You betcha! He is hot. I cannot imagine how tiring it to be to on the road, speaking, shaking hands and at the same time having to deal with the huge issues he has to contend with each and everyday.

I don’t know if the gov is a D, but she’s sure anxious to give the Prez a hug. A natural response I think.

I have family in that part of NC and I hope they have a chance to be in the President’s presence – if nothing more than hearing the Marine One fly overhead. I’ll call them later for a report.

I am super impressed and encouraged by this discussion the President is leading with his Council on Jobs and Competitiveness. Really great ideas and a lot of them achievable in the short-term. BRAVO to all of them.

This whole video should be part of the re-election campaign, front and center!!!!

I just caught the tail end of his remarks to the Job Council. I would love to hear more about what was discussed that I missed. I did hear him say something about– that if you just listened to the media the last couple weeks that you would think the sky was falling. And he said that is not the case, all numbers are encouraging, that just some common sense steps needed to be added to our strengths, and that it was important for those biz leaders to express optimism and to make clear the initiatives that are being taken to create jobs, improve the economy. He said when he is the only one saying these things, his thoughts tend to be dismissed because he is an elected official, the POTUS, and he is expected to say those things. In other words, a little help from the biz community would be nice.

dotster, it was a terrific forum. One guy even talked about having to go around Congress to get stuff done!! I really hope this is made available as a video at wh.gov because I want to see it again and pass it around to everyone. These folks are working hard on the employment issue and coming up with excellent solutions and cooperation. PBO was very happy about their recommendations. Another stroke of brilliance by PBO to put this group together. I really hope you get to see it!

I completely missed the session, but I’m glad the President said what you quoted. He can’t do this by himself, and the business community already knows that things are looking better, just moving too slowly. A few months ago, consumer confidence was sky high, and people were shopping like crazy. The media and the right wing went to work and demoralized the population with lies about some doomsday scenarios. The business communities have a lot to lose, and yet they just sit by the wayside allowing Republicans and the media to destroy chances for success and even threaten the country’s future with this debt ceiling crap. Other people need to start pulling their weight.

Yes she is a Democrat, her name is Governor Beverly Perdue and she is a supporter of the President. When she ran for Governor she didn’t run away from him like so many orher Democratic cowards did. She is my Governor and I’m proud of her too. So our President was in my home state today. I wish I could have been there to welcome him to the state of North Carolina. But he will be badk again I’m sure. So will our wonderful First Lady.

Companies are sitting on billions and billions of capital rather than investing – they’ve got their tax breaks and are just stashing that money away – if they’re unwilling to spend it than raise the tax rate back up so the Government can use it to spur the economy. That brings us to the next problem –

States are sitting on billions and billions of stimulus money unwilling to invest it to get workers to work. I wish the Obama administration would cal out States sitting on Stimulus money, as I suspect Red States are doing it for political purposes.

I believe companies are not hiring to keep the unemployment up hoping it will help the Republicans get the WH. Our Democratic Senator Hagan is there to greet the President. Our other Senator is that sorry Republican Senator.

I don’t really know why companies would want Republicans in power anyway – their solutions only help them get profits in the short term. Long term, they destroy the country. We can see that in the current situation, where education and infrastructure has fallen behind other countries. A thinking business person would want to stay as far away from Republicans as possible, because they don’t know how to govern! Clearly, the business people backing Republicans are just trying to line their own pockets and they don’t care a fig for the future viability of this country.

I too just listened to the Jobs Council and was so impressed with what they are doing. This is what governing is all about. Getting things done to help the people and not just one segment of the country. I love our President!!!!!

Isn’t he wonderful. That was an excellent presentation. The juxtaposition of the Jobs Council and his activities today with the CNN Republican Debate tonight is very revealing. Mitt Romney sent out a missive today before the debate hammering President Obama on the jobs issue.

