Kasai posted a comment a while ago with a terrific list of media contacts, urging everyone to make their voices heard to fight the lies.
I’ve created a permanent page with all those contacts and added it to the sidebar on the right – click ‘Contact the media’ under the heading ‘Make your voice heard’.
If anyone wants to add contact details to the list, just post them in the comments here and I’ll update the page.

Speaker of the House John Boehner and House Majority leader Eric Cantor walk to the microphones to speak to the media after their meeting with President Barack Obama on the deficit and debt
Hey Rusty, nice Mohawk.
****
I mentioned the other night the frustration of regular visitors to the blog having their comments held up in ‘pending’, and not being freed from that prison until I stop snoring and return to my computer 😕
Just to explain, in an effort to keep out Tea creatures and Professional Leftie types, only those who register an account with WordPress and have a previously ‘approved’ comment on the blog will see their comments automatically appear. Honestly, if I didn’t do it that way the place would be overrun by hate!
Registering an account with WordPress – the hosts of this blog – is free (here) and you don’t have to start your own blog once you sign up. So, if you want, register an account, and make sure you log in before you comment here – that way your comments will appear immediately.

Sorry I wasn’t able to be around much today, will catch up soon. See you tomorrow 😉
Thanks Chipsticks for posting the Contacts! I had copied/pasted the list, but your access will be much easier. You’re the BEST!. Also, I see you are only $145.00 away from your OFA contribution goal of $1,500. I will make another contribution. Every little bit will help – for you do SO MUCH for us, your TOD family. God bless you Chipsticks!
GGail, I completely love ya! See you tomorrow, and thanks for everything.
Just a quick tip… don’t just write to the general contact email address. Many reporters provide their own email address withe story.
CHIPS YOU ARE THE BEST!!!! Now I can just link the page! I am definitely donating to the campaign, IN YOUR HONOR!
isonprize, you’re making me blush!! I’d love to take the credit, but you need to bow before the mighty Kasai!
Chipsticks, you should never apologize. You are the Queen. Never forget that. dr
Fabulous work Chips and Kasai!
I noticed one contact that could be deleted, the Glenn Beck show. It was cancelled…right?
Not until this October I believe.

I’ve read articles for quite a while where the GOP is indicating they don’t think they will beat President Obama. There is a lot of GOP posturing going on now with the intention of influencing voters and getting press and media focused on them. It will get louder and it just means that they are more distressed.
I agree, Chipsticks, let the networks hear about it. I love doing that. It feels so good!!! And so much better than just griping in a comment. The media has the idea that if they promote controversy they get more attention so something very effective is to tell them you will stop watching.
Our President is a very intelligent, focused man. He’s always surprising people who underestimate him. He has a wonderful staff working for him and working for his reelection. Business people in this country realize that Democrats are good for the economy and good for their businesses. President Obama has been reaching out with compassion and love to so many people the whole time he has been in office. He loves a challenge and really wants to make a difference. He’s the right man at the right time.
All we have to do is follow our hearts and along the way, have fun with it. We will be able to accomplish so much more that way.
I have been reading positive, interesting articles about the President for a couple of hours and I am enthused! Good night, Chipsticks and wishes for a wonderful evening to all.
Chipsticks, I lost the tabs under your header except the contact the media tab. Not sure if this is the gremlin effect or because of the change. Time for sleep!
Hey Chipsticks I just finished making a movie slide entitled “Hope”.
I hope you guys like it.
Have a good night everyone.
This is really lovely! Thanks donna – the music is hauntingly beautiful, and the man in all the shots is equally beautiful. Nice note to end a tumultuous day on. Have a good night!
Thanks theo.
Hey Donna. Great video. Filled with hope and optimism. Keep up the wonderful work and thanks for cheering us up.
Lovely video.
GREAT job, Donna. You really touched my heart. I loved it!
That’s beautiful. I just posted it on Facebook.
Donna, your movie hit the beauty of our President. Thank you so much for sharing.
Good night,
M.
Oh my gosh…simply beautiful. Weave in faith, and God will find the threads.
Yes.We.Can.
Gee Donna this is so beautiful. You did an excellent job!!!
Gorgeous, Donna!!!!
There’s a photo there I hadn’t seen before, it looks like it’s from Joplin, perhaps in a private meeting (?) where PBO is hugging an elderly woman. So touching. A beautiful depiction of the lows and highs our President goes through with such grace.
I truly appreciate this. Thank you.
Donna, WOWOWOW. I just had a chance to watch this. That was very cool. I love to see him with kids. He is such a riot, and at his most animated. It’s like they give him new energy, new life, to keep doing what he does for them.
Oh, Donna, theo67 and anniebella, I am just lying here and crying like a baby. The music is so moving and so moving alongside of such a loving and wonderful President. We have much to be grateful for and much work to help him accomplish. Thanks all of you for your contributions and love. I need to go and look at my budget and see where and how I will donate this month. These fixed incomes are very tight, but I will give from my heart and I know God bless that and all of us. We need to win this for 2012. So many people are counting on us. We Will. I love you Chipsticks for all that you do. Goodnight.

