newt’s campaign sure is going well

Washington Post: Newt Gingrich’s presidential campaign imploded Thursday afternoon with his entire senior staff resigning en masse… “When the campaign and the candidate disagree on the path, they’ve got to part ways,” said Rick Tyler, a longtime Gingrich spokesman who was among those who left the campaign.

Tyler as well as Rob Johnson, Gingrich’s campaign manager, Dave Carney and Katon Dawson, senior strategists to the effort, media consultant Sam Dawson, Iowa strategist Craig Schoenfeld, South Carolina operative Walter Whetsell and Georgia-based adviser Scott Rials have all stepped aside. Much of Gingrich’s early state operation was also headed for the exits…

…Gingrich released a statement via Facebook pledging to continue in the race: “I am committed to running the substantive, solutions-oriented campaign I set out to run earlier this spring,” Gingrich wrote. “The campaign begins anew Sunday in Los Angeles.”

Among the issues leading to the resignations … was the two-week vacation that Gingrich and his wife, Callista, insisted upon taking against the advice of his top political staff. Coming as it did after one of the most disastrous campaign launches in recent memory….

…Carney and Johnson are longtime aides to Texas Gov. Rick Perry who has said in recent days that he is contemplating a run for president himself in 2012. The Carney and Johnson resignations will fuel speculation that Perry is moving toward the race.

That’ll teach him to go to the beach like that.

This guy couldn’t purchase a clue. The other thing to note is that a couple of these deserters are former campaign staff to another right-wing joke, Rick Perry. So keep an eye on that situation. UGH.

I don’t think his was a truly serious presidential campaign. More likely it is just a money-making adventure, but at this rate he may not be able to dupe the fools out of their hard-earned cash. Poor Leroy 😦 .

PJ you are correct. That’s why Newt went on this vacation. He doesn’t care what folks say. He is in this for the money. Rachel can add this to his scams. 🙂 I get the feeling that Rachel detests Newt.

Odds are the Gingrich staff will jump to the Perry’s campaign as the campaign chief and top NH aide both worked for Perry camaigns in the past. If Perry runs, I think the primary instantly becomes Perry vs Romney with everybody else pushed to irrelevance.

Perry’s another joke who won’t get anywhere near the White House. He’s vile and evil. Why do you want to lead the country you hate so much, that you want to secede (sp)?

“Fox News reported staff were angry after he took a recent holiday cruise.” A “high-end” one at that.

Well who’da thunk that repugs wouldn’t take kindly to this, but something tells me there’s more to it than that.

How many times can he begin “anew”? He’s old and a retread…there is no anew for him.
In a recent poll in Texas, the result was that Perry would garner the votes of only 4% of Texans for president. My son and daughter-in-law live in Texas, they and many others have no use for him. We do NOT want another Texas governor as president!!!

Newt the job killer and The Quitter and The Chump – these people just use the election process like an ad agency. Just open a PAC, collect a lot of money, sell books and reality shows, hike speaker fees and away they go. Hopefully, this will be the last round for Newt but who knows? He’s been pulling the same game for years.

Schadenfreude. Apparently this is a new one as he got ‘fired’ by his staff . Why anyone would take this guy seriously is beyond me.
