night everyone

Columbus, Ohio, Oct 17, 2010. (Official White House Photo by Pete Souza)

Why have I posted this 2010 photo? Hey, because I love it!

****

Just to clarify, the ‘please donate’ image on the top right of the sidebar is a link to this blog’s fundraising drive at BarackObama.com – any money donated goes to the official Obama/Biden 2012 campaign, not to this blog! I will never ever ever seek or accept donations – and that’s an absolute promise.

****

While I’m asleep (which is most of the time!) lots of you have your comments parked in ‘pending’. That’s a pain in the butt for you, especially when you’re trying to take part in a ‘live’ discussion, but unless you register with WordPress the blog will always, automatically, detect you as a first-time visitor, and, so, will dump you in ‘pending’ – so that I can figure out if you’re a Teabagger, Professional Leftie, or someone with a brain. ๐Ÿ˜‰

So, to avoid the ‘pending’ fate, register an account with WordPress.

****

Thanks everyone, see you tomorrow.

    Night, Dear Woman…love you.

For my part, there is no difference between Professional Leftie and Teabagger. Sorry you have to ever see any of that filth.

    You’re a blessing.

Good night Chipsticks….just sent a note of thanks and appreciation to our remarkable POTUS and FLOTUS. As I often do, I gave you a shout out in my message, telling them of the wonderful work you do and the supportive community you have inspired. I believe someday your paths will cross.

Tien Le….I agree, extreme is extreme no matter which direction it comes from.

    Phew, it wasn’t me, cause I’m still here! I am, aren’t I? ๐Ÿ˜›

Chipsticks, Funny you should be talking about fundraising right after I shared a fundraising idea ‘God gave me’ [like he speaks to some on the right] in the previous thread.

Merci mille fois, for your labour of love in this home place!

To Chipsticks and all TOD-ers, ‘Good night, sleep tight, and have a good rest! No use trying to solve problems when you should be sleeping.

Thank you so much, Chipsticks, for keeping this place free of hate. I wish there was some magic ability to love the pain and disturbance out of the souls of the haters, so they could just take joy where joy is – instead of spewing out ugliness to try to tarnish others.

I will also ditto the well wishes for you to have a good night, and THANK YOU for such a great week of information on PBO and MO. I am so glad to be amongst a group of people that are unabashed in their love, admiration and support of our phenomenal president and not have to wade through the bile and venom of the back biters.

I will add my prayers for you to keep having the strength of will to continue your labor of love in maintaining this blog/site.

    Thank you so much Chip…

From one who’s had a really queasy feeling about some posters no matter how hard they tried to couch their true motives…

My friends and family who visit this site had started to notice too and I even found myself scouring the comments section before re-posting on my facebook page. We all have to be careful about what is put out there – I am loathe to give any credence or weight to any of the lies peddled by those who do not wish our President and his family well…

We’ve all had awfully familiar examples of this very insidious trolling…

They are getting very wily and clever and do a pretty good job of pretending to share your enthusiasm and general embrace of the subject of the the blog and leave many an unsuspecting participant very confused with their duplicitous behavior…

But because some of us have experienced them on other internet sites, we spot them instantly and try as they may, they can’t fool us…

They are also now troll calling radio stations pretending to be disgruntled ex-supporters of President Obama. They especially like calling into shows hosted by members of the Professional Left as they delight in the bashing of Presdient Obama…

The most telling sign that they are right wing trolls: They *always* call it the ‘Democrat’ party…

That’s the hallmark of thse who get their news from right wing radio…

    The ‘Democrat’ party…

    Good Morning!
So happy our President comes home today. I am so proud of all that he was able to do. Everyone stay safe this memorial day weekend. Thank you all for supporting this site and our president.

Yes, it will be great to finally get a good night’s sleep! ๐Ÿ™‚ Seriously, though, it will be good to have the President back on familiar territory. The Secret Service has been extra vigilant in Poland, which has been curious. Even during the arrival ceremony today and wreath laying ceremony yesterday, they were scrambling to keep as close to the President as possible. I love seeing their dedication, but when they step up the vigilance, it is a little unsettling.

On another note, I wish the White House would show live feeds of all his events. This searching for live footage is really frustrating. There wasn’t a shred of coverage of the events today on US media – very frustrating. The White House only had audio coverage, and really only played about 10 minutes of the democracy discussion. It would be nice to have guaranteed and reliable coverage for the next trip.

