Me too, theo67. Children know, There is something so beautiful, trusting and genuine about children, they sense so much in a touch. The kindness and gentleness of our President’s holding must have radiated his calmness through the child. I just love this so much. I know I will go back to watch this over and over. It just warms the heart to watch. Mrs. Obama iseems shocked the child stopped crying when President Obama took her.

I think we can start calling our Pres the “baby whisperer”. He’s got that touch with babies and kids, that’s for sure. I have said before and I’ll say it again, kids sense they have a friend in President Obama, a safe and loving presence.

Sorry, I have something important to tell you.

I watched the beginning of The word and Dan Choi was on and he has a big hate on for Obama because of gay marriage issues. Not once did Larry defend Obama. Then he had that fool Adam Green on to say, that young people will not volunteer for Obama or vote for Obama because of gay marriage.
Larry did not offer a word of challenge to either one of them. The whole segment was about how many obama haters there are in the netroots. I just sent him a scathing email. Please help. Sent him an email and support the president.

Hope its okay to post this here as an open thread kind of thing.. an email from “J Street” which I hope you all will check out and support:

    Sheri —

As the summer heat hits, J Street’s proud to officially launch our “Two-State Summer” campaign to generate political support across our communities for the President’s vision for Middle East peace – and we need your help.

With Tea Party activists like Glenn Beck holding provocative rallies in Jerusalem to oppose any serious peace effort, rapid changes sweeping through the Middle East, and an upcoming UN vote on Palestinian statehood, this is game-time for the future of the two-state solution.

I’ve laid out our “Two-State Summer” campaign strategy in a special video message to J Street supporters like you.

Click here to watch the video and pledge to get involved.

Whether it’s hosting a house meeting in your community, spreading the word to your friends or just signing a postcard to your Representatives, we need you to stand up for a two-state solution and a democratic, secure, Jewish Israel.

Join me in showing our elected officials how many of us support the vision of President Obama, Prime Ministers Rabin, Barak and Olmert, and countless others – and reject the unrealistic and dangerous rhetoric of those opposing sensible moves to achieve a two-state solution.

For tools to help you get equipped to spread a message of urgency around the two-state solution – including statements, FAQs, commentary, and more – click here to visit our resource page on standing with the President.

Thanks for all that you do,

Just show you POTUS is a great father, ( of course FLOTUS is a great mother). But Sunday is Father’s Day, so I will give POTUS a pat on the back. Love that video.

I had a little time so I perused some of the blogs. I am shocked at the outrage from the left. The word out there is that the democrats are going to pay in 2012 for what has happened to Weiner. So the country will punish the president because Weiner had freaky sexual encounters?

I was up-set Weiner had a press conference to announce his resignation. I kept saying he sure loves the camera. So back to the issue; since when does the party take the blame for a government official’s heinous behavior?

I am happy to say this is my last statement on Mr. Weiner unless he shows up with his own cable show.

    • June 17, 2011 at 1:44 pm

Don’t be shocked at the outrage, be shocked at their ignorance and complete overestimation of Weiner, his importance and how much people care about the whole thing.

      June 17, 2011 at 1:57 pm

Yeah, that’s just silly. Apropos for the silly season. These people seem to think they have way more power than they do. Come Nov. 2012, voters will have completely forgotten about that weasel.

Aside from being legends in their own minds, they thrive on this crap because it is a money making venture. Whip up a frenzy for some who are easily swayed and viola. As much as they jump from one issue to another, one has to wonder if they don’t have a problem with whiplash.

The PL lost touch with anything resembling reality a long time ago. I’ll bet a poll would show the Democrarts are relieved he quit, and this will have no bearing on the election. It may not even have impact on his own district.. The PL is certifiable. (I used to work with people with mental illness, so do not use the “off meds” expression. I LIKED my clients, the PL, not so much)

The PL likes ventriloquist’s dummies. They sit, keep their mouths closed, and the words heard are straight from the donkey’s mouths. And when I’m feeling really bitter, I wonder if they would also prefre if the dummies have light pigmentation.