Think Progress has some suggested questioning for Mr. Romney. If John King asks anything remotely similar to these questions I will be shocked:

      FORMER MASSACHUSETTS GOV. MITT ROMNEY:

You’ve positioned yourself as a leader on job creation, releasing a web video today attacking President Obama on the bleak jobs picture. But while you were governor, Massachusetts was ranked 47th on job creation. While you were at Bain, the company slashed jobs. And in 2009, when hundreds of thousands of jobs were on the line when General Motors and Chrysler were struggling for survival, you penned an op-ed titled “Let Detroit Go Bankrupt.” The government’s rescue of these companies helped return them to profitability and save jobs. Given your record, how can Americans trust you on job creation?

Okay, seriously, the sixth picture down.. PBo looks uber sexy and uuuuuber tough. His arms are crossed and it looks like he’s glaring from the corner of his eyes. Okay Ms. Chips, enhance that photo, crop out the periphery people, slap it on a poster and bury me with it. I’m done, it’s so over for me, that’s it, this man is too damn much. There’s nothing left to say or do. {{{{{{{retiring sigh}}}}}- I’m feeling a little Scarlet at the foot of that grand stair case at the end of Gone with the Wind coming on.

Thank you Chipsticks for this. I have been going through some heavy pain and problems with my local va clinic.. just a really awful 10 days… and to see POTUS and the little video of the folks who showed up to greet him- has given me a lot of pleasure- so my thanks. He’s so bubbling over -running to greet them, chatting with folks, shaking hands and taking pictures. He’s a good good man, and not only am I so grateful for him amongst all the silly frustrating BS that goes on seemingly everywhere but I’m also grateful for people like you folks here and Chips.. and for that little crowd that made the effort to come out today and to tell him thank you and to show their respect for him- after all he has done for us, for this country and all he continues to do and try to do to better things for all of us, the very least we can do is to show up and say thank you.

oh also, that cnn debate tonight, is it online and if so what time, if anyone knows. As long as I’m in pain.. why not just go all in and listen to these freak republicans ‘debate’ each other.

    • June 13, 2011 at 6:26 pm

Hiya sherijr, so, so sorry to hear about your troubles, is everything okay now?

      • June 13, 2011 at 6:32 pm

Not okay.. but finally after 10 days of this horrific pain, I had blood and urine tests today and finally a ct scan for wednesday morning, Chips- it has taken this long (since they found the cysts on my ovaries 10 days ago- for them to even do a urine test. I’ve even gone as far as contacting Senator Conrad’s office.. to no avail. Though they listened and did contact the new VA patient advocate in Fargo for me.. nothing got done.. until I kept at it. It has been shocking to me, the response from this clinic. Anyway.. I am going to file formal complaints and have discovered after 3 years of going to this clinic that there is actually a Women’s Veteran Advocate in ND and was able to get her contact info. See there is more going on with the pain than the location of these cysts and so I’ve been really worried. Anyway, possibly we are finally on the right track. Thank you for asking Chips 🙂 and again, my thanks to all that you do here for us and for POTUS .

Do you know anything about the debate tonight?

        • June 13, 2011 at 6:48 pm

Oh sherijr, what a nightmare, you’ve been through a truly awful ordeal. I sincerely hope you’re on the road to recovery now, take care of yourself.

I’m tempted to avoid the debate, I’m not sure my stomach could take it.

          It’s at 8.0 ET – I’d guess it’ll be live-streamed by CNN here

          • June 13, 2011 at 7:08 pm

Thank you Chips.. not recovering yet.. do have pain med finally and will get these tests so hopeuflly can get some answers soon. Thanks for the debate info, I don’t want to watch them either, I despise these cretins, but I want to know what they say about POTUS and I want to know what the media does/says in response. I want to hear how the questions are phrased by the media, are they framing them all as attacks on the dems and President Obama.. I want to be able to respond to their lies. so I better listen, plus I’m already sick, so they can’t make it any worse for me right now 😉
