I was just reading a report on today’s Netroots gathering and I’m now wiping coffee spray from my monitor. Seriously, it was that funny.
The panel for one of today’s discussions featured – ready for this? – three ‘Nutroots’: Dan Choi, John Aravosis and Jane Hamsher. The ‘Look At Me’ brigade!
So much hate, fakery and narcissism at one table!
Choi, bless him, is still recovering from the crushing disappointment of President Obama fulfilling his promise to end DADT, a development that robbed him of his media star status – no one really wants to hear his rants any more, his 15 minutes of fame are up.
When an Organizing for America volunteer stood up and asked him to support the President in 2012, Choi ripped up an OFA flyer he had been given and threw it in the man’s face.
Classy!
It renewed his hero status with the Nutroots people who pollute Netroots, though, so that was nice.
America Blog’s Aravosis? You know, the guy who’s equally devastated by the President’s record of achievement on gay rights – because his ‘Obama is a Homophobe!’ rants have just become embarrassing.
Firebaggerlake’s Hamsher? What can you say about this creature? It’s five years since she let her mask slip when she posted that photoshopped picture of Joe Lieberman as a ‘black’ man on Huffington Post, in a sneering attempt to describe his efforts to “woo African American voters”. The photo was promptly removed, and she offered a ‘sorry if you were offended’ apology. And still the professional left regard her as a progressive!
Also on the panel was immigration reform supporter Felipe Matos who attacked the President for not passing the DREAM Act. Err? Could someone let this guy know how American democracy works? Hint: the President wants the DREAM Act passed, the Senate rejected it.
“One way to ensure Democrats do not take progressive votes for granted is to stop voting for Democrats,” said Choi.
How about President Bachmann, Dan? (“We need to have profound compassion for people who are dealing with the very real issue of sexual dysfunction in their life and sexual identity disorders.”) Or any of the Republican candidates?
Good luck with that.
Hey, thanks for the laughs, Nutroots!
The headline on Arianna Huffy’s site tonight …. no wonder she admires Dan so much, they’re both self-promoting right-wing fakes, posing as ‘progressives’. See you in 2012 😉
Choi and Rachel are buds! Need I say more?
It would not bother me if MSNBC were to get rid of Rachel Maddow. It seem she want to blame everyone but Wiener for what went on.
This is who we should be writing emails and condeming. they are a joke.
They have a big headline on huff and puff with Dan Choi’s picture attached claimed progressives are leaving Obama . Ok this is my response to Choi and company. 👿 👿 👿
And in a few days we’ll see a poll showing that Obama has an 88% approval rating amongst Liberals.
Here is the thing: Hoping and wishing for something to happen does not make it so. That’s the mode the PL has been in for the last two years and none of their little charades have come to pass.
Notice it is always the Republicans turn Progressives that encourage Democrats not to vote? Something in the DNA. Here we have all those GOP governors trying to change the rules for people to vote.
Go figure.
He’s a Republican.
It really pisses me off how much slack these True Progressive Heroes get. No one outside of their clique could get away with that crap.
Cho is a publicty seeker.
Tulips you are so correct. He needs to go oand sit his ugly attitude down also. There are servicemet and women who really do need our attention and our publicity on the real issurs of how to get them home safely and then be able to help them move back into society with grace and respect. Let s put our energy and passion on the things that we will really make a difference and will be apprecicatied. This person has been given enough attention already.
I suspect that less than 1 % of the American population even knows who these clowns are. And, at least 50 % of those who are aware of them think they are just as nuts as the teabaggers.
That’s fortunate for the Nation.
Yes.We.Can. … DO.More.Together!
Absolutely right, Bobfr. Most people don’t know who they are or care. The term I have seen is Leftbaggers and that fits them to a tea.
We have more important things to do! I’m with you. Yes.We.Can!!
😉
Bobfr, you are so correct. Now I do not know who these people are on my own, only from what I see and read about on the blogs. But all I know, as a 58 year old black woman, who pulls know punches and is a pretty good judge of character…..this sundried group of misfits are just plain JEALOUS of this self-proclaimed African American former editor of the Harvard Law Review, who hopped, skipped and jumped over many heads to become the FIRST MINORITY President of the U.S.A. Look at it- you’ve got gays, white males, women, lesbians……any of who thought they much more deserved to hold such power before some stinking, reviled black person, aka a NIGGER. This is what is smells like to me and I can guarantee you, this is exactly ALL that it is.
er….”it smells like”….not “is smells like” .
