night everyone

President Obama arrives for a dinner hosted by President Nicolas Sarkozy and his wife Carla Bruni-Sarkozy in Deauville

Hello people, before I say a hearty goodnight, just a word – or several!

Since this blog started up, I’ve only ‘banned’ a single person – if you don’t count the troubled teabagger and professional leftie visitors who automatically end up in the junk folder, along with all those nice people trying to promote willy-growth products. There’s a link there, but I’ll behave.

Other than teabaggers, professional lefties and willy-growth promoters, I don’t want to ban anyone, I never, ever dreamt of being a ‘mod’ when I was growing up. Honest. The person in question, though, launched one too many attacks on fellow visitors to this blog, before sending me a parting message that focused largely on the hue of the President’s skin. Strange.

As you all know, this blog is proudly pro-President Obama – as I always say, there are countless other sites to visit if you want to spew bile all over him, or his supporters. But this place is designed to be a refuge from all that hate, and will always remain so.

All I ask is that people who comment here show respect for each other – and almost everyone of you does. But, please, no more “lighten up” comments (deleted) in response to sincere people who express from-the-heart opinions about an issue, just respectfully argue things out without abusing each other. Please?

Much as I hate doing it, I will ban people who bring hostility and nastiness to this place. I almost dished out a second ban today, but took a deep breath – we’ll see. Remember, this is a hate-free zone ๐Ÿ˜‰

Thanks everyone, see you tomorrow.

Goodnight everyone and thanks Chipsticks for making this a wonderful place to come to show love and gratitude to our President! You are the best and anyone that you deem that needs banning is probably more than deserving so don’t feel bad! We are so glad you keep the trolls and haters away! I might not always comment but I love this blog and visit it several times a day even when I should be working :). Again thank you and what a nice way to call it a night with that handsome and fine 44 walking the walk!!!!

      Hear, hear!!

I have had my fill of all of the other sites that the articles and (especially) the comments are filled with bile and irrational negativity. I am extremely happy to found this haven that the underlying view is one of support and admiration of PBO.

I for one I appreciate it. Thanks so much Chipsticks for your efforts in bringing this place to fruition and support your efforts to keep it that way.

Yes, this is a hate free zone and needs to remain so–I admit, I go to other sites and do my fair share of hacking away at people who bash our administraton and spread just plain old lies. Here is an oasis in the middle of the political wildfire, where people who admire and respect the presidency and the President and First Lady (Patriots in other words)can come for a shared experience. I firmly believe history will treat President Obama very well. He is a fine man and has a fine women by his side. God bless them both. Stand your ground Chipsticks–you do good work!

        Dear Chip…

Thank you so much for giving so generously and so completely of yourself and your time to create this wonderful, invaluable and safe place where we who fiercely support, respect, love and adore our spectacular and all around amazing President, come to share, vent, rejuvenate and celebrate…

You are a rare and precious gem and I’m so glad to claim you as my friend, fellow warrior but most importantly, my sister who saved me from literally going over the edge and continues still, to maturely and with a steady hand time and again, gently pull me and others here when we stray dangerously close to that edge again…

Forgive me if I periodically shift from calm, nice devout Catholic girl to fiery, forceful and unforgiving…

        Thank you dear friend…

Thank you Chipsticks for making this a snark-free, hate-free place for us to meet and talk. I can’t imagine how much trouble, and oftentimes stress it is, for you to keep it as wonderful as it is.

    • May 27, 2011 at 12:03 am

Thank you Joan. Honestly, it’s not much trouble at all, I’m just keeping an extra vigilant eye on the snark, I saw too much of that at suppposedly Dem-supporting sites I left! Thanks again Joan, always appreciate your wisdom ๐Ÿ˜‰

Goodnight, Chipsticks. I concur with your statement to us. I will pray that we will respect ourselves so that we will always respect this beautiful space for us here. So sleep well and thank you so very much Chipsticks for this truly beautiful space. I hope that I am here for a long time. I like that quote that Oprah shared with us this week during her show where she mentioned that a viewer stated to her: here goes: ” Please take responsibility for the energy you bring into this space.” I take that as “space” my home, my car, my life etc. Thanks again as always, Chipsticks. You are so beautiful to us.

Thanks for your work, generosity and protection. This place of refuge is the only site where I feel safe and welcomed.

Well, another good day draws to a close, and although I haven’t been saying much I’ve been popping in and out. While I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Moneygall, England, and now France, I confess I’ve had a hard time keeping up with jetting from one place to another, reading the comments of my fellow travellers, AND commenting myself. Not to mention the added strain of looking for ‘todders’. ๐Ÿ˜‰ My diagnosis of my difficulty is jet lag, so I’ll be very happy when this trip is over and the President is safely back at home. To Chipsticks and ALL TOD-ers, familiar (notice I didn’t say ‘old’) and new – ‘Good night, sleep tight and rest well! Tomorrow is another day.’ [Wow! I’m sharp, ain’t I?].

