Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson are everywhere with the Obamas; the state dinner, the address to parliament and they are also guests at the dinner for the Queen hosted by B and M. What is the relationship between the two couples?

Tom Hanks made at least one video supporting the President during the primaries or the election itself (can’t remember) He – has been on Morning Joe at least once standing his ground quite thoroughly in support of POTUS.. they have a shared love for space.. I know that about each of them, so I would think that may well be a draw to a friendship that has bloomed?? I just know Tom Hanks is like us, a supporter of a great man trying to do good.

Hahaha others have asked the same. Let me explain. Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson are HUGE Obama supporters. Tom came out big for the Obamas during the 2008 election. He put his money and time into action. He made PSA’s endorsing PBO. When he made his latest movie about one of our past wars.. he and Steven Spielberg (another HUGE Obama supporter) premiered the movie at the White House first b/c they knew that PBO love Band of Brothers. A few months ago Tom was on Morning Joe and that idiot Joe Scarborough asked Tom if he was disappointed with PBO’s presidency so far and Tom came back with a STRONG, FIRM and VIGOROUS defense of PBO. He talked about financial and credit card reform, healthcare reform, renewal of CHIP, bailing out of the auto companies, the stimulus and many more. Joe, not satisfied b/c Tom didn’t bash PBO asked Tom if he was angry that PBO wanted to return tax rates for the wealthy back to the Clinton levels. Tom replied saying that is he supposed to whine b/c he is being asked to contribute his fair share? That the middle and working class have been shouldering too much of the burden. Then Joe was like don’t you like tax cuts?… Tom replied saying am I supposed to be happy that I’m getting a tax break I don’t need when others are suffering?

I believe PBO has been paying attention to Tom Hanks and wanted to reward him with some special privileges. After all we need all the friends we can get especially as 2012 approaches to spread the word about the MAGNIFICENT job PBO has been doing since inauguration day. 🙂

He loves our president as much as we do. He has not turned his back on Obama like so many other stars have done. I loves me my tom and rita.

      It was a stunning speech.

Is anyone else made at the dems for turning their backs on Obama when Bibi was hear. He got more standing ovations than Obama at his last state of the union. I am angry. Pelosi and Reed can suck it. They clapped as Bibi diminished PBO.

Oh yeah I saw that. Harry Reid the Majority Leader of the Senate and a Dem whom PBO fought hard for when he was in danger of losing his seat to that crazy, off the wall looney bin Sharon Angle said that no leader should ever tell Israel that there have to be pre-conditions such as the 1967 borders before Israel and Palestine meet at the table. Then this Senator or Rep Andrews a Dem from New Jersey said that in both his speeches PBO was tilting towards support of Hamas.

I almost lost my damn mind when I read that. Hamas is a terrorist organization. For a DEMOCRAT to imply; no to more than imply that PBO is endorsing Hamas is one of the worst insults ever leveled at a President. It is comparative to when Failin Palin said that PBO was paling around with terrorists during the 2008 campaign. PBO has consistently rebuked and condemned Hamas in the harshest of terms and has said that the Israelis cannot be expected to come to the negotiaiting table when Palestine has allied themselves with Hamas: an organization that refuses to recognize Israel’s right to exist. Dems have got to grow a freakin spine or those that spout untruths and utter vile lies will be swiftly removed from their seats.

Seriously? Reid said this? If so, I will write to both he and to the DNC- to Debbie.. because that is NOT gonna fly from this long long time Democrat.

Is some of this political theater and cover? I find it hard to believe that either Reid or Pelosi would undermind President Obama. I am wondering out loud…..this makes little sense to me.

It is such a privilege to be seeing in real-time this greatest of statesmen. Everything about that speech was in service to a vision of peace, justice and abundance for all people. As a nation, I don’t think we truly understand what a remarkable leader we have. Some, like myself, have loved and appreciated him like a Hollywood celebrity, and that’s fun and sweet. But to absorb his vision for the future of the world, to appreciate his grasp of the complexities of this century, to heed his call to shape our common destiny, that’s a deeper and more complete consideration altogether of Barack Obama. I’m there. I’m right there (sniff).

Our President is a true Statesman. What can I say? He is the sum of all things. He has it all and I am fortunate to be alive to witness this. Noone alive can surpass his Greatness. I wish all Americans could see this.

Proud of our President. Let me speak from the heart. Our people have grown up in a society where we or my people were told and treated like we weren’t nothing. Less than human. Told that our woman are not lovely as the other women. So when I speak of such proud of this President and First Lady, yes it is partly because of our history. Never in my life time did I expect to see a black President. A black family in the White House. The proud is not only because of history, it’s also because we have a darn good President. And a First Lady who is pretty special too.