I think you’re right, Ed. Sadly.
Hey, Theo, I’ve seen it all my life, in various scenarious, on many levels. When someone cannot explain to you why they are uncomfortable about what you do, no matter how benevolent, it is pure resentment, and in this case, jealousy. Bet on it!
Oop, there I am again….LOL
“scenarios, not scenarious”
That’s it, Bobfr, these people are indeed “nuts!” There is really no other way to describe them. Except may be to point out that some of them, especially the so called leaders, have figured out that bashing President Obama is a money making venture.
LOL, Hysterical. They don’t even know why they are mad anymore. Go figure.
Lord, all they need is Joan Rivers screeching “WHOAREYOUWEARING?!!!” And the freak show will be complete.
Dan Choi is a right-wing Libertarian who disguises himhself as a “progressive” because he happens to be gay. Just a few months ago, he was busy cheering on Donald Trump at the CPAC event, during which he palled around with his Republican pals.
Progressives are confused and there are several different factions!
You are correct Hopefruit!!! This is a faux progressive movement that has nothing to do with real progressive or Democratic values!!! These are media whores who are just seeking notoriety and money!!!
Dan Choi is a LOSER!!!
As the young people say, “true dat”. I didn’t know much about these people…I don’t like a lot of screaming aind yelling…just a lot of noise and no action on their part…they are fakes, 😈 and 👿
OBAMA AGAIN (I saw this on a bumper sticker today/I like it!)
As the young people say, “true dat”. I was not familiar with these people, but all of there ranting, jumping up and down, screaming and yelling, I now think they are 😈 and 👿
OBAMA AGAIN (I saw this bumper sticker today/I like it).
Thanks for that hopefruit2. I was trying to remember the actual event.
Ain’t it funny how he comes to a progressive event and tells democrats to stop voting for democrats, disrespects some OFA rep and the crowd goes wild.
And all this time I thought the tea partiers were the most gullible.
Guess what, Rachel sticking up for wiener again! Ugh!
Jovie, am watching Rachel now and I feel disgusted by her continued foolishness. Now Cenk is on too making all comparisons.
Good grief, she has Cenk on??? Cenk, the hardcore Reagan-loving right winger who decided that reinventing himself as a ‘progressive’ would be more profitable, media-wise? 🙄
Was he wrong? Progressives bought it hook line and tackle box.
Advice: Stop watching Rachel Maddcow and turn to something more edifying and educational. i.e.: I’m currently watching Two and a Half Men. 😉
ps- I’ve never felt as stimulated and intelligent as I feel right now, who knew Charlie could do that? Wiiiininnnnnggggg!!!!! 😆
LOL, Lisa!!!
😆 watching the BIG BANG THEORY I have tuned out Rachel.
Reading this blog – ignoring Rachel.
I thought Bob Herbert (who has never been shy about criticizing President Obama) had set her straight a few days ago. She was obsessing about GOP hypocrisy and Anthony Weiner. But that was before Anthony Weiner resigned..
Bob Herbert made the following comments:
1) “Why are Democrats turning on Anthony Weiner like this?” she asked.
Herbert essentially said that two wrongs don’t make a right. “We should want higher standards in government,” he said. “I do believe that Weiner’s behavior has been egregious. In the first place, it’s profoundly disrespectful to women. And if the photos that he sent, if they were uncensored, he’d be gone now. I mean, he sent some hideous stuff.”
2) Herbert said it was simply about maintaining certain standards in a political party.
“As a person who is really foursquare for progressive values, i would very much like to see democrats have a higher standard of behavior than the Republicans.”
Bob Herbert interview:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/06/14/rachel-maddow-and-bob-her_n_876930.html
Indeed the more I hear from these so-called “progressives”, the more I think they just want the Democratic party to be the same and play by the same rules as the Republican party. They want a bully for President (but then they sue him when he does something without consulting them – even if it’s well within his powers as Commander-in-Chief and Head of State, and within the proclaimed values of the United States), and they want him to be tough with war, but don’t want the war that ensues. They want him to roll over Congress with Executive Orders, but they complain and say he’s breaking promises when he does. They want someone to break the Republican Party into tiny little pieces, and throw those pieces into the dumpster, never to be seen again. But they would be screeching about him breaking his promise of bi-partisanship and bringing the parties together, if he had not reached out the hand of compromise.
That’s why I’m glad that President Obama doesn’t pay attention to these losers. They act like children, and they don’t understand what they want and the consequences of certain actions. They are pathetic.