Thank you, Ms. Chips for facilitating a community were we can all get together and share in on the love and defense of PBO. I know you often demure when we mention how much we all appreciate your hard work. But I-we- know that finding the info and making it available to us (those in the USA and abroad)- can be time consuming hard work, along with maintaining this site, especially in light of the fact that you do have a life outside of this. Please, please accept our humblest gratitude and appreciation. Please sleep well and we’ll see you all bright eyed and bushy-tailed tomorrow, much love and peace, ๐Ÿ˜†

I don’t get around to many other sites because I feel like I get quite a bit of info here reading the articles and comments (they are sure to make me smile and chuckle/especially when the ladies get caught up in their “love” for the Prez [smile]) and looking at the clips…my friends think I am the “bomb” because I am so informed! Thanks Chipsticks!!!!!!!

Chipsticks what did I say? Just kidding. I do my best to respect everyone even if I disagree with them and most of the time I don’t. I really appreciate this site, because I do get tired of the other ones which is fill with such hate and dislike for this President and his family. I am proud to be a member of this family. I don’t worship this President, or First Lady because I know they are just human beings like us all. But I respect them, I like them, I’m proud of the job they are doing. I hope people who are not my color understand were I’m coming from when I speak with such pride. America history has not always been the best to black Americans. Anyway thank you Chipsticks for all you do. God Bless.

    Good morning Chipsticks!
Over the weekend, I hope to catch up on what has been happening here. But I just read your main message in this post. I thank you profusely for keeping this site a pleasant place to discuss and admire our wonderful POTUS and family. I’m sorry to hear that there has been drama here recently. As PBO says: ‘we can disagree without being disagreeable’ Unfortunately, I think there are some that just enjoy stirring things up. Maybe it’s their way of having their 15 minutes of fame. (SMH)

btw, I really popped in to see if the site was still back to normal view for me. It is! I see the title and PBO smiling and adjusting his collar. ๐Ÿ™‚ I have to get ready for work now. I’m really looking forward to the long holiday weekend! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I used to read Democratic Underground (in fact, that’s where I found a link to your site), but it’s been taken over by the haters — not just haters of President Obama, but haters of everything! So negative. I never go there anymore.

I visit this site several times a day; I am ASTONISHED by the amount of content you post here. I saw the evening news this week and they mentioned President Obama addressed a joint session of Parliment but I think the segment was about 10 seconds long. I know I can come here and find the entire speech, photos and commentary. What a wonderful service you provide.

I also listen to Randi Rhodes on the radio every day. She is an unwavering supporter of the President, funny, and intelligent. Between the two of you, I feel I am very informed!

Lastly, let me say I had no idea, before becoming a regular reader of this blog a couple of months ago, what a fabulous dresser Michelle Obama is. That may sound trivial in the scope of world events, but she represents us all so well and looks like a million bucks doing it — even wearing a Gap sweater and a skirt!

Ms. Chips, you’re got a big fan here in Texas!

Chipsticks, thank you for keeping this a respectful place. I also go to many other sites, I like to gather as much informationas I can. But I get so discouraged with the hate out there. That there is so much disrespect for the President and those of us who love him. It is so wonderful to come here and feel free to talk, laugh and joke and know that we all feel the same. Thank you. For doing this for us!

I too want to thank you Chipsticks for creating this hate free zone. Like so many that come here to get our daily all things Obama, it keeps us energized and a safe place away from all the negativity. It is your creation so you can ban those that do not believe in your vision for this site.

I like coming here because of the excellent work done by you, Chipsticks, and to interact with people who support our President. I haven’t read all of the comments so thank goodness I’ve missed any bickering that may have occurred. I enjoy the positive comments I have read. It’s so pleasant to visit a site where people support our very special, once in a lifetime leader. I am proud of him and his family and have nothing but respect for the way President Obama has lead this country forward. I hope that others who post here feel the same way.

Good morning Chipsticks. Thanks for your commentary. I myself am Pro-Obama, this is why I recommend your site to my friends and families and why it is mandatory that I visit each day and serveral times throughout the day too. I love the pictures, videos, commentaries and comments by visitors.

I have visited some sites and I actually feel dirty after looking at some rather nasty comments and stories about the President and his family.

Keep up the good work you do and go right ahead and ban any person you feel deserves it, because I know you will not be making that decision lightly.