Here’s an update on Henry the 8th 🙂
Beautiful and touching.
Thanks Donna
Chipsticks, thank you for the addresses. I have been writing semi-regularly the past months, and am glad to have more addresses for writing. I think it’s important to be very specific in our letters, not scatter shot generalities.
I must commend you for creating this fantastic blog. Every day it is a must read for me. It is so nice to be able to visit a site that doesn’t revel in the constant negativity. Keep up the outstanding work!!!
Oh that movie slide is so beautiful. You guys are so creative and full of uplifting messages. I was reading about Henry VIII becoming a babe magnet. He such a nice young lad and I wish him the best. In the comments someone posted Herman’s Hermits “Henry the VIII I Am.” I had to laugh because I posted the song here the other night. I haven’t been around for a few days and wanted to pop in and see what was going on. I know that I can get the most enlightened news here and lots of giggles.
Thanks Chips for posting the contact media. I get so frustrated with them and want to become active in supporting our President. Also, will be adding to the donations when I receive my debit and credit cards in the mail. I couldn’t find them and had taken cover for a tornado warning and lost them or so I thought. I don’t mess around with them so called for replacements immediately. They should arrive this week.
Has anyone else on Medicare received any mail lately. I am a little anxious since I received a letter from my State Retirement telling me they will no longer handle my Medicare D policy and I need to notify that company by June 10 in writing that I want to keep the policy. Also, I have been using my husbands Social Security payments because they paid more than mine because he was on disability. Well, they wrote me and want me to check on my own SS and start using it since it may be more than his. Yeh right!! Then I received a letter from my life insurance company asking for $150 extra they are charging me and I have to send it in immediately or they will drop me. What is going on??????? I always get nervous dealing with Medicare and SS because I am not use to it. Sorry for taking all this space to grip but I know that Gov. Brownback is out to get me. I have never liked that man. He is trying to undo all the work Obama did on the healthcare and I don’t trust him.
Want to hear some good news? I will be 70 years old on June 10th. I never thought I’d live past 42 years. I guess I had myself fooled. 😆 Love to you all.
Oh, I love Rusty’s mohawk. 😆
I don’t know about this one! I sm watching an hearing on span about the Iraq war. The 30 american colonies have am interest in Iraq and want 10 k US troops to stay behind.
Of course, maliki and several in the Iraqi government has said no.
This is big oil flexing there muscles and I do not see how the president will sell this one to us, if Iraq approves this.
One problem after another, and as always the president takes the logical choice, however, at some point, the president has to start thinking about himself and not try to solve every problem in the world!
What good does all this long term approach go, if he is only a one term president? Because, the republicans will roll back everything.
Craziness!!!
Donna,
Loved the video; such contrasts of the despair and hope that our president and nation have experienced in such a short time.
Barb, AARP or other senior advocate groups in your community may be able to help with your questions about medicare, SS, and insurance, or some governmental agency. I find it especially troubling that as we come to a time when we may be most vulnerable that we must navigate such a convoluted system to get what we have earned. Hang in there, and happy 70th.
The ACLU in Florida has brought suit against Rick Scott for his new mandates that those receiving welfare and unemployment benefits must take a drug test that they must pay for. The suit points out that this is an overreach of powers and that people cannot be required to do this without just suspicion. In Rick the D###’s mind, citizens who need help are criminals. What is this fool sniffing? He is also under federal investigation after putting one of his cronies over an agency and firing staffers who protested. Other staffers became whistleblowers and the fed are involved. After all low polls, challenges, and voter disgust, his answer is to reinstate the tax free holiday to shop for school in August. This is after the largest cuts in education that anyone has ever seen. This is to curry favor; hopefully people will not let this bone blind them to all of the egregious policies that he has rammed through. When I contrast what he and other recently elected republican governors have done, destruction and exclusion, with what the president has done, creation and inclusion, the choice is stark and clear. Obama/Biden 2012