Hopwever should the dummy come to life, like in the horror movies, and go off script – firewood.

Sorry – I really despise the PL!

I still don’t get why the President and democrats should pay for Weiner lying to his wife? Nobody forced him to show his privates to strangers while married and to lie his ass off about it for the world to hear.

I swear I worry for the sanity of those democrats. They simply don’t make sense at time. You’d think they’d turn their anger on Weiner the culprit instead of everyone else 🙄

I don’t care about Vitter and his prostitute;well I take it back.I do.Just like I thought Weiner should have left;days ago;Vitter (not too late imho) has got to go just as well 😡

So the Dems are going to suffer in 2012 . . . Someone should remind them what they got in 2010! Michigan, Florida, NJ, Ohio, etc. are so unhappy right now. Union busting, voter suppression, education cuts, food programs cuts, etc. As the saying goes, “don’t cut off your nose to spite your face”!

This guy is such a total and absolute Putz. The repugs figure if you can’t find a black repug version of PBO( case in point why Herman Munster is so high in the repug polls), use an idiot white wanna -be copy : Mittens, and if all else fails, go for the fat-ass bully. “If we can’t fight fire with fire, we’ll cheat and use our version of an extinguisher”. That is one of the things that I have found so striking about photos of them lately at formal events as they wait, you will see photos where they both have identcal expressions on their faces, which conveys just how much in tune their spirits are and how emotionally aligned they are.

It says over and over ‘nothing but love here’.

Our nation is so blessed to have a couple who genuinely revel in their love and intimacy openly.
    Never get tired of it.

Doesn’t earn them any brownie points with the rest of the public. The majority of true progressives support this administration. Does anyone with a sane brain really think that a year and a half from now anyone is going to care about what happened to Wiener? Just like the fringe right, these people are loud, but they are even smaller in number than the right fringe. It’s good that people are contacting them and pushing back. They can go off by themselves and pout, while the rest of us are being productive.

Sharpton was on MSNBC bitching and moaning and whining about how we should have stood up for Weiner

They should start letting people know about voters suppression laws being enacted all over this country and such

They will, any day soon now Corny and Tav-tav will bring the ‘blacksploitation brigade’ to the repugs.
“blacksploitation brigade”- (Noun, Adjective). A minutia of the black populace who are highly elitist and do not really give a damn about black struggle but will willing make oodles of dollars writing and talking about the unfairness and inequalities associated with being black in America. These people drive fancy cars, eat and drink fancy meals and wouldn’t know where to find a “ghetto” if it hauled off and kicked them in the ass. Blacksploitation brigade: Synonym: Assholes.

All I need to know about her racist attitudes towards minorities is the fact that she started the “tea party” caucus in the House – and the tea party is made up of a bunch of racists who want to take their country back to the time of the Confederacy and slaves. Anything after that fact is useless.

        • June 18, 2011 at 12:42 pm

Yeah and remember that she invited those tea-party people to Congress- who then proceeded to spit on our African American Congresspersons.. this is how she ‘cares’ about AA folk in America. This puts me in mind of Arianna Huffington hooking up with Tavis Smiley and starting a blog geared supposedly to African Americans… anyone know whatever happened to that little endeavor? I’ve heard nothing about it recently. But I had no doubt it was one more way of attempting to turn Black voters against POTUS.

There is going to be so much divisiveness in this election, I honestly believe it will be one of the dirtiest elections in our history.. especially when we see who’s running for the repubs and when we have such creatures as Choi, et al playing their little reindeer games.

