Doing that to Newt only makes him a sympathetic figure in the eyes of the American public. Dumb strategy.

Ole Leroy just can’t catch a break! He gets held hand-hostage and screamed at, he gets glittered, and his gay sister writes an article telling him to stop being a hater. They might have to re-visit this “campaign thingy”

OMG that is not cool, very scary and very rude. Mr. Gingrich is a disgusting racist piece of shit imo but I do not agree with this sort of thing. Thank God it was not acid or a gun in that bag.

Hmmmmmmmm, things are not looking so good for the husband of Callista. I’m wondering who the guy is who jumped into action and started helping to brush the glitter off his suit coat? I am guessing he is a paid employee of Newt. This video of Newt sitting there looking all pathetic not sure what to do and then continuing to sign books on the table of glitter certainly does not look Presidential.

I am having a hard time personally justifying the actions of the person who conducted this glitter stunt. I think it crosses a line. I certainly would not want anyone surprising PBO with something hidden in a bag. Even though it was harmless glitter I still find that sneaky type of action unnerving.

M, I agree that I too would not like to see something like this happen to POTUS and I do think that the potential danger level has risen, but I am also comfortable in knowing that the White House security detail is already on a higher alert level now that he has begun the campaign march.

While this was scarey on the part of his security it wasn’t gonna hurt him physically. All he got was some confetti thrown on him so……..I will lmao!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope the person throwing the glitter is arrested and charged – there is no place for this. Protesters think it’s funny or cute if they assault with pies or in this case glitter. Then they’ll whine and cry in court about how little ol’ them was just pulling a bit of harmless hijinks. I hope the judge throws the book at them.

Would it be just as funny if some redneck threw red paint over a pro-choice Dem because of their abortion stance?

And I’ll echo what was mentioned above – it just makes Newt look sympathetic – not to mention I believe his wife is right beside him. Security there is ridiculous and heads should roll.

    Richly deserved, Grinch.
ps- Ed the bombastic is entertaining Cornel-Hater-West tonight. How lovely for them both.

I started watching Ed again after the OBL, because I caught a glimpse of him praising the President. He started his decline late last week, and now I’m completely off of him again. I knew it wouldn’t last.

Ed and the rest of the PL’s are simply opportunistic hustlers!!! No different from some of their counterparts on the right!!!

They have gotten t.v and radio shows and a little followership that will buy the books they will now write for the bucks and all they had to do was make up stuff and attack President Obama!!!

These are not principled or honest brokers and the fact that most are just screaming illiterates makes their sudden elevation as reward all the more amusing but ultimately very temporary!!!
They should all make the most of this time because in the near future many will have forgotten they ever existed!!!

They have all fallen back into the groove (rut) again. Frankly I’m surprised it took them this long.

The pattern seems to be that KThug Krugman puts out a critical article. This week it was a pre-emptive strike on the debt ceiling negotiations and how Obama is going to fold. Sound familiar?!

So once KThug gives the signal with these articles they all start piling on. Sigh…….!

When did this happen? OMG ! He is not getting the reception he expected is he? Welcome to the world of scorched earth political life that you helped create. How does it feel to be on the receiving end, Newt?

Newt Gingrich and the mistress that he married are nasty pieces of work who have no business being anywhere near the White House. That said, I am not at all in favor of throwing anything, be it glitter or pie or eggs, etc. at any person out there on the trail. I don’t care how vile they are, there is a way to protest without getting physical.

If you want to win people over to support your point of view, this is not at all the way to do it.

I agree with you – these are the same people who heckle the President, I’m sure. This just opens the door to more crazy behavior.

Oh my gosh I agree with you Theo, but I REALLY do no hope no one else follows this idiots lead. I wish this person had really not done that with the glitter. He os she does not represent me!

Yeah remember the dude that tried to arrest Cheney (??) or the shoe-thrower. Not cool. Because if anyone tries anything like that with Obama I’m personally visiting them.

I agree with what many have said. I can’t stand newt but I cringe at seeing something like this. Someone will want to get even and do something to someone on “the other side”. I often worry about PBO & FLOTUS. They jump right in and touch and hug people. I used to watch 24 all the time. There was an episode where someone shook President Palmer’s hand and put something on his had that nearly killed him. Yes it’s just TV but sometimes truth or reality is stranger than fiction.

This stunt should be used as an eye opener. Secret Service…up your game!

Well, I’m not fond of Newt either, and Yes, he has said some harsh Racial comments, but It wasn’t a good thing to throw Glitter, or anything else for that matter, but truthfully, IMO, I can’t think of a better person, for It to have happen to. I’m a Believer, and we shouldn’t do bad things, just because someone did bad things to us, but being that I’m Human just like the Newtster, I have to ask our Lord and Savior to forgive my thoughts. So having said all of that, I would much rather have Glitter thrown on me, than have someone Spit on me, and In my face 😦 Now, that’s DIRTY, and NASTY! Noone threw the book at the Spitter, as far as I know. That’s just It, the point here Is that GOD made and created every single one of us, and just like God forgives me, God also forgives everyone else that ask for forgiveness. NO ONE IS SPECIAL In GOD’s eyes, and that’s the BEAUTY of being a believer.

THAT WAS AN EXTREMELY RUDE THING TO DO REGARDLESS OF WHO IS THE RECIPIENT. THAT IS MY QUESTION…WAS SECURITY NAPPING? WE DON’T WANT THESE THINGS TO HAPPEN IN AMERICA BECAUSE THIS IS NOT WHO WE ARE. THE GUY WHO DID THAT JUST PUT HIMSELF IN THE SAME CLASS AS GLEN BECK!

Another ‘oh dear’ moment for Newt. Thankfully nothing harmful, just another bruising to his ego which I’m sure he is used to. Hope the guy is charged though as we do not want anyone copying or planning anything similar or worse to anyone else.

If you want to express your anger & frustration towards Newt and his party: Go to the polls next November and let it all out in the voting booth!!!