Oh well – I wish them all a safe trip home!

Hey holmoly. Welcome to this wonderful home away from home. We’re all happy and stoked to have you here.
I think you just have to go to http://www.wordpress.com to register an account or you can look the tab at the top of the TOD webpage that says “how to post a comment.” If this doesn’t help you.. then in the tab that says “contact me” you can contact Chipsticks privately and she’ll help you. Once again, welcome. ๐Ÿ™‚

I love the picture too, because it reminds me that yes this is the President of the United States, and his time has to go so many places, but he also is a husband and a father and they need some of his time too. i love the picture, like I do all the one with him and his precious family. And Chipsticks I agree with everything the rest says about what you do. It is greatly appreciated.

I’ve been watching some live coverage of the President in Poland early this morning at http://wwitv.com/tv_channels/b3979.htm. There were quite a lot of people lined up to see his motorcade to take pictures and wave from his Marriott hotel to the palace—when he first landed no one was hardly outside. After he did the events of yesterday, I’m sure people saw this on TV and they felt more of a connection and came out this morning. Also, I’m not understanding what commentators were saying but this country as well as so many others are fascinated by the SS, the number of cars in the motorcade, and “The Beast”. A lot of countries feel slighted when a US President does not visit them and it means a lot to people when he comes to make a special trip and stays overnight. I hope in President Obama’s 2nd term he can do more overseas travelling. You never know when you need international cooperation on a matter. Building these relationships are very important.

Kind of funny Chips as you stated not wanting to ban anyone just last night and then needing to ban 2 people today! Oh man, life sure keeps us guessing. Thank you again Chipsticks for all you do. I think we will all be standing up a little straighter around here on our best behavior surely hoping not to be banned! No doubt I am joking, but gosh what ever would we do without TOD? Interesting info above from Chi. Let’s all be on watch! We’ve got your back Chipsticks. Know that we support you fully. Carry on with what you do of creating this wonderful place and space to share.

Good Morning! Chipsticks, thank you for a wonderful week of photos and comments on the President’s trip – I don’t know when this man sleeps. He has a full schedule but you can tell he’s not sleepwalking through his duties and activities – he is fully engaged. So nice to see a photo of quiet contemplation with his lovely wife. Thanks again, Chips, for all you do. This site is truly a labor of love for you and it shows! I am happy to be a part of it and join other TODers in wishing you well.

I NEVER STAY UP LATE ENOUGH TO SAY ‘GOODNIGHT’…TEE-HEE…ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ…JUST WATCHED VP’JOE’ AND HIS SATURDAY MORNING ADDRESS RE: CHRYSLER REPAYING ITS LOAN AND THE SUCCESS IN THE AUTO INDUSTRY! IF PRESIDENT OBAMA HAD NOT DONE WHAT HE DID WHEN HE DID THESE VECHICLE MANUFACTURERS WOULD BE IN THE SOUP TODAY! THAT WAS ONE OF THE GREATEST MOVES IN OUR ECONOMIC HISTORY. AND OF COURSE HE SPOKE ABOUT THIS MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND…A SPECIAL TIME TO HOLD OUR BRAVE MILITARY MEN AND WOMEN CLOSE TO OUR HEARTS. THIS WE NEED TO BE DOING ALL THE TIME…THERE ARE MANY OPPORTUNITIES TO ANSWER THE NEEDS OF OUR MILITARY FAMILIES VIA THE FIRST LADY AND DR. JILL BIDEN…BOTH DEEPLY DEDICATED TO THE CAUSE. I REMEMBER CLEARLY THE VIETNAM DAYS WHEN MY HUSBAND WAS IN THE WAR AND WE HAD ABSOLUTELY NO ‘AT HOME’ SUPPORT. THANK GOD…THIS HAS CHANGED…THANK YOU OBAMAS AND BIDENS FOR MAKING THIS A PRIORITY. I WOULD NEVER WANT ANOTHER MILITARY FAMILY TO LIVE THROUGH THE THINGS WE HAD TO IN OUR DAY!

Good morning everyone. Chipsticks, I agree with all the past comments. You are a national treasure! You are helping keep all of us sane in a crazy world of hate. To be able to come here and express our love for our wonderful POTUS and family without fear of being attached. You and BWD are my heros. We love you and if there is ever anything we can do for you, you just ask.