Fracking Chris Mathews ended his show tonight talking about how PBO isn’t doing anything for women in politics: how there aren’t in any high rank positions in his admin especially in comparison to Batshit Bachmann who is running for prez. He was like, Dem women will be wondering why the party hasn’t been as good to women as the repug party is. WTF???!!!!!!! Are you kidding me? Repugs are decimating women’s rights left, right and center!!! Sometimes I wonder about Chris. I really do. Fracking idiot!!! And didn’t PBO put 2 women on the Supreme Court. Hasn’t he put alot of women in powerful positions in his admin? WTF?!!! Just because the more visible positions are held my men, doesn’t mean the women don’t exist! You see Holder and Geitner because they HAVE to be seen! What an ass. That shit’s really beginning to piss me off.

I like how Pfeiffer was like: “If you get another president, all we just talked about before will disappear…” Truth to power baby. It’s something these a-hole Parasite Losers don’t seem to get. When I was growing up, my uncle would say: “those who can’t hear, will feel.” Since the PL are forcing themselves not to hear, one day, they will feel the consequences. But of course they will blame PBO for it, just like they blamed him for the 2010 shellacking, saying that it was his fault. Not theirs for 2 years of demoralizing the base and advising them not to vote in order to teach PBO a lesson. A-holes, wish they would disappear off the face of the planet 🙄 🙄 🙄

Thank you for the list Meta. I was so furious after seeing his “report”, for the first time ever I decided to write to Mr. Matthews using your list. Unfortunately I started on this composition before seeing your additions Margaret Hamburg and Monica Sutphen. I did, however, make the point.

              Dear Mr. Matthews:
What in the world are you talking about? Gender imbalance in the Obama Administration and the Democratic Party? What has happened to your memory? Because it must be too difficult for you to fact-check yourself, I will offer you a list of the following top-tier women in the Democratic Party and Obama Administration appointees:

Nancy Pelosi – House Minority Leader and former Speaker of the House
Debbie Wasserman Schultz – Chair of the Democratic National Committee
Sonia Sotomayor – Associate Justice, US Supreme Court
Elena Kagan – Associate Justice, US Supreme Court
Hillary Clinton – Secretary of State
Janet Napolitano – Secretary of Homeland Security
Kathleen Sebelius – Secretary of Health & Human Services
Hilda Solis – Secretary of Labor
Susan Rice – US Ambassador to the UN
Christina Romer – White House Council of Economic Advisers
Tammy Duckworth – Assistant Secretary for Public and Intergovernmental Affairs, Veteran’s Affairs
Valerie Jarrett – Senior White House Advisor
Melody Barnes – Domestic Policy Advisor
Nancy DeParle – Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy
Carol Browner – Administrator of White House Office of Energy and Climate Change Policy
Lisa Jackson – Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency
Regina Benjamin – US Surgeon General
Karen Gordon Mills – Administrator of the Small Business Administration

In this day and age, women are an informed electorate. Thank God we do not just receive our news from what’s merely spoon-fed to us via cable news and so-called mainstream media news shows. We have a world full of media and information via the web. We can watch news and read articles from all over the world. That’s why we know there has been more important news happening in our country and the world than Anthony Weiner exposing himself or Donald Trump overloading the airwaves with disproved gibberish.

As an informed, mature voter, I do not think that the Republican agenda will bode well for them in the end. Their agenda actually attempts to mutilate issues women care about in the name of greed and protection of the wealthiest in this country. Women are actually informed enough and smart enough to see this.

Lastly, these days I sometimes wonder whether I’m actually watching MSNBC or some slowly-morphing version of FOX at work. I am finding it more and more difficult every day to watch MSNBC. Too bad, because I miss the old MSNBC. You know, the one that actually gave us counterpoint news stories we could think about. The one that existed before Comcast bought you out.

This is exactly why I stopped watching Chris Matthews ages ago!!! He is glib and will often play these strange but dangerously misleading political games that he passes off as “astute” political commentary!!!

