Do you think Donna is close enough to get her hand shook. There’s alot of people there.

    • June 7, 2011 at 9:36 am

I found myself trying to guess which person was Donna – which was kind of daft, considering I have no idea what Donna looks like 😳

OH MY GOSH, I think I just saw Donna shake PBO’s hand!!!! If that’s her, she got pretty close up front to the rope line and it looks like Donna. She had a VERY big smile on her face and was also taking picture. OMG, I think that was her!! The camera was there for just a few seconds but it did look like her. I surely hope it is!!!!! If it’s her, then hopefully she will be captured on the official video!! Can’t wait to hear back from her today.

I did think I would see a second or two on CNN or MSNBC, but maybe I missed it. But you better believe they can follow that idiot Palin around like a dam puppy dog. But that’s our stupid media. The First Lady look lovely as usual, I love that dress.

Good Morning anniebella. I concur with you. I got up just to make sure that I would see it. I watched from C-SPAN. I checked to see if CNN, MSNBC would have it on, and of course, nothing(when I checked) It is sad. But we have Chipsticks to thank so much for her beautiful skills in keeping us abreast on the important issues. Thank you, Chipsticks. You are the best.

Frau Merkel seems so flattered. She loved it when President Obama pointed out that they both don’t look much like their predecessors. She can be kind of cute sometimes. But that’s just me right now, I’m overwhelmed. How I love to hear PBO say something in German! But I am most jealous of Merkel meeting Michelle!!! No – actually, I don’t want our stupid foreign minister Westerwelle to meet either Michelle or PBO. He just doesn’t deserve it, I really dislike him.

Good morning everyone, I was watching closely to see which one could be Donna, though I never met her, and I have no idea what she looks like, but maybe she’ll get a chance to point herself out hopefully, a little later 🙂

  10. June 7, 2011 at 10:05 am

      June 7, 2011 at 11:01 am

The winds have blown smoke and ash from those fires here to New Mexico. Not good, particularly for people with respitory conditions and they’ve been asking people to stay indoors as much as possible. Last night the moon looked like a slice of watermelon.

Really nice ceremony. I just can’t look at the pictures too closely, they’re too funny. I’ve never seen Merkel laugh like she does standing next to Michelle. What a difference in what women can look like! Let’s hope she doesn’t wear something like this tonight:

This picture was taken at the opera in Oslo and it generated a lot of heat and big discussions here in Germany about whether a head of state should show her decolleté like this. It was shocking because no one had ever seen Merkel like that. but I guess she won’t try it again 🙂

    • June 7, 2011 at 10:07 am

Oh crikey CA, I remember that photo!!!! It was an, err, extraordinary choice of costume!!

      June 7, 2011 at 10:59 am

OMgoodness! That pic! Yes, that was a bit TOO much, but you now I feel somewhat happy for her cause she did really look pretty and feminine. Those are two adjectives I would not normally use to describe Merkel. Maybe she needs fashion advice from that show on TLC “What Not to Wear.” It is so wonderful to see her smiling so much today at the White House!

Um, alright now Chancellor Merkel. I can see one of the reasons Joachim Sauer liked her…she has nice cleavage. It is a bit much, though, for someone who usually wears boxy pants suits. She has let the German people get use to a “sexy ” Angela. She can’t just spring it on Germany like that after, honestly, dressing in a very manly way.

Chief of Protocol of the United States Capricia Marshall is one of my sheroes, so thanks for the video, Chips. She is a first generation American, the daughter of immigrant parents; her father is Croatian and her mother is Mexican. 13. June 7, 2011 at 10:21 am

The reason why they never show the president at events like this is, it is ver presidential and they will no longer be able to push there bs meme that the president cannot connect!
    It is all a smear.
The msm and GOP are in cahoots.
It is on cspan right now!

  14. June 7, 2011 at 10:24 am

House GOP says it wants federal workforce to be reduced by 10 percent.
Federal workforce, including the military, is over 2.5million workers.
So, the house GOP wants 250k jobs cut.

    Are they mad?

    • 42 Hachikō
      June 7, 2011 at 11:27 am

No they’re not mad. They want to destroy Obama’s presidency and chances at re-election. It’s that simple and that diabolic.

  15. June 7, 2011 at 10:28 am

Once the public finds out that Romney inherited most of his money from daddy and made the rest of his money in china and India, me thinks they will have a different view of him!

    • 44 hopefruit2
      June 7, 2011 at 10:33 am

Jovie, You have to take these polls with the appropriate amount of salt. He’s not beating Obama in ANYTHING. Romney has run for President before – and FAILED. He isn’t going anywhere, despite what the GOPMSM tries to tell you. Voters aren’t buying the crap that the RNC PAC and Koch brothers are putting out there. This latest poll about Obama having record high disapproval on the economy is nothing more than a media orchestrated hit piece to continue the GOPMSM crap that was started with the jobs report.

      • June 7, 2011 at 10:40 am

I agree, but the indes get all of there news from the msm. So, it is an issue and we have to do better!

The one time we won the argument with the GOP was during the budget battle, there were senate democrats all over the news. And we won the battle.
So far for this debt ceiling vote, crickets!!!

          June 7, 2011 at 12:03 pm

If the indies were really basing their voting decisions on the MSM, we would have had President John McCain and VP Sarah Palin. Because from August-Nov 3 2008, everything out there in the MSM was “Good News for John McCain!!!”

    Good Morning:-)

I found this on yahoo…and this comment, pretty much sums up what we all think of the

A Plea to Fellow Republicans — Stop Defending Sarah Palin

As a Republican, it pains my heart to watch the response to Sarah Palin’s latest gaffe. Like so many times before, Palin has put herself on the hot plate and shown that she does not know when to be quiet….

The latest situation with Palin messing up the history of Paul Revere is a perfect example. It is clear to anyone that saw the video that Palin had no clue what she was talking about.
It was a moment of verbal vomit that made her seem like she had never attended grade school. The entire episode could have been prevented any number of ways. Palin could have simply ignored the question and kept walking. Palin could have changed the subject.

More importantly, Palin could have actually took a moment to read about Revere before visiting so that she would be prepared for the gaggle of reporters that were sure to follow her. That would have been novel for her….

After a couple of years of defending and trying to make sense of Sarah Palin, it is time for Republicans to say enough. Sarah Palin had a chance to come out and say she messed up. Sarah was too arrogant to do so.

Perhaps it is time that we Republicans simply admit we messed up in backing Palin and move forward. Liberals are not afraid of Sarah Palin. That is wishful thinking to say the least.

    They pray for her nomination.

I wonder about people some times, they know what the Republicans are all about, they see it from Medicare to the unions, to tax cuts for the rich, they see what they have done about jobs which is nothing, and on and on and on. I know it is so early, but if by some miracle a Republican is put in the White House, then American deserve exactly what it gets. When you have a good trustworthy person, a person who is working hard for you, but you can’t or won’t see it. President Obama is doing his best, and you want to get rid of him, believe me Romney or any other Republican won’t make our life better. We aren’t rich, they don’t give a dam about the poor or middle class.

    • June 7, 2011 at 10:48 am

I have watched or seen pictures of the arrival ceremonies when PBO has visited other countries and I have always thought how silly and out-dated is the military dress. Our troops look, fresh, modern, professional and formidable. Even the dum corps in their American Revolution uniforms out shine the foreign troops. This is not only national pride speaking.

The Commanding Officer is incredible (and strangely,Hot).

It is obvious that PBO and Chancellor Merkle enjoy and respect each other. There is a real relationship there.
