Oh also I want to post this email/link from Color Of Change in regards to a Psychology Today article stating that Black women are innately less attractive/ beautiful than other women. PLEASE SIGN the petition and facebook/tweet it:

    Dear friends,

An article in the magazine Psychology Today claimed that it’s a scientific fact that Black women are less beautiful than women of other races. Its author, Satoshi Kanazawa, is notorious for hiding behind pseudoscience to promote discredited racist and sexist ideas.

In giving these ideas a platform, PT’s editors dehumanized Black women and girls everywhere. After widespread public outcry, they removed the article from their website. But that alone won’t erase the damage they’ve done by validating these discredited ideas — the editors need to apologize, explain how this happened, and let us know that it won’t happen again. Please join me and my friends at ColorOfChange.org in demanding they do so immediately:

Kanazawa’s article is flawed from top to bottom. Using a flawed dataset from an unrelated study of teenagers, he draws the obviously false conclusion that Black women are “objectively” less attractive than women from other racial groups.

Kanazawa has a long history of hiding behind pseudo-science to express racist and sexist views. He once wrote an article asking “Are All Women Essentially Prostitutes?” and another suggesting that the US should have dropped nuclear bombs across the entire Middle East after 9/11 because it would have wiped out Muslim terrorists.

So why does Psychology Today continue to give him a platform? Black women must constantly face both subtle and explicit messages that they are valued less than women of other races — messages that are especially damaging to Black girls. Now they’ve served as launching point for yet another attack, this time in the name of science.

To undo the damage it’s done, Psychology Today needs to explicitly reject Kanazawa’s ideas. Please join me and my friends at ColorOfChange.org in demanding that their editors apologize, explain how this article was published in the first place, and tell us what they’ll do to ensure that this won’t happen again in the future. It takes just a moment:

They were supposed to, but because of the volcano in Iceland, they had to leave early.

The Queen looks too adorable in that image. I hadn’t thought about her wearing her handbag while at home, but yes, good question! Maybe it is because her “home” is so large!

So true, her home is large lol…its so cool that the Obamas are spending the night at Buckingham Palace. Has any other American president been invited for a sleepover? Imagine going down to the kitchen in the middle of the night and running into the Queen 😀

Originally PBO and Mrs. Obama were spending the night in Ireland, but the volcano explosion in Iceland got in the way. When they were told that the ash column would reach the UK Tuesday late morning or afternoon, the powers that be knew they had to get the President to England today. So, they left Ireland today, and will stay in the American Embassy in London tonight. I was so glad to know that they were up on this, and flexible enough to be able to change plans so quickly. I felt their love of Ireland so deeply, and know they must be disappointed, but they always do what they should.
I bet the Queen hugs Michelle……

Can you imagine what a Secret Service nightmare that must have been to have to change overnight plans like that due to the volcanic ash situation.

They had to fly out because of the volcano in Iceland is spewing ash. They might not have been able to fly out tomorrow.

Again thank you Chips for a fantastic day. I feel like I was in Ireland today.

I hope the POTUS and FLOTUS get some good rest, because they have another busy day. I don’t think the First Lady will touch the Queen tomorrow, shake her hand yes, but not touch her any other way. We don’t want to see the uproar like some tried to make the last time. Anyway I am looking forward to tomorrow. I shall be here seeing what I can fine. I know you won’t let me down Chipsticks.

Chipsticks, Many thanks for all the smiling Irish eyes today! I’ve just now been able to catch up on the festivities. I’m continually amazed at how nearly every country President and First Lady Obama visit, their brief visits truly seem like a transformative moments for that country. What incredible leaders those two are.

Given that, it makes reports such as that Associated Press video clip you linked earlier seem that much more pathetic. The narrator does his best to put some sort of negative spin on every aspect of today, including some bizarre reference to Bill Clinton drawing even more people for a speech in Northern Ireland. First of all, I don’t think that’s true and there were so many other factors involved at that time with all the fighting within Ireland and the locations, and second, why try to make a comparison at all? Where are the comparisons with George W. Bush or H.W. Bush and how those two, if they could muster a crowd at all, would bumble in front of tightly controlled, hand-picked trained seals? The worldwide Obama phenomenon is the epitome of a global ground-up, grassroots movement.

I loved how President Barack Hussein Obama weaved together his grandfather’s grandfather’s experience into what the “American Dream” is all about. As he said, there is certainly “a lot of green behind the red, white, and blue!” Amazing day!

The references to Bill Clinton are a sign that the media pundits are grasping at straws. As you said, why the comparisons to Clinton and not to the previous president GW? Furthermore, Obama did not make this trip to compete with Clinton or anyone else for that matter. I don’t think Henry Healy or any of the joyful faces in the crowd today gave a rat’s arse about Clinton’s crowd or whatever juvenile nonsense the media chose to focus on.
