Love my President, but why does he insist on running down those Air Force One stairs, without holding on:)

I have to admit, I close my eyes when he does it – but that’s probably just me being too nervy!

That doesn’t make me nervous. He’s athletic and in such good shape. What makes me nervous is watching him shake hands in a crowd. Even though all those joyful faces and hands reaching toward him are fun to see, I’m always yelling at my TV screen and waving my arms, saying “Go, go, leave!” and am always so relieved when he waves his final good-bye.

I know – I’m constantly looking at the Secret Service to make sure they’re looking out, and holding on to him when he leans into the crowd. They always are.

The harddddddddddest working man in the pol biz. Wow. I pray daily for his health. My God how does he do it, it is dizzying.

Have you all seen this article about Heck a va job Brownie of Katrina? He skewers Bush, Condi Rice, Karl Rove, et al. Now he tells us what we all knew all along. Interestingly he talks about Bush’s frat boy mentality and how he wanted people to like him.

    Go figure.

I just participated in the OFA online planning session. It’s wonderful software ! Mitch is talking the whole time and we could see him. They have powerpoint presentations going. There is a constant stream of chat comments from participants. They had polls for us on how to work with us where we could vote and give our opinion. Lots of great suggestions. Twitter comments. It’s very effective! I hope they do it for each state. It would be a great way to understand what was going on, but what I really liked is being able to give them feedback on my concerns and everything related to the political situation as well as working for the President’s reelection.

I feel so enthused! It’s a wonderful software platform for planning, too. While Mitch was talking I would look over every once in awhile at all the chat comments scrolling by. Lots of good ideas and people who sound so experienced who are volunteering. I remember one man had been a military recruiter. I would like to work on his team! And there seemed to be a lot of people from Texas. I think there was one Monday, too and I didn’t realize it. I think it was the same thing.

What I really liked was being able to give my feedback on what I see going on and know someone in the campaign will see it — whether they think it’s a good idea and act on it or not, I love having my voice heard.

I looked up Herbert Hoover in Wikipedia and the GOP is following his game plan — low taxes, deregulation. He didn’t want to offer any help because he had a fear of people being addicted to the dole. They raised taxes a whopping amount in 1932 and that was one reason we pulled out, along with a jobs program, and regulation. Ryan’s budget would lower taxes further to 1930 levels during the Depression! I can see some great ads comparing them to Hoover.

I also think it should be pointed out regularly that all these cuts the GOP House and GOP governors are doing with public employees are jobs they are cutting. Lay it right at their doorstep.

And then giving feedback on working with volunteers and questions they asked. Very interesting and fun. OFA people are always so enthusiastic.

I tried logging on to that incessantly buggy site for 10 minutes to no avail. I’m so disappointed that the whole thing wasn’t debugged before inviting everyone. Glad it was a good experience for you.

I had to download an Adobe plug-in. I think it was called Adobe Connect. Did you get that message from your browser? Because I had to download the plug-in I had to reset my password. There was a link to request a reset at the log-in screen and the new password sign in was emailed almost immediately. I put in a new password and was able to log on easily.

My computer is an older one so it had trouble handling all of the information it was dealing with, but it worked out well I thought. My browser told me I needed the plug-in. If you don’t need it, you might try requesting a reset password and I would think you could get right in. I think you would enjoy it a lot. It really was fun.

Oh, thanks so much for that information. I have a fairly new laptop and I’ve been on plenty of conference calls but Adobe is considered a very crappy interface on Mac so that was probably the source of my problem. . I usually don’t have any problem with their conference calls so it must be a new platform. ARGH. I don’t have Adobe Connect and i didn’t get the prompt. Strange. I tried using their password and it just didn’t work. I’m so frustrated! Thanks for your help, Suzanne!!

I have Windows XP and I can remember a time when my browser or Windows didn’t tell me when my plug-ins were out of sync. All of a sudden I couldn’t view videos on blogs and didn’t know why. I had two plug-ins that needed updating and I tried all kinds of different help sites before I finally figured it out. I don’t know if they’ve updated that feature by now or not, but I did get the message that I needed the Adobe connect platform to enter.

I think one thing that could help them is if they had more information upfront. That log-in page should say we need Adobe connect. They may not realize that people need to reset their passwords if they have to download the software. I’m sure they will work it out. If I sign up for another meeting, I will suggest that in the comments. I really like knowing that people are going to read everything we say.

It was very, very quick to reset the password so it’s worth a try. Good luck!

I’m just so frustrated with the new OFA set-up. I have a fairly new Macbook Pro that updates frequently but Adobe is a really crap interface that causes lots of problems with the Mac OS, so I’m a little surprised that they would choose this platform. I’ve never had a problem joining OFA conference calls until now so it’s pretty frustrating that there was no information about the new set-up. You’ve been a big help, so thanks again. I’m going to have to go down to Apple HQ and see if I can get someone to help me troubleshoot. It shouldn’t have to be this hard to volunteer.

I also had a hard time time logging on. But I thought it was because of my old, and semi-antiquated, computer that desperately needs to be replaced as soon as my financial situation improves.

That’s incredibly impressive-Obama has readily embraced technology and realizes that it’s a brave new world. This is not our grandfather’s election.

I don’t think Michelle’s home until tomorrow, so it’ll only be Bo waiting for him 😦

It’s so wonderful he has his loving family. When I read the article with Michelle talking about how much he cares, the love she has for him just jumped out. You could feel the love in every word she said.

Now after all my excitement about the OFA meeting, I can look at the pictures. One of the many things that amaze and delight me about President Obama is that he really loves his job. and he seems to take such joy in the moment. That’s what I see in the picture of him smiling at the Air Force officer after a long day traveling and conducting the business of President. I love the pictures and videos, Chipsticks.

Guys, just had a brilliant idea!!!!! I think we should all call Rusty’s office every friday and demand: “Where are the jobs?” Just learned from my gorgeous lover Lawry, that Rusty is ‘appropriating’ our money, approximately $500,000 to secure a lawyer to defend DOMA since PBO won’t in the 10 cases that are currently in progress. How lovely of Rusty to use up the money for this bullshite when he’s huffing and puffing and threatening to blow the entire financial house of the USA down unless he gets his “deep” cuts. A-hole. Then he had the nerve to say that he expects PBO to pay for the shit service (or refund it) he is wasting our money to buy. F-er. Where the F does this tool come off? That stupid mofo. So, since he has no problem wasting money trying to protect that shit law signed by that idiot Clinton (another mess PBO has had to clean up, hello DADT?) we should exercise our free, God given, inalienable rights and call that f-er out. I say synchronized calls to that shithead every Friday, just so that he doesn’t forget that we have his damned number. Piece of crap! Here is his number: 202-225-6205. 😡 😡

Hey GGail, just dropped back in briefly – before sleepies time – to check the pending comments. Lisa can answer for herself, but for what it’s worth I trust her 100%, I’m certain “crap” referred to the GOP, not the Dem videos. She’s one of the good ones! Night again everyone.