Theo, 8 years of Bushisms has spoiled this country on bad behavior ala wild wild west. I have a nephew who indicated during the health care fight, that PBO should do it by being more like Bush, even though he supported PBO. I was done with him after this because he really disappointed me with his unintelligence, which surprised me. America is no longer used to protocol and class. Just look at what passes for popular culture these days. Rudeness, violence, snide remarks, hyped up punditry. We live in a sick society, and it is only by the presence of some sane folks such as who we have here, that the country hasn’t fallen off the face of the earth, metaphorically.
And its Democrats that are accused of keeping this in the news?
I really not like Dan Choi , I loathe him. He is a disgusting moron.
i will net root and telling them we broke up with them.
i will email them sorry.
I caught five minutes of Thom Hartmann’s show this morning (he was broadcasting from the peanut gallery – aka Nutroots), and he was interviewing a woman, who I think said her name was Lizz Winstead. Anyway, she was talking about how people don’t have patience anymore and they can’t see the value in following a process to get things done. She said that we live in such an immediate culture that people don’t even cook from scratch anymore. Where before a pie was something that took making the pie crust, filling, baking, etc., now people just thrown something in the microwave and presto, it’s done. The loss of valuing the process means that people get frustrated easily when things don’t get done in a second.
I think this was probably the only worthwhile conversation out of the whole Nutroots conference.
Haha….I live by her credo. We do live in a microwave culture…..instant gratification has been the style since atleast the 1980’s. It’s why we have road rage, trigger fingers, divorces, undernourished fat kids and their parents, contaminated food, water, and air. Bloated appetites make us less tasteful.
I think Liz Winstead is spot-on. We do indeed live in a microwave culture. People expected President Obama to solve all the Problems the month after he took the oath of Office. Even before he completed his first year in office he was already deemed a failure because he had not solved all the problems that other President had failed to solve for generations. I wonder if people realize how long it took to accomplish such things as abolishing slavery, outlawing legal racial segregation, and securing the right to vote for Blacks and women.
From what I’ve been reading from the “purity progressives,” all these things were accomplished as a result of strong Presidents who used the “bully pulpit.” It seems to me that the “purity progressives” long for a progressive President who acts as a dictator, in complete disregard of the Constitutional framework that divided governmental powers among three branches to ensure checks and balances. By the way, any one with any rudimentary knowledge of American history knows fully well that all the 43 presidents before President Obama, experienced their share of frustrations, and defeats, by this system of divided government. Even the great FDR, in his first term, had many of his New Deal programs invalidated by the conservative Supreme Court. Moreover some of FDR’s signature legislations, like the 1935 Social Security Act, were not perfect because he had to compromise with conservative Southern Democrats (Dixiecrats), who did not want to pay SS for African American share croppers and domestic workers. I bet the majority of the “purity progressives” do not know that it took 35 to 45 years before agricultural and Domestic workers were finally included in Social Security coverage, respectively.
You.Crack.Me.Up!!!! I can’t stop laughing at the PL jokers!!
These guys are nothing but teabaggers. With the slate of candidates on the other side, you are really proposing that people DON’T VOTE for President Obama to punish him? Huh? I try to get this with them, but I don’t at all get it. Say, God forbid, that the President was defeated. He gathers his family up on that cold January day and retires back home to Chicago, with a pension, free mail service, and secret service protection round the clock. He and his wife will become foreign diplomats that the new Republican would dream of becoming, garnering large crowds and the jubilation of the people around him. I bet he would start up a foundation of sorts, dedicated to world peace, becoming popular as an elder statesman. He and Michelle would write about the White House years and those books would become best sellers, earning them millions, all the while being free of fixing an economy, stopping a war, brokering a treaty, etc. WHERE IN THE HELL IS THE DAMN PUNISHMENT!? I mean, come on, I saw Jimmy Carter’s life after the presidency, and if his life is the way a mediocre president lives, I’ll be an ex-president. Don’t listen to these jackasses.
Apart from the “elder statesman” comment – Bravo! President Obama’s put his life ON HOLD to deal with the mess of this country. He’d be so much better off, and save himself some grey hairs and lost years. And he’d get back to making millions! If it didn’t mean world disaster, I’d be all for the President telling these losers where they can stick it, and exiting gracefully from stage left.
