Wow, Chips. I was heading off to bed but thought I’d check in one more time and what great videos. This one with a young Barack Obama gave me chills. He was serious then and seemed wise beyond his years. What a man.

Just got from my first neighborhood Organizing For America meeting. Tired but happy to again be stepping out of my own comfort zone to work on helping to re-elect our awesome president and getting him some meaningful in assistance in the House and Senate. Thank you for this beautiful nightcap of a video. You are becoming “The wind beneath my wings.”

“Let not the shining thread of hope become so enmeshed in the web of circumstances that we lose sight of it.” by Charles W. Chestnut 1858-1932.

I am counting on my young people to carry on with this shining thread, please. i trust you. My years are coming to closure, but you all give me hope for your beautiful futures. Take this beautiful gift in this man and keep that thread as strong as you can. I love you all. And I will do my part also.

Weave in faith and God will find the thread. I for one will never let go of hope. We are blessed by your grace and your wisdom HZ. Love you back!

Thanks for those inspirational words! I am not so young either but I refuse to give in the temptation of feeling old. I intend to do all I can to ensure that this good man serves another term, because America, and the world, needs him and his wisdom. I too hope the young will rise up and work for their futures and refuse to give in to those who want to return them to the idealized mythical past that never was. For us who lived during those times, and still remember, know that the idyllic past is nothing but a myth. For us, especially the people of color, the past was filled with a great deal of ugliness that we worked so hard to overcome.

It is really up to us young and old, of all races, but especially the young, to make a choice. We can choose to return to the ugly practices of the past, or we can sign on to help this president who is focused on bringing about a future that is bright for all Americans; and not just the rich and privileged or those who are deemed to be of the preferred race and color.

The election of President Obama was made possible by a beautiful rainbow of people. Lets stick together again and help ensure that he gets done most of what he set out do. In so doing we must always remember that we need to give him all our support, at all times, because he cannot do the job alone; especially when he has to contend with negative forces that would rather destroy than build a new society.

Thanks to Chipsticks for creating this beautiful space! And thanks HZ for your inspiration.

hello everyone….i have been coming to this blog for a lil over a month…i have enjoyed the commentary, the videos, and personalities here….the archives videos are extraordinary…and insightful….

sometimes they bring me to tears….

we are truly fortunate to have the President that we have and when i come here…it is reinforced…as you know the attacks on not only the president but also on working people….by the republicans have reached very high levels…the line has been drawn in the sand…

we must continue to reach out and rally our family…friends….and neighbors …to support the president…because the alternative is unthinkable….

Hi PF58, on behalf of the TOD family I welcome you to this space. Isn’t it wonderful to have a spot where you can pause and enjoy the President’s presidency without feeling like he’s under attack? 😆 Glad you feel ready to join in after a month of ‘checking us out’. 😉

This morning they are going after the Hispanic base of the presidents. Blaming the president for no immigration reform. The republican belart Diaz, just like choi, is ripping the president.

Is thus the GOP strategy? Find republican demographics in obamas base and rip him a new one?

Every two days or so its one of the groups of folks in his base. Its called “softening up” his base. They have been working on the AA vote for quite a while now. Last few days it was liberals and gays, now it is Hispanics. Lets see, have they done women yet? Oh yeah, Crhis Matthews covered that one. Next up I predict: white working class folks. They (nedia dn the GOP) are trying desperately to make it a contest. Good for the GOP, good for media profits. Yep, you heard it here first.
Its getting to be ridiculous. What makes me really mad is the dominance of the “fake” Netroots” on the internet. They are not real. They are motivated by media $. That’s their agenda. We need to take back the internet from these posers!.
The recent revelation that James Hamsler runs a media consulting company that works for GOP and Dems is really revealing. She ands her buddies have been driving this. She and Arianna Huffington. I really despise these media wh or e.s.

Yes, I confronted one of these “operatives” on the Old Orange yesterday. I got HR’d a few times of course, but I didn’t care. And I will continue to do so anytime I feel that someone is posing as a disgruntled black, Latino, LGBT, or other segment of the President’s base. These GOP shills should be exposed for trying to erode the President’s base with false propaganda. Where is Belart Diaz on John McCain’s scapegoating of Mexican immigrants on the Arizona fires? That’s Obama’s fault too?

      • June 21, 2011 at 7:43 am

The problem is the administration has it’s share of trolls. I find every article I read, they source administration officials. Well, that could mean anything, and it could mean that those hired by GW are leaking crap to the press.

No pushback from the presidents team, as usual. ONLY, only DWS defends the president from all theses strategies towards the president.

The GOP is really trying to rattle him!!!

        • June 21, 2011 at 7:55 am

And don’t even mention Luis guttierez, who refuses to acknowledge that there are about 7 senate democrats who are against immigration reform.
These particular, but important, issues are dismissed. Why?