He plays to every side and speaks from every side of his mouth just to remain “appealing” to a diverse audience; But he ends up losing credibility because he constantly contradicts himself and deliberately ignores facts just to fit his narrative of the day!!!
I’ve always alos thought that anybody who would defer to Pat Buchannan for anything or for any reason has to be as much a lowlfe as Buchannnan and as intellectually dishonest!!!

I hope you don’t take this as an insult, but Chris Matthews NEEDS TO SHUT THE F#&K UP!!!! First, Michelle Bachmann HAS NOT WON THE NOMINATION YET!!!! You get that Chris? Two, just because Rep. Bachmann has a uterus, that doesn’t mean women will all of a sudden abandon the President for her. I thought we would have topically learned this after Republican Vice-Presidential nominee Gov. Sarah Palin. Seems not. I would have thought that Matthews would have realized that women care about views whether or not the chief candidate is a woman, but it seems that Matthews is drinking the juice called Beltway Fulloshitness.

Exactly. I’ve thought for a while that upon PBO’s ultimate successes, rethugs saw the cards and had to devise a Rovian strategy to minimize the “apparent” size of our base, and to maximize their fortunes. They found willing people to pass as progressives, had them tear into PBO to fracture his base. Like Malcolm said, you’re being bamboozled. Remember PBO used this same phrase and I know he wanted to break out into full Malcolm X mode on that podium….LOL. So far, everyday working folk are not buying it. If we continue fighting the smears, everyone in the base will be fully knowledgeable to bring a win to PBO in 2012. We have to be “bigger” than the haters, and we can only do that with the cool and drive offered to us by POTUS’s daily example.

Olberman is worse, Me4O. Don’t let the fact that he’s been gone for about 150 days fool you. That man is the mouthpiece of the Parasite Losers. I’d rather watch Glenn Beck than Olberman.

You know, after watching Lawrence O’Donnell, I believe he is on to Dan Choi and is going to have him back on the show, but not to give him a license to bash the President, but to challenge him. The fact that O’Donnell took the time to emphasize that he does in fact vote I believe was a message to people like Choi and those PL (Keith Olbermann I’m looking at you) who think that they can get away with sneakily trying to let the Repubs win by sitting home pretending to be unhappy with PBO..

Well he has David Axerold on Monday I trust Lawrence sometimes but today he really let me down. Dan Choi happy that Breitbart was cheered? Why was Breitbart invited? Can someone tell me why?

Well, for one thing, that statement has exposed Choi. He really cannot hide behind the guise of “progressive” much longer. Breitbart is one of the most dispised figures among progressives. So if Choi is openly showing fondness for Brietbart, in what light does that put him? I think O’Donnell is giving him enough rope and soon he will hang himself . These media whores soon get the attention they crave – but not in the way they expect. We just had a very recent example. Choi and his Libertarian advisors need to start taking notes

Isn’t Breitbart the one who apparently “took down” their beloved Weiner? So,why were they cheering him at Nutroots? Sounds like a tea bagger rally, if you ask me.

Hopefruit2, I hope you’re right, because I just above accused O of being a backslider. If he indeed has this as a tactic to a larger strategy, I will be on guard to see for myself. I just don’t trust these yoyo’s called pundits. You never know exactly what they are.

Here’s my letter to Lawrence, didn’t watch the show, don’t care to, regardless of why Lawry invited him, the fact remains: HE SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN:

