OOOOOOOOh! That’s me! I love it!. It’s cool to get a look behind the scenes. Thanks, Chipsticks! Seriously, it’s nice that there is often a lot of laughter and camaraderie around the First Ladies (and the First Gentlemen) even though they deal with a lot of serious stuff.
Here is a nice story from Joplin’s hometown paper about the Prez’s visit…an excerpt
Carpenter, who lost his home to the tornado, said the thing that impressed him about Obama’s visit to the 2300 block of South Kentucky Avenue was the way he did it.
“He walked,” he said. “He didn’t drive by and look at it from a vehicle. He walked all the way down this street.’’
THAT’S BEAUTIFUL…I HAVE ANOTHER MIRACLE FROM THE TORNADO…A MEMBER IN OUR CHURCH REC’D A LONG AWAITED LIVER TRANSPLANT…IT WAS FROM A TORNADO VICTIM. WE CANNOT ANSWER THE QUESTIONS TO THE REASON FOR TRAGEDY…BUT…I HAVE ALWAYS BELIEVED THAT OUT OF EACH TRAGEDY THERE ARE GLIMMERS OF HOPE…THERE IS LIGHT AND GOD IS IN CONTROL.
It would be so nice when people finally begin to see PBO for who he is. We already know how regular he is, others seem surprised. I remember a photo posted here once last year where PBO was on location at a job site, and in between either going or coming, looked down the street and waved to all the onlookers. I thought it the most ordinary thing to do….like waving a distance to your neighbors. Americans, WAKE UP! This is as good as it gets 😀
This Memorial Day, First Lady Michelle Obama and I are asking our fellow citizens to honor the brave men and women who have served and sacrificed so much for our country by supporting our military families and veterans.
Our military families are true American heroes: they are parents who raise their kids alone while their spouse is deployed overseas, they are the grandparents who provide much needed support, and they are military kids who work hard in school while bravely awaiting their mom or dad’s return from deployment. They serve our country bravely and without asking for recognition for their sacrifices.
That’s why the First Lady and I started Joining Forces, a national initiative to recognize, honor and support our military families.
As a military mom, I know that a simple act of kindness can make a difference in the lives of our military families and veterans. Whether you offer to babysit or carpool, or just take a moment to say thank you, everyone can do something to support our service members and their families.
We are working with employers, with communities, with faith leaders, with schools and so many others. We can all join forces.
At JoiningForces.gov you’ll find lots of ways to get involved. You can find service opportunities in your area, send a message of support to military families, or tell us your own story of service:
As a lot of you know, my 85 year old mother broke her hip a few months ago. Things are good now, but it was hell. My father, a WW@ vet learned fron the hospital SW that he could get financial aid through the VA to help cover my mother’s expenses. He applied for the funds the other day, will probably be approved, and is aware of and very appreciative that Mrs Obama and Dr Biden started the ball rolling to help military families. Their initial efforts focussed on recently discharged vets, but the program tricked down to the older veterans as well.
I’m glad things are good now gc and I pray that they will continue to get better 🙂
I wish the MSM would promote such outstanding efforts. Not everyone is Internet savvy or knows about funds and laws that pertain to them. The Obama administration is doing their absolute best to spread such good news, but if the MSM doesn’t play their part, it’s more of an uphill battle.
Thanks! It was a surprise to me that my totally preoccupied father was aware of the origins of these measures. I believe Seniors learn what they need to. They will/are powerful allies in efforts to destroy Medicare.
It is a blessing to have Mrs. Obama and Mrs. Biden doing all they can for the families of the militaries. I thank them both. I’m so proud of Michelle and Jill. I thank each and every one of our men and women, past and present who fought for our country, to keep us safe. Thank you all. And a big thank you to their families also. Thank you….Thank you….Thank you…
Today in Trinidad we also have a holiday: Indian Arrival Day.
Our country is a boiling pot of every body and I feel like I embody that because I’m mixed with Indian, African, French, Spanish, Irish, Scottish and Carib(Indigenous peoples).
Aww,, That was so cute. I would also say Elmo has a nice BIG crush on our First Lady but it was cute. They did really good. I love the behind the scene photos and videos. To me they are some of the best. I also think it’s safe to say that FLOTUS likes to dance.

Just received this email from Dr. Jill Biden:
This Memorial Day, First Lady Michelle Obama and I are asking our fellow citizens to honor the brave men and women who have served and sacrificed so much for our country by supporting our military families and veterans.
Will you join me in sending a note of thanks to our military families? You can submit your message on JoiningForces.gov OR http://www.whitehouse.gov/joiningforces/message?utm_source=email116&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=memorialday

Precious, Elmo is in love, all I can say Elmo – SEAL Team 6. FLOTUS seem to love Sesame street, isn’t this like her third visit? L
I really like watching the sesame street video, with Dr. Biden and Mrs. Obama.
Yesterday FLOTUS went to visit the wounded soldiers and their families at Walter Reid’s Hospital. That was so nice of her.
