night everyone

President Obama hosts military fathers and children for a screening of Cars 2 in advance of Father’s Day in the South Court Auditorium June 15. The event is part of the President’s Fatherhood and Mentoring Initiative.

I completely failed in my promise to reply to emails and check out all the comments today, or to try again to find out why lots of you are having trouble with the new WordPress comment box. Another promise: I’ll try to get it done tomorrow 😕

From the comments I got a chance to read today, I saw that a lot of you were down about the renewed attacks on the President from the professional left.

Just a couple of things:

The vast majority of the professional left didn’t campaign or vote for Barack Obama in 2008 – this is the simple truth, as any of you who visited the better known liberal (ha!) sites would have seen in 2007/08. These people’s hatred for BHO was a sight to behold – even before he took office. I witnessed it myself time and time again – that’s why I started this blog, to get away from these ****ed up hate-mongers.

But he got elected without them, and he will get elected without them again in 2012.

Check all the recent polls – his support from genuine progressives usually tops 80 per cent. The professional left are in a tiny minority, they just make a lot of noise. They are irrelevant, just a bunch of self-promoting, bitter keyboard warriors with seriously troubled agendas.

Always remember, so many of the professional left divas – like Arianna Huffington and Cenk Uygur – were hardcore right-wingers until not too long ago. Miraculous conversions that had absolutely nothing to do with the fact that they found it easier to forge media careers as ‘progressives’. And then there’s the PL’s beloved Glenn Greenwald, his hatred of the President leaving the chap foaming at the mouth as he pounds his keyboard and spews his daily bile. This, incidentally, the guy who’s still pushing the candidacy of Republican/Libertarian Gary Johnson – the racist scumbag who wants to end child labor laws. How progressive of you, Glenn 🙄

These people aren’t progressives, they’re attention-seeking opportunists who haven’t a genuine liberal bone in their bodies. Uygur, the self-appointed voice of the Professional Left, and self-confessed Ronald Reagan devotee, is the guy who sneered at the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, describing equal pay for women as a “minor” achievement by the President (see here).

See?

These people are just not worth your energy or worry – they are nothing, they represent no one but themselves, a tiny hate-filled clique whose biggest fear is progress. **** them, preserve your energy and passion for getting President Obama re-elected 😉

****

2008 ….. “Them”

Do you think she voted for President Obama in 2008? Me neither. And she probably won’t vote for him either in 2012.

Net loss? Zero.

😉

Thanks so much Chipsticks for all these wonderful posts today and for your well-thought out comments on the PL and their relative insignificance in the grand scheme of things.

Before I say good night, just a quick heads up: This Friday June 17, President Obama will be on ABC’s “Good Morning America” in a one- on- one interview with Robin Roberts in honor of Father’s Day. Have a wonderful and restful evening and I’m looking forward to being back here tomorrow with our TOD community!

Thanks for letting me know that, I will write it down so I don’t forget it. Even though I hardly watch these shows any longer I will if POTUS or FLOTUS is going to be up there.

Let’s hope Robin is more respectful of the President than she was asking Mrs Obama those ridiculously stupid & inane questions about not being invited to the royal wedding…

Robin has been quite a disappointment: shallow in her obvious desperation to keep her job…

Well said Chips, I will listen to you anytime, anyday because you know exactly the end goal and that is to get PBO reelected, not focus and get down on the day to day “news” cycle. When I feel down I go and watch the President’s press conference he did before the Lame duck session when he cut the Tax deal with the Rethugs. Give yourself 7minutes and watch the last question and answer he gave to the wall street journal about his core values and principles. It is heaven on a earth and it will remain on my DVR until it deletes itself. Good night Family.

I moved to a new home and DVR service provider, so I lost my little go-to stash of favorite Obama videos, including my seven hour inauguration coverage and that documentary about President Obama. This one that you mentioned is another one of those moments to keep – as you say – “until it deletes itself”. Thanks for the reminder! I’m heading to YouTube to check it out.

Speaking of——Jon Stewart is continuing his anti-Obama campaign, mocking Obama in Puerto Rico, making fun of everything. Stewart has become a real a__h___. Wonder who Jon Stewart wants to be President. Wonder why he’s spending all this air time trying to damage Obama with his viewers. Even tho these anti-Obama leftists are a minority, it’s a big shame they have such big megaphones. It’s infuriating.

      June 15, 2011 at 11:15 pm

Why do you watch that stuff?

    • June 15, 2011 at 11:31 pm

Dotser, Stewart’s bitterness has reached roof-levels since the President suggested Weiner, Stewart’s good pal, wasn’t exactly a shining light. He’s a funny, smart guy, but he reminds me of the desperately-want-to-be-cool kid in school, his cynicism and detachment from real life make him pitiful. This is the guy who tried to equate MSNBC with Fox ….. at that point he lost me.

