Huh—-that’s strange. The reporting was that Carla Bruni was hosting an event for all the wives, including Michelle, and then all the leaders and their wives were attending a fancy din hosted by the Sarcozys. Gee, I wonder how the news media could have been so wrong. They never are. 🙂

Good morning Chipsticks and my TOD family –

I love this quote from one of the TOD bloggers after President Obama’s UK Parliament speech: As he is almost out of the building (after shaking hands with everybody and I mean EVERYBODY), a lady says “Sir do we have to say goodbye to you?”

Truly, there’s no one like him in temperament, character, brains, and personality. He is a President other countries can only dream of.

Thanks Chipsticks for all the updates. My day starts and ends on this blog. Thank you! Thank you!

Well I admit I am alittle disappionted, but maybe she wants to come home to the girls. The trip to Ireland and London was wonderful. Unforgetable as Nat King Cole would say or sing. Even with the rain and wind. I pray the President will have a safe trip to France and Poland, then back to the U.S. And I pray the First Lady will have a safe trip back to D.C. I know Malia and Sasha will be happy to see her, and she see them.

I concur anniebella. I am a little disappointed that she is not going to be in France and Poland b/c I would love to bask in the awe of both Obamas …. but I guess we’ll just have to plough on with only PBO 😉

Chipsticks, you should really think about getting a few ads on your site! Compensation for all your hard work can’t hurt!

OT: my tw cents on Bill Clinton… He was or is the only Democratic President to hold two terms (as Hillary Clinton famously noted during her campaign for President). He would no longer be able to hold this record hence this sabotage!

That’s my feeling and I am sticking to it!

Good morning Chips and TOD family. Are we ready for another day. This has been one of those exhausting, exhilorating weeks. I love it but I am tired. Also my prayers to all the people where the storms and the floods are.

I know how you feel – I’m barely functioning at this moment. Thank heavens it’s a light week at work. Since the first all nighter, I’ve missed all the live events except the ones around noon, so I’ve stayed up late catching up with all the pictures and posts (and writing responses that noone sees because they’ve all moved on…) and then set my alarm to wake up, only to miss everything. Oh well, adds to the excitement! I can only imagine how exhausted the President is, since he’s doing all the work and also keeping up with all the shenanigans and events back home. Whew!

Good morning Chipsticks and TOD family. Big Obama bounce in Florida:

Democrats’ fortunes have improved significantly in the last month in the key battleground state of Florida, according to a new Quinnipiac University poll that shows that more voters now believe President Obama and Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Fla., deserve to be re-elected.

Obama’s approval rating has risen to 51 percent, up from 44 percent in early April. His approval rating among independents is up eight points. Just 43 percent of Sunshine State voters disapprove of Obama, down nine points from early April.

Half of voters say that Obama deserves to be re-elected, while 44 percent believe he does not. In early April, a 51 percent majority believed Obama did not deserve to be re-elected.

We can thank the backlash to the most horrific Repub governor, Rick Scott, for some of those improving Obama poll numbers there. Scott’s numbers have tanked into the cellar as Floridians have been shocked by all the extreme right wing damage he and the Repub legislature have brought to their state. But what did they expect, voting for a Medicare crook to lead their state? How did they justify that vote? Hatred trumped common sense? The overreaching of these new Repub governors will prove to be a great gift to Democrats in 2012.

Morning TOD family, thanks Proud for that great news, Gov. Rick Scott has approval 29 and disapproval 57. Marco Rubio just voted with senate Repukes to end Medicare, I can see 2012 from my house.

Michelle looks slightly tired. Maybe she just wants to get home to her girls and mom and get some r-e-s-t. She well deserves it — she’s under the microscope even more than her husband sometimes. She did us all so proud the last few days — so charming, so lovely, so smart. May she have safe passage back to the states.

Have a great day, everyone :-D!

    From the Guardian:
What of her own daily life, asked one student. On Tuesday night she had slept at Buckingham Palace, she said. “On Friday I’ll go home to go to soccer and go over homework.”

I don’t know if this solves the mystery

Awwwww, PBO going it alone 😦 Miche, I’m gonna miss you, but I guess the girls miss you even more. You’re probably so exhausted.
ps-I guess her plane is gonna pick her up soon.
pps- I love how she’s holding hands with the ambassador.
ppps-When I first saw the photos, I thought she was staying back at the Queen’s request, wouldn’t that have been awesome?

Morning guys. Awwww I’m with the lady that asked if they had to go!! It was great to have em here and hopefully we’ll see them (whole family) again soon. I like that touchy feely pic with the Ambassador – great relationship there.
Hope the Prez has fruitful meetings at the G8 and Poland and that FLOTUS has a safe flight home to the girls and Grandma Robinson.

That statement about going home to soccer and going over homework shows how firmly grounded she is. All of these experiences do not go to her head. She knows what her values are. I treasure that in her. Yes, she does look somewhat tired…wow, I sure would be! Being hostess for a dinner for the Queen of England is no task to be taken lightly, and that came after the whirlwind time. I am glad the embassy has a wonderful staff for her, but I know she was involved with every detail. That’s the way she is. I too liked the picture of her with the ambassador. People who know them, just love the Obamas.

The Obama’s have done you guys proud. The buzz over here has been electric. They’ve both been polished, poised, professional, inspiring, humble and genuinely sincere. I truly think the Queen loves them because I haven’t seen her and Prince Philip smile so much in a long time. I was touched when the President pulled out the chair for the Queen, everyone has been saying that he is a true gent and raised so well, especially since I have never seen her own son do the same for her. I’m just depressed that Mrs Obam is returning to Washington. I’ve loved looking at her clothes and seeing her genuine warmth radiate wherever she goes.

I was about to say that the picture of Michelle sitting in that car it looks like she misses her honey already. When she was talking to the young girls in London and someone asked her what she thought of Barack Obama when she first met him? I just love the way she answer that.

Good Morning Chipsticks and Family here. I am just beginning to move about and had to stop to my favorite place. I also think that our First Lady will miss her honey, but I am sure they will be phoning each other. Happiness for Sasha, Malia, Grandmother and ofcourse Bo will be in the air. I love that about our First Family, they put everything in the proper places. I am sure Valert will remain there with the President, so FLOTUS knows that she will make sure POTUS will rest as well. I pray our beautiful FLOTUS to have a safe trip home.

Michelle Obama looks tired, but the President looks pretty sprightly. He really is the “energizer bunny”. I can’t imagine facing the importnat talks coming in both France and Poland – two more big dinners, plus monitoring everything going on in the States and the backstabbing ways of Bill Clinton, Netanyahoo, Congress, the media and some Democrats.

I am projecting, but looking at Michelle I wondered if she has a migraine headache…she looks tired and to me like her head hurts. She is beautiful, but looks to me like she would rather be somewhere dark, comfortable and quiet. I hope I am wrong. The girls and Mom will be happy to have her back home, imagine the stories she has to tell. Godspeed Michelle, you are a blessing and a gift to America and the world.

To me Michelle doesn’t look all that tired, but these last few days has been something else and you can’t blame her if she was tired. Do anyone know what time she suppose to arrive back in D.C.?

Awwwww they look like they miss each other already 😦 . I feel so sorry for them that they have to sacrifice being together because of Mr. Obama’s commitment to his position and Mrs. Obama commitment to her girls. It must be hard especially for PBO after a hard days work there is nothing like relaxing with wifey and kids 😦 . I also love the pic of Michelle holding hands with the ambassador…how sweet!
