That place-setting is simply stunning. I’m so glad the First Lady does this before each State Dinner. Thi is what it means to lift up the community and mentor young people. Bravo!

Whatever she chooses to wear, and it is only her choice, she will be beautiful and gracious as she always is.

I agree Ceb and Fred, our First Lady will look great as always. And what she is doing for the young ladies is just wonderful. So proud of her.

Mrs. Obama never fails to impress me with her unwavering and unfaltering committment to America’s youth. The old adage “children should be seen and not heard”….falls to the wayside. She is incredibly gracious, this is where her heart is – I’m thankful that Mrs. Obama did not allow the self-absorption of Washington to re-shape her agenda. Children are on par with heads of state, poor with the rich, people of color with whites, foregin with domestic , the old with the young – there is so much that is revolutionary about the Obamas. Amazing!

Bravo FLOTUS! This is an experience that these young people will remember for the rest of their lives. And they are being exposed to FINE dinning.

I love the fact that she makes these historical moments teach the young people how a State Dinner is organized. Making good use of the time that leads up to the beautiful event.

POTUS and FLOTUS just welcomed Chancellor Merkel and husband. They all look fabulous. And, Chancellor Merkel is in a dress for those who wondered.

I have to stand up for one thing Chris Matthews did tonight. In his “Let Me Finish” segment at the end, he dealt with Sarah Palin and her non history understanding beautifully. He said she is not interested in governing, she is only interested in keeping people in fear and making them distrust government. He was quite explicit and clear, and the segment is a jewel. I know he goes up and down a lot, but this segment at the end of tonight’s show was powerful and right on. He spoke the truth about her.

p.s. to above…..I never watch his entire show…he exhausts me, We turn in to that last segment before our local news. Sometimes it’s weak, but often it is actually good. That is enough of him for me.
