NPR: First lady Michelle Obama urged more than 1,000 cadets Friday night on the brink of graduating to keep in mind the families of the soldiers they will lead.
Obama addressed the white-clad cadets and their families gathered in the U.S. Military Academy’s castle-like mess hall for a graduation-eve banquet. It marked her first visit to the storied academy and dovetails with her recent work on behalf of military families … she is the only first lady to address cadets at their graduation banquet….
OUR AWESOME ‘FIRST LADY’ IS A LADY OF ‘FIRSTS!’…FOR GOOD REASON…SHE CARRIES ALOT OF COMPASSION FOR OUR MILITARY MEN AND WOMEN AND CERTAINLY HAS BROUGHT THEIR MUCH DESERVED RESPECT AND ADMIRATION TO THE FOREFRONT!
I watched to the speech. She was great. She talked about the importance of family. The cadets will face hard times but she reminded them that they have a nation behind them, but most importantly; family.
Though she is only 6 years older than my own daughter, Michelle Obama is my hero. She is an equal to her husband in passion and commitment, brilliance and in every other way. What a joy it is to watch them work together as a team and separately. Pay attention world…this is what a real marriage and a true partnership is.
Now on a personal note TOD Family…I’m very happy and excited because this year because our family has three fabulous young people graduating from college! One niece is graduating from Northwestern, another from UC Berkeley and nephew from Cal-State East Bay. The only way I’d be more excited if our FLOTUS was speaking at one of the commencements!
What a joy to see this. God bless these cadets and their families. Our First Lady is the best.

Where did you watch the speech? Once again I missed her and I am so disappointed.
I’m so proud of that woman, and her husband too. We are blessed.
