Or the kids will find him!! Kids LOVE him!!! I mentioned in another thread, that when we worked the primary and the general in Philadelphia, we had “The Wall of Obama babies” This would have DEFINITELY made the wall! The cuteness is just ridiculous!!!

Yes, Sue and my dear friends, I was thinking some of the same thoughts as Sue. This is too precious. What a man of sweetness in his spirit that we have as our President. We have got to re-elect this President for these precious ones here in this photo. This made my day even more beautiful. Thanks so much , Chipsticks for posting this.

It is an adorable photo, but the mom in me doesn’t like the open window with no protective screen. Maybe it’s because I just read about a wifey pushing her hubby out of a 26th floor apt. window after a “disagreement”. And why doesn’t that one baby have on any clothes? Maybe because it’s so hot, and she’s going for the easy/breezy only a dipe style for today.

      June 9, 2011 at 8:57 pm

Heart tugging moment aside …I think that is a fair and just criticism. I also don’t like to see children without clothes, shoes or shirts, in public places.

        June 9, 2011 at 9:03 pm

I don’t think that was the case at all. I do think the teachers knew the President was in sight and gathered the babies by the window to see him!! I don’t think such small children could reach window height without assistance so a stool or a bench must have been placed there so they can see the President. I am pretty sure the teachers were standing behind them and regarding the baby that is not clothed maybe he/she was about to take a bath and then the President arrived so the teachers just sent him/her at the window to get a peek. I don’t see the big deal though? But I get you all point. That’s just my take.

P I think those are great points. Ummm, those are very small children – it is doubtful they could have made it to the ledge by themselves. Perhaps the little one with no shirt just spilled his breakfast all other his shirt that can and does happen. Thanks for your insights.

A day late but, babies are babies, and it’s the only time they get to run around nearly naked in the heat (although there are quite a few grown-ups trying to do the same thing.) When we were little we ran around without tops in the heat of summer. We also spilled juice, so tops need washing. Don’t we all wish we could do that now when the mercury hits 99 degrees? LOL!

      June 9, 2011 at 10:26 pm

Oh, Dot, I said the same thing!!!! In fact, it kinda made the cuteness fade away. Plus, I thought the middle guy was ‘easy breezy’ too. Keep in mind, it was 100 degrees here in Philadelphia. So DC was probably just as hot or hotter.

      So……. I’m gonna go with 2 thoughts.
      1. They took the screen out for the shot.
      2. There are at least 2 adults right there, and I mean RIGHT THERE!!, either squatting behind the kids or right inside by the wall , and thus out of the camera shot.

That’s my story, and I’m sticking to it.

        June 9, 2011 at 10:36 pm

FYI- DC’s high was 102 degrees…tying the record which was established since 1834!!!! Just puts that photo in perspective…

  19. June 9, 2011 at 8:51 pm

Its pictures like this that give you a glimpse of the incredible “Gentleness” of our President. Not trying to vey to position himself for the best possible angle, no its a look at a gentle, kindred spirit. At this moment President Obama was interacting with the little children. They had his complete and full attention. Its candid shots like this that shows the President has a certain pure affability rarely seen in people in office except when they’re “shaking hands and kissing babies” for photo ops. I wonder if the President even knew someone was taking his photo? OBAMA IN 2012! Yes…We can do it again!

Keep in mind that this is a relatively affluent area (Bethesda MD) and so this is probably a very expensive and well-run facility. It’s likely that in anticipation of the President’s visit to his daughter’s school, the kids were probably propped up to the windows by their teachers, with many adults nearby both inside and on the outside.