      • June 16, 2011 at 4:59 am

I don’t watch Stewart, never have. And never will since he had the nerve to try to tell me why I voted for Barack Obama. He doesn’t know a darn thing about me, and he ought to stick to why he does the things he does.

Actually something really wonderful happened late tonight…

Some friends of ours who have consistently defended and laughed off Jon Stewart’s anti-President Obama spiel as ‘harmless’ and in ‘good fun’ called tonight seething…

        They finally got it…

Jon Stewart is a spiteful, f*%@ing asshole they both yelled into the speaker phone at the same time…

And they finally figured this out all by themselves …

We have to trust that in time people like Jon Stewart and the lot will be exposed for what they are…

        It’s only a matter of time…

I could hear that garbage coming from another room so I closed the door and locked myself in here with my computer and you good people. I used to like Jon Stewart. What could possibly have turned him so rabid? I don’t get it. I know you have all tried to explain it but something still does not add up. It’s downright weird. He must know he’s helping the Republicans with this crap. I sometimes think that some people are always against whoever is in charge no matter who that person is. He deserves to go live on an island governed by Mike Huckabee since he likes him so much.

As for the silly girl in the video..well all I can say is that if Hillary had won the primary I would have cried for a while since she wasn’t my first choice, but then I would have dried my tears and voted for her because a second choice Democrat is better than a McCain/Palin combo any day of the week. I look at the Republicans and there’s really no way you could leave them in charge of a garage sale let alone a country.

About Cenk, yesterday I watched his show…I have NO idea why cause I can’t stand him! But he had this panel with a lefty, centrist and rightie. The nice centrist lady was trying to tell him that sometimes you do have to work with repubs-she noted that LBJ worked with Dirkson on civil rights. (She even said she was a progressive O_o!) Cenk practically shouted her down saying that struggle was in the past. Y’all I wanted to jump through my tv and slap him silly! He seemed so dismissive…odd because everybody is always saying PBO needs to be just like LBJ 🙄

  21. June 16, 2011 at 12:10 am

    Weird. Double post above

Just saw on twitter Breaking News from Al Jazeera:

A series of loud blasts rocked central Tripoli early on Thursday morning and smoke could be seen rising above the fortified compound of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi.

Gaddafi’s sprawling compound has been the target of repeated NATO air strikes.

President Obama not only did what was obligated by our treaty relationship with NATO and our obligations to the UN, he did what was right regarding the hundreds of thousands of Libyans whom are alive tonight because of his actions.

President Obama has violated no statute.

And, as I note below, keep your attention on 17 June 2011 in Libya – you have zero information from the lame-stream media as to what has been actually occurring int the past weeks in Libya. But, I assure you what is happening on the ground in Libya will soon be one of the most amazing stories of individuals fighting for their inalienable rights that has ever been told in the history of our species.

Excellent closing thoughts, Chips. Truly a woman after my own heart..

I refuse to get exercised about teabaggers and firebaggers. It became very obvious to me about 2 years ago (when I was new to Daily Kos) that the PL firebaggers were simply looking to cash in on being Obama bashers. These people are nothing more than professional whiners and flame throwers. They don’t accomplish anything, they don’t have any ideas, and you don’t want them on your team anyway.

I’m confident Barack Obama will be re-elected in 2012, much to the consternation of these inconsequential attention whores.

    Have a great night everyone 😛 !

    Dear Chips,

These are very wise observations of yours and I recommend you ‘stick’ them to the top of TOD from now until President Obama’s Election Day victory in Nov 2012:

“These people are just not worth your energy or worry – they are nothing, they represent no one but themselves, a tiny hate-filled clique whose biggest fear is progress. **** them, preserve your energy and passion for getting President Obama re-elected”

And, everyone, Friday is 17 June 2011 – Expect that to be a very special day in Libya. I assure you, from all that I have access, what you read in the lame-stream media is completely empty regarding what the freedom fighters in Libya are achieving – thanks, in enormous party, because of what our brave President Obama did. And, btw, he knows more about Constitutional Law and the War Powers Act than any of those clowns in Congress and has not only violated nothing, he has adhered to our treaty and other commitments to the UN and NATO, meticulously. Most importantly, he has SAVED THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE’S LIVES IN LIBYA.

Yep, the old divide and conquer strategy. Lefties who are claiming to be “the” base, showing disappointment with POTUS, to sway the masses. They are the new Klan in my opinion, be they black, white, yellow or glowing in the dark. It will take all our efforts to inform the real base who these miscreants are. Better yet, we have to have a noticeable voice in the media, some way, some how, to call them out.