Obama fundraisers asked to raise 60 million by end of June!
Look like Boehner is having his windy hair day, doesn’t it? And what’s up with the look on Canter’ face. Oh yea, Mitt the two face Romeny make his announcement today in New Hampshire, just as Palin the media whore arrives in New Hampshire. Boy where’s the respect for Romney?
Yep, I was wondering what was up up with Boehners hair. Did he run out of grecian formula or something? It looks like the tea party not only has him losing his mind,he’s losing his hair as well. If i had to deal with those kooky folks, I’d be bald by now.
good morning TOD family.
May GOD guide;bless and protect the President as he has to deal with the damage in Boston and DemoWIMPS today.
Beltway is hoping the economy is in the tanks, hoping for a double dip to get rid of this president.
Of course, the only way Romney beats Obama is if the economy fails.
Beltway is really assisting the GOP and scaring the shit out if Americans.
It is not going to be an easy election.
I blame those who should be hiring but doesn’t want to pay healthcare for their employees 😡
I hate to say this, but that Heath care bill may be what is holding up the hiring!
I doubt that very much. These companies are raking in huger profits than ever. The health care bill is just an excuse, a very empty one at that. They are not hiring because they are hoping that it will hurt the President in 2012. They were starting to hire but now that PBO has captured Bin Ladin, and his approvals have gone up with the Ryan budget, they are trying to thwart economic progress. But Americans aren’t as stupid as they think. Just ask the Americans in those states like Florida who may have initially voted for Republicans but are now learning their lessons and won’t put any of those clowns in power in the near future.
that’s not true.
Its what they are all saying on the business channels, that and de regulate the markets so they can start to hire again!
This is far right nonsense of boom and bust, but it is what they want. To much money at the top. If we get a lousy jobs report on friday, this could be very bad for us.
Question: How does the republicans manage to put there plan into motion and get no pushback…?
I promise you this jovie: IT WON’T WORK. It will backfire big time. If you notice, it’s the Republican governors who are experiencing the most drastic drops in approvals – not the President. Furthermore, the Republicans who were elected in 2010 promising jobs, jobs, jobs, haven’t produced a single job. WHERE ARE THE JOBS, Mr. Boehner??? That’s what the media should be asking. The American people are on to the GOP and MSM’s antics and they will pay them at the polls in 2012.
I hope you are right, but it is a TRAP! And they have spring it, with there friends in the MSM and on Wall Street to help them!
We cannot just ignore this, it is there plan to get rid of this ppresident. What was once a slam dunk, is no more than 50-50, now with the economy faultering!
Just saying!
And, Me thinks BWD and Chipsticks know this, have you noticed that BWD has scaled back her posts considerably? She is very concerned that the republicans plan is coming to fruition.
Jovie, please don’t speculate about BWD like that. I know you’re worried but we’ve got to toughen up. This election season hasn’t even gotten started yet and it is going to be brutal. We’ve been there before. We can’t let the tabloid MSM and lies from the right-wing knock us off our game every day. Stay level and fight back. We are all in this together. Have faith.
Heh, it seems the republican governors are trying to help re-elect President Obama.
The only thing scaring the shit out of this American, is the newly elected Republican Goverment here is Michigan. I don’t mind paying higher taxes for a good cause, but to fund big business while our kids, and the poor and the elderly suffer? NO! And to add, insult to injury the repubs in Washington are trying to put my Medicare on the chopping block. I am definitely fired up and ready to go.
Jovie, no it won’t be a easy election, but remember the House is in the Republicans hands, and what is they doing. What have they done? I am hoping that people will see that this President is working hard to get things right. But the Republicans haven’t done a dam thing for the economy. All they have done was try to destroy things, hoping that people will run to them, but you remember in 2010 the Republicans were given a chance and from the state legislation, to the governors and the House, everything can’t be blame on President Obama. Tell me what have you seen the Republicans do for the economy? The governors poll numbers in Florida, New Jersey, Ohio, Wisconsin, maybe others are in the tank, so that mean people are not satifed with these guys either. So we shall see what happen in 2012, but I’m still with President Obama 100%, and I will be out there fighting to get others to stick with him.
where’s Chip?
I told you! Both chip and BWD are saddened that the republicans plan of wrecking the economy and blaming it on this President, is starting to work and play itself out!
Thus, they have not been posting as often, including this morning!
I hope the Presdient has a counter to this power struggle that is going on… He cannot let this play itself out!
??????
I haven’t posted yet because I’m tied up with work!! It has nothing to do with Republican lies ‘starting to work’!!
morning Chip.How ya doing? 🙂
Sorry! I hope you have a good day at work! I guess I just assumed you were in the same boat as BWD! She has articulated her despair on the economy and how there lies are starting to work.
My bad!
Jovie maybe we could try to help keep BWD’s spirits up, or simply abide until her anxiety subsides (which will be soon). Take for instance, the hope video that Donna posted. This is a wonderful way to energize and keep us focused.
Again, what we and media need to be asking is: Where are jobs, Mr. Boehner?
I’m starting to wonder about Jovie. I am not down. As I said before I will be fighting for this President till I can’t fight anymore. The election is not tomorrow, so why all this doom and gloom. I am sure the President and his people know he is going to have to fight, and Jovie you better believe he will fight, and so will those who support him. I know I will. The economy may be down, but I see nothing on the Republican side which is any better than this President, as a matter of fact the Republicans themselves aren’t even please with their canidates. That is why they are still begging that Christie of New Jersey to get in the race. Jovie just because we are positive, and try to be up beat, doesn’t mean we don’t know how the Republicans work, how low down dirty they are. What is going on with the economy, we see, we listen, we read, we live, and one more thing, we will be fired up and ready to go for this President.
Oh quit it, jovie. Don’t start bring that mess over here :-).
You are right, everything is just grand. No problems, the economy and the debt ceiling is just a blip on the screen. The republican governors are not a problem. Riiiggghht!
Here is the thing, I am very pro active, I have emailed every media outlet bc of there bias, I am even involved with helping run Pinellas County OFA grass roots in Clearwater Florida.
Which is where I am typing this from. We all realize what the GOP plan is, and we want to convey the message.
Maybe, I do not do it artfully, like some here can, and without pissing people off. But we have some major problems, that are going to have to be addressed.
Thus, bringing problems to a website full of supporters, is not as mindboggling- as you might suggest!
We all understand the problems. We all understand they need addressing. Many of us, like you, volunteer. We are pro-active. You’re not the only one. What I was referring to is your assumption that Chipsticks would be too anxious to post. LOL, as if! This is a calm space (or at least has been). Hopefully it can remain that way even as we grapple with today’s realities. We don’t need to be on continuous! anxiety! alerts!!!!!
It’s all good. That’s just my opinion — I defer, of course to Chips as it is her site.
Have a great day, Jovie :-D.
Thank you Donna for a lovely film which captures the essence of our President.
Good morning Chips and wonderful TOD family. I haven’t been able to comment for awhile but I read everyday. You all are so awesome. Donna, that was a great video and the list of contacts is great. I never know the right place to go when I want to write so I usually don’t. This will spur me to voice my opinion.
Now on with the day. Have a great one everyone.
Morning TOD family. Hey, Mittens announces today attacking our brilliant president. We need to remind America of Mittens’ record on job creation. From a Reuter’s story:
“He was a corporate raider who often made companies profitable, not by helping them perform better – but by simply laying off employees and killing jobs,” said Ray Buckley, Democratic Party chairman of New Hampshire.
Bain Capital, which Romney headed for more than a decade, specialized in leveraged buyouts: buying companies with money borrowed against their assets, grooming them to be sold off, and in the interim collecting huge fees.
Later, as Massachusetts governor from Jan. 2003 to Jan. 2007, Romney presided over one of the puniest rates of employment growth among the 50 U.S. states, at a time the nation’s economy was booming. Labor Department figures showed Massachusetts ranked 47th in the rate of jobs growth in those four years.”
http://thenewsonline.mx/index.php/world/W04-8954.htm
And I am desperately trying to find out if the plastic man was so great, why did he only serve one term as governor? Was it to run for president in 2008? Just wondering.
That last paragraph is the key. We need to hammer home that plastic man’s state was near the bottom in job growth when the nation’s economy was booming.

