I think I like this look on President Obama better than last night. The First Lady looks seriously chic – almost the opposite of her angelic look last night. Great choices on both counts! They must be thrilled to be through all the tough stuff, and I hope they can just relax and enjoy the evening. They’ve done really well!

My sentiments exactly Fred. My jaw DROPPED when I saw her come out. MSNBC showed a little bit of video and guys if you think her dress looks stunning on camera.. wait until the indomitable Chipsticks obtains the video. When I saw her I went into shock.. then I started yelling and screaming words like omg omg OMG!!!!!!! she’s freaking fantastic, gorgeous, marvellous, stunning, glorious, magnificent, lustrous, beauty and grace personified. So far on this trip she has knocked the fashion ball out of the court. This dress and last night’s state dinner dress and the red Alexander McQueen dress she wore to the Chinese State Dinner.. are iconic and people will be talking about them for decades to come as they talk about Jackie O.

By the way POTUS looks pretty dapper and HANDSOME too. He surely does hold his own next to FLOTUS and that is a mighty feat.

Hahaha sherijr. After I recovered from my mini shock. I was filled with the gift of prose 😉 I’ve heard from people in the media, people who have visited the White House and people who have attended town hall meetings that Michelle Obama is even more breathtaking in person. If she looks so gorgeous in these pictures.. imagine when she stepped out in her dress and POTUS and everyone saw her?….. Holy shipoopi and YOWZA! 😀

I suspect Mr. President gets pretty impressed by his beautiful wife quite frequently, there is no doubt that he is head over heels for her.. and she for him. Which makes them all the more loveable, doesn’t it.

Say it again, Fred. I totally l.o.v.e. the way Mrs President looks in this dress! I am the MOST fashion unaware female around, but the look of Mrs. O in this ‘little black number’ knocks yesterday’s white aside IMO. ‘You go, Girl!’ Just eye, and heart, warmingly b.e.a.u.t.i.f.u.l.!

It is amazing to see the reciprocally warm relationship between the Queen/Prince Phillip and POTUS/FLOTUS! When they had first met each other, a number of conservative critics scoffed at the idea that the Queen thought highly of the President and first lady. After this trip, I think we are safe in saying…How do you like them now!

An amazing all around trip, and I am liking how the royal family is treating the Obama’s like close personal friends they invited to come hand out for a couple of days.

Oh, it would be remiss of me to not comment on how absolutely wonderful the first lady looks in this evenings atire, WOW!

I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many photos of the Queen (and even the ever dour Phillip) smiling. I’m very curious just what attracted the Queen to the Obamas. It’s obviously genuine. I don’t think any other President has been invited to stay over at Buckingham Palace. The Prez mentioned in his speech last night that the Queen let the girls go on a carriage ride on the grounds in their last visit. The Queen also planted an organic veggie garden at the Palace after their last visit. They just seemed to have connected on a human level.

I heard that on Sky news right after PBO’s speech. the reporter was like ” oh, the guest list is very star studded and it’s a chance for the Queen to be hosted, but she never usually goes to these things.” Then a couple hours later someone said:” and the queen and prince will be the only royalty there and they will sign the guest book.” I think the Queen likes PBO and Miche alot. Do you think the Queen addresses them as Michelle and Barack? God, I’m swooning.

Huh.. and to dispell another myth: on Monday one of the knuckleheads punditing on the Irish media, she of the one who said our FLOTUS is 6’3″- also mistated the jewelry our First Lady wears.. such as she only wears one piece at a time, if theres a necklace, then no bracelet, and vice/versa. Well well well media: you.are.wrong.

I know its a small thing, but it is one more thing they get wrong with all their silly gossip and making stuff up. Our First Lady often wears jewelry.. mucho bracelets, fun necklaces, dangly earrings…large rings. She has amazing STYLE. (I make jewelry and study it – so I’m pretty aware of what folks are wearing). So there media inexperts.

FLOTUS has the most beautiful skin. This is always the first thing that draws my attention regarding her physical beauty.

The necklace is outrageous! Love it and how she looks in it. Very avant garde. She always has an unexpected twist or whimsy in her clothing and accessories. MO is redefining the role of First Lady in everything she does. I was so touched to learn that she stayed in contact with the young students that touched her so much when she visited in 2009 and that it was her suggestion that the girls have the field trip to Oxford. She is doing for them what she has done and is still doing for young people in our country. The Obamas are Real. They speak and act from a place of authenticity. We are in awe because this seldom happens with those who live public lives.

I would love to know the designer of this dress. Of all the dresses Michelle has worn, this is one of the most beautiful. It is especially flattering in the mid-section — dressing that area more perfectly than any other dress I’ve ever seen her wear.

    Gorgeous!

Me too PJ. The dress overall is fantastic. The shoulder/neck and midsection area shows us how flattering her figure is. I remember when she was on the View she said she has been hitting the gym twice daily – morning and night. All that hard work shows.

