I’ve been having PBO withdraws. I’m glad we get to see/hear him today. I hope I don’t sound like a lunatic, lol.

You sound perfectly normal to me, Collegekay 😆

      Too cute :-).

[I have a theory that when I start seeing doom-and-gloom/chicken littleish/over-anxious comments on Obamabot sites, it’s usually when folks haven’t seen enough of him, LOL.]

Glad to see my President and First Lady look gorgeous and rested. I hope and trust the girls are doing well, too.

      Thanks, Chips!

I think that’s true for most liberal blogs too not just Obamabot sites. I’ve seen lots of frustration and anxiety elsewhere.

          June 2, 2011 at 8:52 pm

Maybe, but I was talking about the wide mood swings I see among my fellow bots. Last week, lots of high fives, laughs, celebrations, but let the Prez go into hiding for just a day and a half, and the comments take a turn for the worse — very quickly. I enjoy the comments, but I especially enjoy people who continue to post uplifting things that don’t feed into the anxiety at such times. Just my observation :-).

In a way I understand were you are coming from PoliticalJunkessa. I think there isn’t one of us who think the re-election of Barack Obama will be easy, it will be a battle. But it will be a hard fought battle, from all sides. Meaning as a supporter of President Obama, I am going to fight for this man re-election, because I believe in this man. And I believe everyone up here will do the same.

You nailed it PJ. I was so high during the overseas days. Now we deal with the horror of the republiscums. It is easy to get down. All of those who want to diminish and destroy PBO. It is a heart breaker.

DR, we have to fight it. Yes I am so sorry with all the crap President Obama have had to deal with, but if we believe in this man, we have to be ready to fight for him.

I think part of the downturn in emotion was because the President was “missing in action” this week, and the Republicans flooded the scene and filled the vaccuum, with absolutely no visible pushback from Democrats. That amount of negativity is a little overwhelming, and came as a bit of a shock immediately after such an uplifting week. It’s also a shame that after not seeing much coverage on an important trip by the leader of this country, we are haunted and tortured with 24/7 coverage of a quitting, irresponsible woman who does nothing for anyone but herself. The combination was explosive.

Anyone else having problems getting CNN video? I get sound and their endless commercials but no video when I select a livestream. This has been going on since yesterday. I’m on a MacBook Pro, tried both Safari and Firefox. Thx.

Our president is truly a Renaissance man. I wondered why he was chosen to introduce the 2011 Laureate and was surprised and pleased to learn that he has a an almost life-long interest in architecture; so much so that it was one of his career choices when he was younger. Of course, being surrounded by the famous and important work of world -renowned American architects in Chicago underscores this interest. From the emcees remarks it appears that PBO has been a patron of and had some connection with this group for years.

I listened to the audio only stream from WH.gov. I always have trouble with CNN live streams.

Dem House caucus unfortunately doesn’t matter. Boehner’s majority rules. I don’t know why Admin talking to McConnell for that matter either unless the GOP would filibuster the ceiling vote which would be brutal optics. I guess the Dem House caucus will matter if Boehner loses 24 or more of his caucus votes – which he probably would if there is a negotiated agreement with the Obama White House as it will never be enough for the teabaggers.

Sometimes my imagination drifts in that direction in a kind of aimless sentimental journey. We will forever likely think of our lives as pre- and post-Obama era. I hope and think that he will continue to write and speak and do something very interesting that engages our imagination. I think about all the years ahead in which he can influence a great many sectors of American life. But it will surely be a very empty landscape without the First Family in our lives on a daily basis. They have been such great examples and they have changed my life. Honestly, I try not to think about it.