DOE Announces $27 Million to Reduce Costs of Solar Energy Projects, Streamline Permitting and Installations
WASHINGTON, DC – As part of the Obama Administration’s SunShot Initiative to make solar energy cost-competitive with fossil fuels within the decade, U.S. Department of Energy Secretary Steven Chu today announced the availability of more than $27 million in new funding that will reduce the non-hardware costs of solar energy projects, a critical element in bringing down the overall costs of installed solar energy systems.
The funding will support a $12.5 million challenge to encourage cities and counties to compete to streamline and digitize permitting processes, as well as $15 million that will be made available to advance innovations in information technology systems, local zoning and building codes and regulations, and more. These process improvements and innovations will help increase U.S. competitiveness in the global solar industry and will play an important role in achieving President Obama’s goal of doubling America’s electricity from clean energy sources.
“These investments under the SunShot program can help to transform the solar energy industry by addressing significant challenges to solar energy deployment, including permitting and installation,” said Secretary Chu. “Innovations in IT and local business processes, such as online permit applications, can deliver significant savings for solar energy systems and will help America to compete globally in this growing market.”

thanks Jovie and POB for those links
POB what a link of this fraud that is Romney
Steve Benen takes on the Republican Party penchant for hostage taking. Clearly they are the biggest threat to the economic recovery and future of this country. The paragraph below pretty much says it all. And the feckless media looks the other way.
—————————————————————————
MAKING THE HOSTAGE STRATEGY EXPLICIT:
In the abstract, this is arguably one of the great political scandals of recent American history. There is no modern precedent for a political party acting like an organized crime family this shamelessly. The American public isn’t hearing much about these tactics, but I can’t help but wonder what the mainstream would think if someone were to tell them that the Republican Party intends to cause a recession, on purpose, unless Democrats drastically cut Medicare and other popular domestic programs.
Basic American patriotism — wanting what’s best for your country — would seemingly prevent such thuggish tactics. And yet, here we are.