Great points, and oh so true. Sometimes I actually want this for PBO, however, I don’t want him to get it all by defeat. No, only if he so chose. I and I’m sure all of us would be 100% in his corner. Although, we would all need therapy for extreme POTUS withdrawal 😀
I can’t imagine PBO would withdraw for good. We’d still be able to follow him, by his books and eventually, his next awesome role. If these people keep thwarting progress, I think the President may just ask whether he could achieve more outside the Presidency. But on ht eother hand, I don’t think the President would ever let the bullies win – it would just send such a bad example to children. So… he’s not going to give up.
Great post Gov. Reminds me of when they call the President a corporatist sell out. Never mind the fact he never worked one day in corporate America and was a self made millionaire. Nope if the PL says he’s a plutocrat by gosh that’s his title from now on.
Idiots.
Fu*k ’em. Fu*k ’em, fu*k ’em, fu*k ’em, fu*k ’em. I just spent the last hour reading the comments section attached to the article about the ‘Nutroots’ shindig. There was quite a bit of verbal volleying going on there between the Shithead Parasite Losers and the Obamabots. From what I saw, it was a good fight, but I didn’t stay to watch the end. But one exchange really got me. One Obamabot basically said: “stop whining, that’s all you PL do. You all are responsible for PBO’s shellacking in 2010. If you decide to “show” the prez again come 2012, then good luck with your Republican president.” Nastystinkingbastard responds:” so what, it wont be different from having PBO.” What a complete and utter Fu*ker! This shit is actually what the Parasite Losers really think!! They seriously think PBO is a republican! One Obamabot said to another Nastystinkingbastard something I sometimes fantasize about for Rachel Maddcow: ” I almost wish are Republican president on you. I’d love to see you squirm for 4 years…” These dirty shitheads are really, really getting on my fu*king nerves. I wish there was a way to make them disappear. They serve no purpose and they are a complete waste of space. Dan Fu*kface Choi can go fu*k himself- which is probably nothing new to him. Dumbass. He’s such a selfish, self involved fu*k face. He should have gone back into the military, but no, he decided to be a teevee star. I appreciate what he did prior to being kicked out of the service, but I strongly believe that most of what he’s done since being kicked out, has just been shameful. Fu*ker. I really, really hate those shitheads. 😡 😡 😡 😡
ps- Let Rusty hear your voice tomorrow, call and send him a love message about ALL the wonderful jobs he’s provided in the past 5 months 202-225-6205, please call as many times as you desire, especially if you get that nasty little pipsqueak who likes to give lots of lip and nasty attitude. Frigging Republicans 😡
Beautiful rant, Lisa. I share every exclamation filled word! 😡
Sometimes I wish they could get a Republican President, too. They’ve literally squandered this opportunity by not supporting President Obama. It’s going to be very hard to find someone with integrity and goodness to run for government in the future. Why would someone do that?
“Why would someone do that?”
——-unfortunately, there is no simple rationalization for severe psychopathology, medication is therefore recommended 😐
ps- or lets comfort ourselves with the knowledge that they will eventually get theirs 😕
I can replace that REPUBLICAN Dan CHOI’S “vote” in a heartbeat 🙂 I’m so glad these people are not liberals, that would bother me. The fact that most of them are merely repubs pretending to be dems calling themselves ‘progressives’ is all I’ve ever needed to know about them, their committment to ANYTHING or Anyone.. they blow with the wind and frankly most of them just blow- cowards all.
Write it loud and bold Chipsticks: THEY ARE REPUBLICANS
It just occurred to me that the way we know that Dan Choi is a Republican is that HE KEEPS MOVING THE GOALPOST. The hard work of getting DADT done just wasn’t good enough. Now the criticism if about gay marriage. These folks need some grievance to complain about to stay relevant. It’s really twisted and sick.
I just came across a great post by Booman. He explains why he is skipping the netroots conference.
THE PROFESSIONALLY DISGRUNTLED…….
http://www.boomantribune.com/story/2011/6/16/20368/8759
I can bet you that this Dan Choi fellow did not vote for President Obama…
So absolutely nothing lost…
I was reading some more of this over at Think Progress and one of the commenters there suggested that it was staged. Read the transcript and you’ll see his point. Doesn’t make any sense. A bisexual OFA member who doesn’t support marriage equality goes to Netroots Nation and tries to give Dan Choi an OFA flyer?
It was a definite stunt. Probably Hamsher set it up. I mean as you say – why would somebody declare themselves an OFA member and then say I’m against same-sex marriage at a event basically titled “We hate Obama and hope you do to”.
