IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL ADDRESS FROM THE PRESIDENT…I ALWAYS LOVE THE FACT THAT HE REMINDS AMERICANS THAT EVERY ONE OF US IS AN IMMIGRANT FROM SOMEWHERE! WE NEED TO THINK ABOUT THAT FACT….AND OFTEN. ‘ELLIS ISLAND’ IS THE NAME OF A GREAT EARLY IMMIGRATION DOCUMENTARY PRODUCED BY THE HISTORY CHANNEL THAT YOU CAN BUY ONLINE OR AT YOUR BOOK STORE. EVERYONE SHOULD SEE IT…IT SHOWS ALL OF THE PAIN OUR ANCESTORS ENDURED TO GET TO AMERICA. GOD BLESSED OUR COUNTRY BECAUSE WE MADE PROMISES TO OTHERS…WE CANNOT GO BACK ON THOSE PROMISES. THIS IS A MORAL RESPONSIBILITY. OUR WORLD NEEDS COMPASSION AND LOVE FOR EVERYONE! WE ARE ALL A PART OF THE RAINBOW OF DIVERSITY THE GOOD LORD CREATED FOR ‘HIS’ PURPOSE!

Good Lord its too much. These schedules every week is just too damn much. All these interviews and speeches and meetings. I know its part of the job but I never seen any other president extend themselves so much. Didn’t he just do a prayer breakfast last week and interview plus town hall meeting with the Hispanics last week? Whoever is making these schedules needs to stop. *sigh Sorry I am just not feeling all this.

Wow, Kelly. I must say — and I mean no offense — but I’m kinda shocked at your comment. The President is doing his job. Is the problem that we have never had a president who has been willing to give of himself to the American people — ALL of the American people like President Obama? Is the problem that we all really, really, really want to hear from THIS president over any other that we have ever had? He is a great President. And I will never tire of his leadership and hearing from him.

Also want to add that President Obama was serious about what he wanted to do for the country when he decided to run. He’s working hard to fulfill his promises. And he’s a high achiever who will not be satisfied with doing enough just to get by. He should be celebrated for this.

The American people LOVE seeing and hearing this President. They cannot get enough of him – even the ones that profess to not like him. But I suspect Kelly’s concern is out of worry that our President might be spread too thin, which can lead to poor health, burnout, sleep deprivation, etc., and that too much is demanded from this President when people were content to let other Presidents “sleep” out their presidencies with few consequences.

But I agree with you that President Obama sets high standards for himself and has always been that way. I also heard somewhere that he is very demanding of his WH administration/staff, and others in government.

I may be wrong, but I think Kelly was saying how hard PBO has to work. One engagement after another–seven days a week.

Aww Kel, He’s just doing his job. I’m grateful that he cares so much about his constituents.

Thank goodness he has his family to balance off his intense schedule. Every time I see him with Michelle he looks so completely happy to be by her side and proud of her. His full schedule does surprise me at times, but I could not be more proud of his hard work. I would be interested to compare PBO’s daily schedules with the daily schedules from GW. I would guess there is no comparison. It made me so mad when Trump recently said something about PBO spending all his time on the basketball court or something like that…..he was as far from being accurate and honest as is possible. Spewing lies.

He is a great President, a President for all Americans. He has enormous energy, we can be thankful for that.
I love that we goes directly to the people, in all types of venues, because our MSM does not assist him and may have an agenda to undermine him. May God be his strength and shield. And may millions of Americans get his back and contribute to the movement of change he leads.

That third pic with a smiling PBO and the white column has to be one of my new favorite images of him!

Oh yes, Sue, that is the one I love too. I didn’t realize he was peaking out from behind the curtain. We all need to get some of joy he exudes!

Chipsticks – I want to thank you for providing these kinds of posts. We all need to be sharing them with all of the Latinos who are in our lives – friends, coworkers, church members – for we can’t take for granted that they are plugged in to politics. It is for the good of this Country that we all bring the disenfranchised out of the shadows so they can be fully participants in the American dream. I don’t want to continue to see people marching for fair labor laws when half of them are illegal – I want them to be full Americans who get to have fair labor laws. Stop having housekeepers keep your house and your children, yet get kicked to the curb or thrown under the bus when exposed (Meg Whitman). We need to help them become legal and enforce our laws on those who come over to commit crimes like smuggle drugs. When you post these Chipsticks, I’ll pass them on to my Latino friends. Thank you.

I want any Hispanic to truly think about things, because deciding not to vote for this President, it will not make anything better for them. I do believe this President want to do the right thing for all people, but if they are not satisfied with the President on certain things. Ask them selves, what do you think the Republicans will do for Hispanics? Will they get what they want from the Republicans? Hell No! They won’t. They would pack them up and send them back whereever they come from. So the Hispanics will be better off staying with this President. We all need to get out to vote 2012 and get rid of John Boehner and the Tea baggers and the Republicans. I would tell all Hispanics, don’t give up on President Obama just yet.

You are right anniebella. I doubt that it will pass this time, but if things turn around in 2012 and we have a majority in the house and senate again, it could happen. That would be fantastic.

From President Obama’s speech at the Hispanic Prayer Breakfast:

“I just want to thank Reverend Cortes. I just got a extraordinary gift — a bilingual Bible. It is beautiful. (Applause.) I was told this will help improve my Spanish. (Laughter.) And I said, “I’ll pray on it.” (Laughter)”

He is so lovable and has a marvelous sense of humor.

I get Kelly’s worries but quite frankly this should be the sort of the norm for all Presidents/PMs. We don’t want them stuck in their ‘ivory towers’ then come election time they appear and expect people to vote for them. All we can do is pray for his safety and that he continues to be healthy.
