we the people! (well, mr & mrs geddings)

Governor Nikki Haley speaks during a meeting of the Tea Party in Columbia Thursday night at the Statehouse. A.L. Geddings and Louise Geddings of Columbia were representative of the low turnout.

The State: The Columbia Tea Party went from Donald Trump to jilted chump after the celebrity businessman canceled his appearance at Thursday’s State House rally, and state legislators approved tax breaks and spending that the group opposed.

Trump’s decision to not enter the GOP presidential race left local Tea Party leaders stewing about the way they had been treated. But about 30 people were on hand Thursday to thank Gov. Nikki Haley, lawmakers and activists for their work to require more on-the-record Legislative votes.

It was all part of a tough week for the state’s Tea Party movement.

Columbia Tea Party chairman Allen Olson expected as many as 2,000 would have attended Thursday’s rally had Trump been there. But The Donald, a favorite of many who attended the group’s Tax Day rally with U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann elected to not run and dropped the rally from his schedule.

“It was a kick in the gut, but it gives you a chance to regroup,” said Olson.

I agree! At first, before i read about the situation, I thought it might be in Ireland with 2 people getting ready to wait it out and protect their great seats until the President arrives to speak in a few days!!

Well Mr Geddings went because he thought she wanted to go. And Mrs Geddings went because she thought he wanted to go. Boy are they going to have one nasty argument as soon as they come from the Country Buffet.

I wonder how much longer will the tea partiers allow themselves to be the puppets of shysters like Trump and the Republican Party? I could have told them that the SC republicans would give more tax breaks to corporations and spend more money than they wanted them to, and I don’t need a crystal ball to do it! My point of reference for these predictions comes from watching them at work over the last 30 + years. Some of the tea partiers have to be old enough to remember that the GOP pizzes on the little people every time they are in power. The tea partiers have been taken on a grand ride courtesy of the corporatists and their GOP friends. Now that they have accomplished their goal, they don’t need the tea partiers anymore–no more free bus rides to rallies for them!

A lot of the tea partiers don’t know what they stood for, and some of them stood for racism. Period.