That last line cracked me up.
It did sound so contrived and weak and so staged…
I doubt anybody bought that crap…
Pathetic indeed…
thom Hartman ego is so big no one is right but him. I don’t even tune in anymore.
Just tell em to SHUT UP!!!!
Thank you GovChris1966. There is another song that I love by her call “Thank You.” Our beautiful FLOTUS listens to that one on her iPod everyday, she stated in an article. But I do not know how to post the song. The words are appropriate for us as a familly here. Remember what Chipsticks told us last evening.
I do apologize GovChris 1988 and not 66.
And to have a headline with the words: Progressives ‘break-up’ with Obama. LOL, how effing small and meaningless they really are. When they view the President of the United States as their ‘date’, ‘lover’- they are so lost, so self-involved, so weak and tiny in this universe, I nearly pity them, nearly. who I truly pity are the folks who could use real community leaders and not a bunch of fickle media-sucking glory hounds seeking attention for every sound-bite they can manufacture. The real NETROOTS is out getting people elected who will help this country, working diligently and persistently to better communities in need… oh yeah one President Barack Obama comes to mind- that guy working with Russia to end lose nukes… that guy ending DADT.. that guy working to pass the Lily Ledbetter Act.. yeah now there is a real community organizer. Dan Choi- what have you done for me Lately?? Jane Hamsher, what have you done for me EVER? Rachel Maddow what do you do for me period?? NOT A FREAKING THING. You all talk and whine and make a lotta $$$$$ doing it.
That is one thing that turns so many including myself off to Rachel. She will not let it go. The man made his statement regardless of the slime yelling out his ugly contents of his heart. Where is the gorgiveness, the calm sitting down and allowing Mr. Weiner talk this over with his wife now and make the best decesion for them as a couple. Leave the man alone. There is a wife carrying a precious life in her body. She has a stressful job already, and I would not want to be the one to continue to carryy on about this today such as Rachel, Mr. Perfect Chuck Todd, and so many others. Are we better than this. Except for the grace of God, this could be them or anyone one of us. Rachel need to sit and think about when enough is enough, and stope blaming the Democraties. Shut eh neck up and focus on some news that will help people of all cultures come together, husbands and wives to lean more into ther marriages and relationships and meet the needs both physically, and psycholocally. She needs to let Mrs. Weiner get a break and rest and relax and focus on that life inside of her. Beating up on her husband is painful, stressful for a woman who is tryoing to work in a stressful position for all of us State Department and give good energy to her unborn child within her marriage. Use common sense, Rachel. Shut the heck up. Let it go.
I am sorry for all of the mistakes. I can spell, but I can’t see anything while I am typing. I am writing to Rachel as well. I hope others will write her and tell her to move on. I am sorry for the rant, but I know how this stress can have an effect on a wife when you are trying to make it through life while working a stressful job and trying to think about the child that you are trying to carry for your husband and yourself. It is difficult.
There’s some sort of compatibility thing that needs to be turned on or off on under your tools menu or something like that. Someone else on this blog had this problem and they said how to fix it but I wasn’t really paying attention. Maybe you can e-mail Ms. Chips and ask her. Sorry.
Don’t you get it HZ, it’s not about Mr. and Mrs. Weiner, it’s about them. They are selfish blood suckers. This is why they can’t deal with Obama, he said yes we can…they took out the we and replaced it wtih you.
Now, while the children play at Nutroots, we adults need to continue taking care of business. Take a personal vow to refuse to allow them to send you into a depressive state!! Let’s make our goals the re-election of PBO, and enjoying the dismay on their faces in November 2012 after the news networks call the race for our dear, hardworking president.
Well sid Majii!!
said* II can’t see what I type!!
Im on board Majii and agree. I refuse to make them relevant
BREAKING FREAKIN NEWS. According to the Hill, Dennis Kucinich today “ripped” Obama on National TV for his handling of the War in Libya AND FREAKIN PRAISED George W. Bush for asking the congress to go to war in IRAQ. Now this guy needs to have his head examined because he is loosing it.
