morning

So, what were you lovely people up to when I went off to sleep last night? Helping The Obama Diary reach its fundraising target at the Organizing for America site – whooooo hoooooo! Cannot thank you enough, I’m just chuffed that you chose to help this blog do its little bit for Obama/Biden 2012. Thank you again, you’re great 😉

(PS I’ve raised the target to $3,000 – I can’t keep up with you!)

The White House has uploaded the President’s speech in Puerto Rico yesterday:

I’ve fallen way behind again answering emails, huge apologies to everyone. I’ll definitely catch up later today – thank you all for your links and comments, always appreciated.

I see there must have been infiltrators at the AP who allowed a positive economic story to get through the conservative guards there, re. lower gas prices, lower food prices and more hiring expected:

Good morning chip. I get paid from the military once a month, so at the beginning of next month- you will get a donation from me…

That said, at the end of this month, the fundraising totals are released. I hope the president did really well. That would shut the msm up!

I’ve been wondering what the fundraising totals have been so far. Please be sure to let us know when you spot it at the end of the month Jovie! I hope it is a really BIG number. I signed up for a monthly contribution and that is the first time i have ever done that for a candidate. I hope many others have done the same.

Morning Jovie, thank you so much! I don’t want to be hassling anyone about donating, times are tough enough for everyone, so please only ever donate when it suits you!

I was really heartened to see these results in the Q-POLL especially since all the white Pundits on TVEE love to push the meme that Obama has “problems” with white working class Americans.

That may be true. But Union workers are not on the side of Republicans. Wisconsin is giving the Prez a great opening against the GOP on working class Americans.

I do not understand why this President’s numbers are not better. If you look at the Republicans bulldoze over democracy, people should be outraged. Even in Wisconsin and Florida, those Governors still have double digit approval. Just voting against unemployment, bargaining rights, oil company subsidies, etc. should be an indicator of things to come. It boggles my mind that there are any positive polls out there for any Republican.

Jackie, its because of the colour of his skin. Most of those rethuglican haters would rather lose everything than support/vote for a person of colour. They will continue to vote against their own interests than support this Potus. Pure racism plain and clear. What idiots.

And they refuse to believe that the consequences are real and long lasting. Look what happened in Wisconsin. The effects of what the Governor is doing there will doom a generation, at least. These things aren’t easy to turn around and you do lose ground when the rest of the world is in a race to the top, and we’re barely holding on by our fingernails.

That color thing is a big joke. I went on the grand search for my families roots and ended up in North Carolina, Germany, Wales and England. I am still searching on my Mom side, so if you judge people by their color you might find a mix in the gene pool unless you just arrived. DNA is a wake up call to all the racial purity group.

I like donating to your fundraiser. I had one of my own and raised $9,500 for the campaign in 2008. I just don’t have time to encourage the donations this year, so THANK YOU! When the time gets closer, I will have a couple house parties to raise money, knock on doors in several states, and have more post card writing parties. These are the things I did in 2007-08. I also did the phone calling, but I don’t like doing that because I don’t even like getting the phone calls myself. 😉 I am lucky that President Obama gave several speeches in the MD/DC/VA area and I attended every one of them. I think it’s going to take double the efforts this time.