    Dear Lawrence,
I really love you and your show, and have been a loyal viewer since you started The Last Word when you had the ten o’clock slot. Normally I ignore MSNBC and other republican shill “news” stations, along with Professional Left ideologues like Rachel and Ed. I always know that I can turn to you for sound, clear-cut information, informed by experience and common sense- not so for Rachel & Co. However, tonight I was gravely disappointed when I turned the station and saw that your opening segment was about Nutroots and that Republican shill in Progressive clothing-Dan Choi aka Obama Hater. The professional left, in my and millions of other Democrats and Independents’ humble opinions, are akin to the Tea Party. They are extremists who do nothing more constructive than sit on their lazy asses all day and complain about getting only 85% of what they wanted instead of the 100%. They have done more damage to the Democratic Party than the Republicans and that’s saying alot coming from me because I dislike the Congressional Republicans A LOT. The Professional Left are solely responsible for the 2010 Shellacking. They spent two years cursing and blaming the president, demoralizing the base and threatening and advising Democrats not to show up on election day in order to punish the President. Well, it seems as though they got their wishes, only, it’s not just the president who is being punished, but the American people with Republican voter suppression laws, attacks on Medicare and Social Security, slashes in jobs and social programs, union stripping bills/laws and the attack on women’s reproductive rights. The PL can kiss my ass. They are useless, worthless and full of total and absolute crap. I’m so sorry you wasted your time today doing a report on their self-centered pouting and ungrateful spouting off. Dan Choi is not a credible guest and he is ill-humored and bad tempered i.e.: Tweeting that Harry Reid was a female reproductive organ that bleeds once per month, because Herr Choi didn’t think the Democrats were moving quickly enough on DADT when Choi’s Log Cabin buddies were too busy voting against the Repeal Bill in the House. He does nothing constructive but overcharge people for the illustrious honor of his company and shit advice. He is disgusting and I’m very disappointed that you got your hands dirty tonight with him. It’s my hope that you will refocus on what’s important which is the dishonesty and lazy nature of the republicans and their desire to destroy our social compact with the elderly, the poor and the disenfranchised.
Good night and have a pleasant weekend,

Can someone tell me why Andrew Breitbart got invited to nut roots. Please, if anyone has any clue do educate me on this because I thought the PL where upset that Anthony Weiner resigned and Breitbart was the root cause. OR was it Obama’s fault according to the PL.

Nutroots is a repug shill organization. The fact that Choi was there says enough.

Apparently, the PLs and their fauxgressive supporters believe that it is the fault of President Obama that Weiner sent pics of his naked weiner to random women on Twitter. And it’s also President Obama’s fault that Weiner had to resign.

This is what I’m getting from those losers. And I think Andrew Breitbart got invited to Nutroots because like all 2,000 attendees (what a crowd!!), he too is racist and hates the President with the fire of a thousand suns.

I have to wonder is he mentally disturbed? I mean, since the DADT debate, I mean, remember Col. Victor Fehrenbach?

Throughout that whole thing, not once did I hear the Presidents a coward or inept from him. He just wanted to serve openly and after the signing, he felt elated and is now serving the nation he loves. THIS SHOULD BE A PROGRESSIVE HERO!!!!!!!!!!! I see Dan Choi, and all I see is a guy who thinks hes a revolutionary. He was made the face of the DADT debate and is now gunning for the Gay marriage debate, stemming from a position the President held, not in 2008, where this would have mattered, but in 1996, when President Obama was breaking into politics.

I don’t think Breitbart was invited to Nutroots. Here is a video of him getting chased out. He deserved every minute of it.

Dan Choi is mentally ill. You can see it when you watch an interview. His smile isn’t real, his eyes are dark. IIRC he comes from a devout religious family and his parents, especially his father, disowned him when he came out.

He’s also a terrible messanger given his over-the-top hate of the President. He turns off more to his cause than attracts them. Also notice how quickly he jumped from DADT to Marriage equality – he craves the spotlight. The real activists pushing for marriage equality must cringe everytime this guy has a mic in front of him. He’s vile and it oozes trhough the camera.

Someone like him is unhinged enough to open gun fire in a crowd. Without me having ever heard or watched him, just from reading about him, he is a real psychotic type. When nothing satisfies, what else do you have but fear, loathing, and hatred? Everybody should watch out for this guy.

EDP4BHO, your first sentence resonates – in fact, I’m about to write a diary on DKOS which points to this very issue. I’m extremely concerned about this guy and his Libertarian streak (which includes a liking for guns).
