the big leagues.

Ouch. How could he not have purchased JonHuntsman.com? I read that he has a lot of the McCain folks wokring for him. All evidence points to this being true.

I know he can do a Paw(lenty) and do the roll out multiple times. Or better yet he can do a Newt and “being anew”.

The brilliant and hilarious p m carpenter weighs in on the Jon Huntsman presidential announcement…….

    HUNTSMAN LAUNCHES “2016” CAMPAIGN:

The Hill’s opening description of Jon Huntsman’s presidential candidacy announcement this morning inadvertently showcased his manifest unseriousness for 2012:

Former Ambassador to China Jon Huntsman (R) launched his presidential campaign Tuesday with an emphasis on leadership, and a post-partisan message [the latter, my emphasis].

An unmistakable declaration for 2016. Huntsman himself almost comically disclosed his intentions:

[Obama] and I have a difference of opinion on how to help the country we both love. But the question each of us wants the voters to answer is who will be the better president; not who’s the better American.

The man is so painfully contrived even his contrivance is so starkand obvious in its phoniness and fakery…

This is hysterical, though the rational part of me was hoping a little bit that he could eventually drag his party away from the edge of the ideological cliff instead of walking off it himself. Chips, one thing. Your first para under the pic says he wrote this on resigning the Ambasadorship. Oops, I’m sure you know he wrote it on first ACCEPTING the position. ; )

CoyotiMarti, thank you SO much for that great spot, my memory completely failed me, I thought the letter was written when he resigned. Thank you again! 😉

Wow! EPIC and unadulterated FAIL! How do you forget to buy your name for a website? As someone said on WeeSeeYou, “No weapon formed against PBO shall prosper.” These Repub candidates just ether themselves.

I used to think Huntsman would be acceptable for 2016, if there wasn’t a viable Democratic challenger, because he worked for President Obama and seemed moderate. Now, I think he’s just as dangerous as any other Republican. Maybe worse, since he’s used his children for campaign purposes, had business dealings with Iran, bragged about shipping more jobs to India and China than he created here. That’s not even counting his hearty endorsement of the Paul Ryan (aka “destroy Medicare”) plan and the end of the middle class.

Oh my gut hurts from laughing so hard!

These candidates and their staffs are like something out of a Three Stooges movie.
Yes, I’m old enough to remember them. 🙂

Quality is not an act, it is a habit. ~ Aristotle

Barack Obama: Quality, character, integrity, dignity and empathy built over the years through sheer hardwork, overcoming great adversity and good old American self-reliance…

Jon Huntsman: Spoon-fed act born out of pretense which soon fades away…
