a word from tally: time to help and stop hurting our own cause

by Tally

NO ONE is going to Primary Obama. NO ONE. Obama is our candidate. Anyone who thinks he’s as bad as anyone in the GOP hasn’t been paying attention to what’s been happening all over the country. They really don’t know about the union busting in WI (and the rest of the US), or the anti-birth control legislation in OK, or the fact we’ve got a chance of at least THREE Supreme Court nominations coming up in the next 5.5 years, or the fact the GOP is trying desperately to get rid of HCR, or to take away voting rights, or make the Bush tax cuts permanent…. the list is fucking endless. I’m glad Elizabeth Warren hasn’t taken any small planes….

Voting third party or a no vote for POTUS is no different than all the Nader voters in 2000. If anyone thinks there won’t be a fight like Bush v Gore in 2012 if the election isn’t a complete landslide, needs their head examined. And NO, no one gets a pass for not participating. Everyone who abstains is responsible. A viable third party without instant runoff elections is a fantasy, as much as some people might desire it, so stop chopping off you’re own head!

Yes, I KNOW many want Obama to be more of a fighter. But while wanting him to physically slap the shit out of every loser in DC might be very satisfying, it’s an infantile fantasy. Most Americans don’t want their POTUS to be the schoolyard bully that Bush Jr was….. but that’s neither here nor there.

Obama is still PARSECS better than any other candidate out there. The biggest problem is the dysfunctional congress WE, THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, sent to work with Obama. It’s not Obama’s fault that there are such a bunch of fucktards in both the House & Senate who refuse to work with him, and an entire opposition party who’s only goal is to destroy him, even if that means destroying the country along with him…. THAT’S OUR FAULT FOR SENDING THEM THERE. WE MUST OWN THAT.

WE must OWN that there are pathetic BlueDogs™ who are bought and paid for whores. WE must OWN the fact we didn’t send enough progressives to the SENATE to get past the 60 Magical Vote requirement the GOP stuck to because THEY COULD. WE MUST OWN the fact that so many disgruntled spoiled baby Dems who were easily swayed by all the negative braying about Obama didn’t do XYZ…. and stayed at home and didn’t vote in 2010.

The Rolling Stones are absolutely correct: You can’t always get what you want. And you certainly can’t demand that ANY President work alone, or undo 50+ years of systematic deregulation and destruction of the Middle Class, and The New Deal, and the greatest transfer of wealth in our country’s history, over fucking night.

We’ve become a selfish ME society that demands instant gratification regarding ANYTHING, and we have memories of goldfish. Government change isn’t a sporting event. Obama has gotten a lot done in the face of AN EPIC, WELL FUNDED OPPOSITION, THAT COMPLETELY OWNS THE MEDIA in two and a half years including HCR, shooting the shit out of Somali Pirates, and taking out OSAMA BIN FUCKING LADEN.

It’s time to single out who in both houses of Congress we want IN, and who we want OUT. NAME THEM. NAME THEIR REPLACEMENTS AND WHY….

It’s time to help, and stop hurting our own cause.

Every day you should be screaming about being held hostage by a minority who wants 60 Magical Votes in the Senate. And screaming about the ridiculous threat to not raise the debt ceiling, and trying to end Medicare etc – SCREAM ABOUT GETTING RID OF THE SS/MEDICARE CONTRIBUTION CAP SO EVERYONE PAYS THE SAME % INCLUDING THE SUPERRICH.

NAME the Dems who actually fight, and are trying to introduce jobs legislation, then NAME the GOPERS who refuse to allow those bills even to come to the floor……

Obama has gotten a mountain of shit done so far in the face of mind-boggling opposition. For that he needs to be called Superman! Just think how much more he could have done had he had the Magical 60+ votes in the Senate, and a supermajority in the house! If that had happened, everyone would be lining up to suck his dick instead of whining about how less than perfect he is.

(Sorry my TOD family for my potty mouth…….)

I would also add that a lot of water is going to pass under the bridge before this time next year … and certainly before Election Day, 2012.

President Obama is very much going to influence that flow, in ways that should be obvious, but clearly isn’t to the professionally lame and unhinged (yes, Jane, GG, Dan, Kos, Corny … I’m looking straight at you), and certainly isn’t to the professionally incompetent, willfully destructive Republican (aka white supremacist teabagger) Party.