I like that she wowed the British and world audience with an American Designer Tom Ford. She showed that yep we Yanks can get it right. 🙂

I would not be surprised about that. The cut is just perfect and classy a la Lauren. I was just thinking about Oprah visiting Ralph Lauren’s ranch recently, featured on one of her final shows. And I know Oprah’s a close friend of Michelle. If Lauren is the designer, maybe it was Oprah’s good word which influenced the selection. Whomever the designer, great work! I like Michelle in more fitted styles, such as this, as opposed to full skirts. She has a fit and healthy shape to show off.

I know right?.. He’s been constantly nagging that FLOTUS hasn’t worn enough American designers and her look is too casual. He’s just miffed that she’s not pandering to him like Laura Bush did. He’s also miffed that she has worn clothes from his son’s lines which are more modern and fashion forward.

I think de la Renta makes absolutely beautiful clothes, but I don’t think they reflect Michelle in anyway.

They both look fierce. POTUS looks so fly and FLOTUS is lovely. What I really like is they are dressed to the nines and this is obviously an austere, super high class occasion yet the dork in both of them still comes out. The faces they are making at the media is priceless. I love these two dorks so dang much. I have no idea why media loves to insist that the president is cold and distant, I feel the warmth even from way across the Atlantic.

Me, too. I’m glad the last one was included – that was the first time we saw how fit her back was, and I think it was the first time she was dressed up after the inauguration. It was a shame that their long-awaited night out in New York was sullied by Republican nonsense, but I’m glad the NY crowds cheered them on.

I loved all the dresses, and had a hard time picking out my favorite, butI think the red dress was really stunning, and the first sparkly number for their first Governor’s ball was spectacular, plus the shimmering number for their first state dinner (the first picture)… ok – I like them all!

I know, right. I thought he would always be Mr. Darcy to me, but he was pretty excellent in the King’s Speech.

I love how the President’s and the First Lady’s facial expressions mirror each other in many of these photos. A true sign of how strong their bond is. God bless them both!

President Obama and the First Lady are absolutely stunning!!!!!!

As a citizen of this world I am so proud of them both.

I wonder what the four of them are laughing about in the 18th picture. I’m sure the cameras must drive them crazy. Trip is almost over. I think FLOTUS comes home tomorrow and POTUS goes to France or Poland. Safe travels for them and the Admin folks.

That is what I was getting read to ask, will the First Lady be going to France with the President? But I guess you answer that question AnitaW. I guess she doesn’t want to stay away from the girls much longer. May the Lord watch over them and keep them safe on their travel.

I just read Chipstick’s schedule…FLOTUS goes to France, and goes home after tomorrow. I bet she misses those precious girls! Like someone else said…I have never seen so many smiles on the Duke of Edinburgh…..These two delightful people have a wonderful effect on others.

Just saw the schedule above saying she was going to France. I thought earlier it was said she wasn’t. Oh well, it will be great to see her in France again with the chatty Ms. Bruni.

I just realized Queen Elizabeth dies NOT have on a hat. This is unlike her…..right? Tell me if I am mistaken.

You’re right she doesn’t have her hat. How about that. Now the President and First Lady must invite the Queen to the White House. That would be nice.

Anniebella, Seeing Queen Elizabeth here without a hat on here made me think maybe she heard about some in the media complaining that Michelle didn’t wear a hat yesterday. Maybe this is Queen Elizabeth’s way of getting the media fools to stop the nonsense talk about Michelle not wearing a hat. I’d like it if that were the case anyway. The Queen looks really pretty without a hat.

Hats are daytime wear. Evenings are just hair or hair with tiara.

Oh, why thank you oxfarm for the info. I was hoping someone would fill me in if I was wrong about hat etiquette. Well, I guess Queen Elizabeth skipped the tiara anyway last night! 😉 The queen must always have to have her hair styled to be ready for either a hat or a tiara at any moment! 😉

Can you imagine how some of these jackass media folks were trying to make a big deal out of Michelle not wearing a hat when she and Barack met the Queen Tuesday morning. A CBSNEWS poll where it asked if Michelle should have worn a hat? I email them and told them exactly what I thought of their stupid poll.

Did anyone notice in the video that the Queen climbed over and exited the car? How funny? I thought it only appropriate that someone would walk around and open her door? LOL……………….. The Queen is aging quite gracefully I might add, she was able to hop over without a problem.

The car also seemed to be moving pretty fast. Like it was rented and the driver had to pick up someone else….how entertaining

I look at those pictures of POTUS and FLOTUS and see how they are just acting like kids having fun. Not taking things so seriously, but enjoying themselves, enjoying one another, they are making faces, looking at each other smiling, they are just so special. And they indeed made this American so darn proud.

May I just say that I think the Queen has looked lovely in her two formal dresses – she does look like she is enjoying herself as well. But what is with the handbag all the time? Her dresser/attendant really ought to tell her to “bag” the bag. It dates her. Hope that is not considered snark or nastiness on my part.