Here I am, dragging my tail, late….LOL. Chipsticks, I know you know how much we supporters all agree that you’ve created a sanctuary, but I am so pleased to read all of the grateful comments here today, some from folks I’ve never seen here before. I am simply elated that so many people actually “lurk” for a while before commenting. It shows just how much people are tired of all of the unmerited hate and bashing PBO has received. He is by far the best President in my lifetime, and I am nearing 60 (ooh, that hurt :-D). It makes me more inclined to recommend this site for everyone I know who supports PBO, to gather the abundance of news that doesn’t make the chatter boxes known as TV. Thanks to you, Chips, and thanks to all who post here. Love you guys ๐Ÿ˜€

Another heartfelt thank you, Chipsticks, for what you do by maintaining this site. Also, thank you for combing through other places and putting the best articles and pictures here. Like many others, this is the first place I check in the morning, and the last place I check at night. Guess I went to bed early last night, as I missed the bad stuff.
I have so enjoyed this week with you and everyone else, watching the President and Mrs. O in Ireland, England, and now France. It has been a very satisfying time. I am just so inexpressibly proud of our President! I remember his 2004 speech at the Democratic convention…my husband walked by the TV, heard a bit, and said “Who is that man saying what I believe? I’ve never heard anyone say that before!” From that moment on we followed him, went to see him in 2007 when he came to OKC, and continue to admire his consistency and courage. Our country owes him a lot.

Chips, thanks for sharing a little bit you what you have to consider while maintaining this site. I know it is hard for all of us to be positive all of the time, but I think the fact that this site is mainly a positive and supportive community is what makes it so fun and such a draw for so many of us. My thoughts are if a visitor wants to be negative than they are welcome to go elsewhere since there are ample places around where negativity is the rule and not the exception. This place is different. I could not be happier to be in TOD club. I may not be the most articulate or the most knowledgable about politics, but I learn a little more each time I visit. Sometimes I think about this site and about you Chipsticks. When you began all of this you had no idea of what was ahead for PBO, you had no idea of how many followers would eventually join you and I’m sure you had no idea of how important this place would become for so many. This is our safe haven and we have you entirely to thank for that Chipsticks. If you feel the site is veering off course from your intention then I can only send you my respect as you take hold of the wheel to steady it once again. I love you Chipsticks. Now let’s all try to be the best we can be as we watch and celebrate this time with President Barack H. Obama!

Hiya M, thank you so much! Just to clarify, because I don’t want to give the impression that things here have turned ugly – they haven’t, at all! – I was only referring to a few comments I’ve had to delete in the last week or so. No one enjoys a good political argument more than me, and I love reading the back and forth between you all when you disagree on a particular issue, but no one comes here to be abused or ridiculed for holding a particular opinion! So, that kind of stuff will always be deleted. Thanks M.

Brother Chipsticks, I imagine your job as list moderator often appears tedious and thank less job, of course unless you create and happen to establish such a positive Bloglist and informative pro-civility, Pro-President Barack Obama (of the Moneygall O’Bamas 8^)Blog. The Tea Party-GOP have numerous Anti-POTUS and FLOTUS rants going 24/7- and their toxic hatred of anything they don’t agree with isn’t really in keeping with your theme of being for the basic good of the Nation. I agree with you that any blogs that appear to be seditious and/or racially tinged or just plain rude, crude and ugly examples of who and what the Blog authors mental state or condition may be, (As they’re in the Blogger’s very own words it’ll provide a very valuable hint into who they are, or if it may be emanating from an unstable or quite possibly a seriously unhinged person in desperate need mental health intervention and care) should be excised or denied their posting (IMHO) So Brother Chipsticks, thank you! You’ve truly created a great service for all of us “I Love Obama” types.
I truly believe that History will recognize President Obama because, despite his quiet unassuming manner and joyful demeanor, its his decisiveness and bravery and decency and real and honest care for all humanity that distinguish his great Presidency. And he is a warm caring person not given to acts of false bravado or rancorous braggadocio. He just simply and quietly TCB.(Takes Care of Business)
And Brother Chipsticks: your simple and concise directives are wonderful pearls of wisdom it would behoove all those who wish to have their entries posted read and honor them….OBAMA IN 2012!

Add me as another loyal fan of TOD. Your blog is the ‘go to’ at the end of a long hard day, first thing in the morning for a quick ‘yes we can’ boost, and occasionally during the day when the hatemongers seem omnipresent. Thank you Chipsticks. Your time and effort is much appreciated. Sometimes I wonder if I have just imagined that Pres Obama is as wonderful as I think he is, then I check in and, sure enough, there he goes again, being wonderful, better than I could have imagined – an absolutely outstanding role model for anyone. I didn’t imagine it at all. Huge smile!

And, I’d like to add some love and respect to the Secret Service who protect Pres Obama (& family). Love the look on the face of the gentleman on the left, truly a ‘don’t mess with me’ look. Has there been any more info on the situation? – hard to understand why the French would attempt to block Pres Obama’s SS detail.