Didn’t mean to Doris. If you name one of them, you’ve named them all. KO is delusional so a big fish in a very small pond (aka CurrentTV) is perfect for him.

Yes, Keith’s return is not being welcomed by me – he’s quite destructive, at times, and rarely useful. And he’ll be even more obnoxious as he tries to gain more and more viewers. I won’t be spending a second of my time watching him. It’s been quite peaceful with him gone…

Let me just quote from that grant park speech of that historic day. “If there is anyone out there who still doubts Obama can do his job as POTUS, who still wonder what the fuck he has done before American People gave the House back to Obstructionists, then this book is your answer – The Promise, President Obama, Year One”.

Anyone who admires this guy like the regulars of this blog and anyone who is with independent view must read it. Tea Party morons, excused.

I’m 100% with you, tally! Don’t get mad, get even. We’ve got ourselves mobilized via Twitter, emails to media outlets, and wonderful pragmatic blogs. Let’s keep the momentum going. These pukes won’t steal my thunder. No wonder PBO doesn’t pay attention to them. He recognizes a gaggle of tools when he sees them, and so do we.

Welcome back Chips. To answer your early question, no I can’t seem to log in from work, even though I adjusted the setting to allow me to see my type on Internet Explorer. When I get to the log in, I hit button, but then can’t proceed anywhere. Don’t be too concerned, it’s probably something my son can inform me on. Thanks for your help and all you do here, which is great. If I haven’t told you ever 😀

I was on DK earlier. I check out the NN photos – always curious to see what these losers look like. Mr Blades gained tons. Heh. But what caught my eye was a piece of garbage by the Jim Ignatowski of the Blogs (OPOL) Those people despise Obama. It sickens me. But what boggles the mind, is how STUPID they are. “Take it to the streets!!!” WTF does that even mean?!!!

Tally’s rant was fine with me but, I try to avoid using “tards” in any context. I am a proud supporter of people with disabilities and I believe that is where the suffix originates. As a matter of fact, if my physical state improves, I’m going to volunteer to help with the Special Olympics.

I know so many worry (especially poor BWD – on a break) but I don’t believe the PL have the power they believe they have. We will trounce them.

Thank you for posting Tally’s piece, Chipsticks. And thank you for the clever captions and article titles you creat – always makes me smile.

In an article about Netroots on TPM, a commenter made the point about Naderites keeping Gore from winning, so we got stuck with Bush. Some responded that they didn’t care, that the only sensible choice is to vote for the Greens, that if Nader had (by some miracle) been elected, we’d have marriage equality right now. And I thought, “Nader? Are they kidding?” Nader, the guy who said he didn’t care anything about “gonadal politics”?

    • 48 lisalovesobama
      June 18, 2011 at 11:10 am

I’m sorry Monala. It serves no purpose to try to understand these lackwits. It’s almost like they are genetically stupid, or else, why would so many of them do and say so many stupid things like: “having a republican prez would be no different from having PBO.” WTF? They are psychotic and as much as I really, really try to be God-like in my actions, thoughts and behaviors- I can’t turn the other cheek when it comes to the PL. They, much like Gadhafi, MUST GO. I know Dems have a big tent, but when the host body is being overrun with diseases, gangrene or parasites, we need to remove them so it doesn’t destroy everything and everyone else. If they want their third party, let them have it! What we need to understand is that these people never supported or voted for PBO to begin with and they never will. If they were going to support PBO, they wouldn’t be spending so much time manufacturing outrage and trying to paint PBO as Bush-lite. Trust me, those turncoats are probably right now searching for a smoking gun for PBO in order to discredit or destroy him. They sicken me and I hope SS has them tightly under surveillance, especially that psychopath Dan-Frackface-Choi.

        I agree, especially with:

“If they were going to support PBO, they wouldn’t be spending so much time manufacturing outrage and trying to paint PBO as Bush-lite.”

I honestly think they’re all the Hilary supporters who are still angry about Obama beating her in the primary, and have delusional fantasies about her actually running again, which she won’t

I’m just sad they can’t see that she can do far more good either on the Supreme Court, or as head of the IMF (which she apparently wants.)