Do you have a link to that article by any chance Me4obama?
http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/166789-criticizing-obama-kucinich-credits-bush-for-asking-congress-to-go-war
http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/166789-criticizing-obama-kucinich-credits-bush-for-asking-congress-to-go-war
the guy’s a useless nitwit. Wait till he’s up for re-election, he’ll be on PBO’s coat tails like nobody’s business. I can’t wait for redistricting so he’ll lose his seat. The guy’s a useless democrat we definitely don’t need. ON TPM comments section some were championing him challenging PBO in a primary. WTF??? Are they stupid? Ku-coo is a complete and utter idiot who is self-serving and ridiculous. Much like Weiner, he’ll soon get his. Karma is a *itch 😐
ps- Call Rusty tomorrow and thank him for working so hard for ALL the wonderful new jobs he and his thugs have created in the past 5 months: 202-225-6205.
Yeah, W only lied, made up evidence, spent months on a propaganda campaign and sank the country into trillions of dollars of debt but at least he asked congress.
Kucinich is a sick bastard.
Did Obama hurt his little feelings!
These people have become legends in their own minds.
I think this choi nut should never be allowed in the same room as the president, becuase I’m beginning to think he’s unstable.
It’s almost as if he has this obsession with the president…….I mean what did they do and say when Brush was in power.
i agree bjw2 he looks unstable.
Because they are foolish men who have other interests, and their interest is not for the people who are in need at this time. We need to pray for them to leave and others to rise up with a heart to really serve the people.
Just mentioned Choi and Hamsher to my husband who is well informed , and a member of teh BASE , his reply “….never heard of ’em” 🙂
http://thinkprogress.org/lgbt/2011/06/16/247301/dan-choi-rips-up-obama-flyer-i-wont-vote-for-obama-if-he-doesnt-endorse-marriage-equality/
The video that shows Dan choi’s. Ignorance.
There aren’t enough nasty words or names I can come up with for this ass. 🙄 🙄 🙄
Yeah, vote for any of the seven Republican candidates – all would would keep DADT and work to reinstate it and five of the seven who would support a constitutional amentment banning gay marriage (the other two Cain and Paul said it was a State issue).
I’m fairly certain, from what I’ve seen of Dan Choi is that he is mentally ill.
So now that DADT has been repealed now Choi has decided that the only way he will support POTUS is if he endorse marriage equality. Hahahaha. Whatever. What state does this asshole live? Because I say for whatever state he’s a registered voter someone should register 10 new voters and say in honor of former Lieutenant Dan Choi.
Seriously. When is his 15 minutes up?
As to Rachel defending Weiner…she really needs to take a chill pill. In the last two days I’ve talked to five, educated informed people and guess what? They all felt Weiner shoudl resign. They all felt he was a jerk and creepy. They are all Dems who don’t follow the cable news shows and had never heard the term “professional left”. So for all the screeching Rachel is doing on this subject and for all the glaring headlines Huffpost puts up. The average person is forming their own opinion and they are not concerned about the cable chatter. If they are not careful they are going to make themselves irrelevant pretty soon.
Choi will never be happy. I read somev where that the LBGT community is supporting PBO because they realize that he is the only one on their side and they plan to work to get him re-elected. I wonder if Van Jones (very sensible and likeable) will be at the “Nutroot” convention this year?
Who the heck do these people think they are to be speaking as though they represent all liberals and progressives? I’ve never even heard of half of them.
I skipped that panel, because I could see how it might go, and found some other interesting stuff to attend. These people are almost all going to support Obama for re-election next year, though some of them will be nasty and whiny about it. But every time I tell someone I have a pro-Obama blog, they tend to ask whether I am still as strong a supporter as I used to be. Yes I am!
Anyway, what I really want to say is that you might want to be careful about insulting the whole community just based on people like Jane Hamsher or Dan Choi or Glenn Greenwald. We need the Netroots community to win next year! And they’re not all nuts. That’s why Obama is sending Dan Pfeiffer to talk to Netroots tomorrow. That should be interesting.
Love you Joe but honestly, tiptoeing about some of these people who’ve been absolutely horrid and never actually supported or voted for President Obama to begin with, not doable for me…
They lose if President Obama is not re-elected…
Indeed – aren’t there only 2200 of them in attendance, and how many of them voted? I ask that since Dan Choi is telling people not to vote this time around, to make them more “relevant”. When they start being serious, then I’ll take them more seriously. Otherwise, they are a bunch of noisemakers. Good for you, Joe, for trying to get something out of it, but really, I have neither the capacity nor the inclination.
Hi Joe, point taken, I know what you mean. What I’m referring to, really, are the people Netroots choose to represent them – that panel yesterday was comically anti-President Obama, there was no effort to strike a balance. For so long as they give platforms to the likes of Hamsher I just have no respect for them – at all!