(GINORMOUS SIDEBAR ALERT) ——– In regards to gc’s very valid comment up the page: (I wanted to put this here, so more people would see it, and not have it get lost in a side road above….) cuz ya got to be responsible for the things you do and say….

(incoming endless late night verbosity and babble….. you have been warned…)

I understand your aversion to the use of “tard.” And I really respect you and am on board with you completely as an entire word when coupled with the pre “re” in front of it. However, as a suffix, I would ask permission to change it’s usage and, perhaps, REFINE it’s definition. Yes, I know, most people will argue that they are no different… and they’re by and large correct…. but I shall argue my small point anyway….. because it’s late, and I feel a fit of prolixity coming on……

Example 1 – entered into evidence:
    Be little = be small
    belittle = insult

so…following that logic, with and without/separate usage:

re + tard = extra/again tard, which regular tards (willfully ignorant, anti-education, basically proud to be stupid people), apparently began using to differentiate themselves from people with Down’s Syndrome (largely because they didn’t understand the condition, were jealous of the chromosome they were lacking, and didn’t have the patience and capacity for love that Down’s people are born with (yay for the trisomy of the 21st chromosome!!!) They understood their own shortcomings in these areas, and because they lacked the skills to improve their own situation (get better health care, and wages for example), they had to tear their competition down so that NO ONE CAN HAVE ANY. (sound familiar?) – Look, I know that’s a stretch, but bear with me…

I had a brother who had Down’s, who died when he was two, and he was a frakkin SUPER GENIUS, always smiling, full of love for every living creature he came in contact with on this planet, compared to the – yes, I’m going to use that suffix again, FUKTARDS in DC (as an example.)

There are some words I believe you have to OWN, and redefine. The “N” word is one example – its metamorphosis from degrading noun to a descriptor that carries affection and respect I find quite empowering, and I’m a silly white girl.** (see link below for humorous example of awesome use of the new “N” word.)

Yes, I know there are some people who don’t want to even look at that bridge, let alone cross it, and that’s their right (and coming from some silly Scottish/irish/Cherokee/Choctaw blonde girl doesn’t mean shit.)

So allow me to introduce a word which 99.999999² x π x ∞% = rage for every woman on the planet: So vile, even I cannot dare use it here….. yes, I’m talking about THE C WORD.

I say, we as women, need to OWN THAT WORD. Be PROUD of it, as in: “No, no…. That’s C^nt-TESS to YOU, (you poisonous bunchback’d toad.)”

Just like burning a flag can have many meanings (and is REQUIRED when our flag has been sullied by touching the ground.) It doesn’t matter WHY you burn it, (the reason is yours, and yours alone), but that you CAN. People fought hard and blood was spilled to give you that right. To take it away would only render that beautiful flag meaningless of the liberty it represents.

So back to the suffix TARD and other words people have used as weapons to inflict hate and pain – and their redefinition and OWNAGE by those who would empower themselves and not allow the fuck(wads?) to belittle you….. (yeah, okay, I can use that word too), but I think it’s important to not allow those who would insult and strive to cause you pain, any power. Like that fuckwad harpy Coulter trying to make the word LIBERAL into something bad.

Are we any better? Hell no. Am I using the word to inflict pain? Doubtful. They’re never going to read this, and already think I’m sub-human for being a “librul” who supports Obama. They have already placed me in a category incapable of having any meaning. No, It’s mostly to convey my own personal rage at their incomprehensible stupidity, action against their own best interests, and hatred toward their fellow countrymen. I’d see them educated before I see them hurt. They’d see me extinct. There’s a huge difference.

But I can still wear C-TESS and LIBERAL as a badge of honor if I so choose.

/soapbox it’s bedtime, and I hope I haven’t pissed any of you, my wonderful TOD family, off by this fit of word-spew. 😀

funny example of the use of the new and improved “n” word:
**if anyone is watching Game of Thrones check this out: EPISODE 9 SPOILER – NO KIDDING – DO NOT CLICK IF YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED IT – YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED: (If you haven’t been watching Game of Thrones, then this will most likely be completely meaningless, more confusing than humorous, and might just give you wind burn…… )
