Can’t stand the guy. Including this clip. He is just annoying. Doesn’t matter what he is saying.

Some times I don’t like Chris Matthews views either. But how can you dismiss so easily that he is calling out Newt Gingrich’s race baiting.

Mae, I agree with you. Anyone who is a pundit can and should call things the way they see it. If Chris did nothing but praise the president, he would be considered an Obama boy. He would lose all respect as a journalist.

It is the same with Rachel. Sometimes I love her and other times I feel like slapping her face.

I saw Chris mathews on hardball and he was on fire. Shame on that politico woman. I hope and pray Chris mathews doesn’t change because he is really the ultimate Obama defender if he chooses to do it, depending on what side of bed he woke up from. HHA!

You are so right. He comes and goes in terms of how he views the president. But when is is on Obama’s side he is great. Jean, what’s her name, please tell me how someone could say the things that NEwt says and not be a racist?

Fine say Newt’s his way to get elected, but truth be known, anyone who would use that kind of language is a racist and a snake with no moral grounding.

Made the mistake of clicking on that clip. I guess you decided to torture us tonight. Between Tweety and clips of Newt I almost started dry heaving. Made it through the first couple minutes and that’s it.

That pic of Our President is adorable! I agree Me4obama, he does look SO youthful. Such a great man. We are so blessed to witness this Presidency.
Fred, which clip are you speaking of? Chris Matthews or Joy?

Have a lovely restful happy night Chips.. thanks for all you’re doing.

okay you KNOW I have to comment about the unbelievable support for Newt Gingrich’s ‘cheating’ on the Joy Clip.. “its not the cheating, its the hypocrisy”. oh for petes sake. Miss blondy blond on Joy’s show says.. she’s flawed, so she can get pass that cheatin’ stuff. Wonder how she’s dealing with President Obama? She says all politicians have baggage.. really??

What a really moronic conversation. I do like Joy, but this is seriously silly. Newt Gingrich isn’t just flawed, he is an oily scheming lying liar… and I cannot believe the summersalts this blond is spinning for ole newt. Okay yes I can, this is what repubs do for each other: LIE and Protect liars.

That is E.D Hill formerly of FOX news, now at CNN. Part of the FOX/CNN training and exchange program. She has kept her required FOX uniform of bleached blonde hair and republican talking points even as Dana Bash is test driving hers and awaiting for her transfer papers!

to be fair and absolutely honest I can admit right here that I do despise Newt Gingrich. Always have, he is a horrid, small small small person and it would be utterly disgusting to see President Obama have to share a stage with this bullying racist hatemonger. I feel about this guy the way I do about that Palin person- nothing redeeming about either of them.

Between the clip of Jon Stewart’s amazing take down of Fox news last night and this clip of Mr. Mathews, my heart is softening just a smidgen to these pundits. But I know they will do something (and soon) to harden it again. Mr. Mathews was great just now. I wish they would keep being awesome and factual like that, stop hand holding the disgusting repubs.

Night CS. thanks for your hard work.

Yes, I think we might be getting to the last days before they revert back to their Obama-bashing ways. Fortunately, the President is heading overseas, and we can watch the foreign news fawn over him while these ones here launch their next attacks.

OT – I’m so disappointed that Gingrich is in the race, proudly carrying the filthy racist banner. I (naively) thought we had seen the last of the really ugly stuff when Trump was dealt with, but Gingrich is just going to give the ugly racists permission to get as ugly and detestable as they can get, and he’ll be using big words, so the really stupid will think he’s saying something smart. It looks like it’s going to be an ugly ride over the next 18 months. Yuck.

Agree its gonna be disgusting but we are prepared for that. Our hard working potus Obama is classy, keeps his promises, a great family man and takes his job seriously. So I am proud to be on the side of the greatest potus of my life. Let the disgraceful Repubs remain disgracing themselves. 🙂

heh, Jeanne Cummings needs more “proof” that Gingrich is racist.. or salting his language racially… haaaa. So Newt until you start burning crosses on the White House lawn- you’re cool with her. Fu**ers- every last one of them.

Jeanne Cummings fits right in with the other cowards at politico. They often defend right wing nuts. She is in denial and is therefore a part of the problem. Thanks Chris, for sticking with her and forcing her to admit she couldn’t defend newt. Now if she would only confront her own denial regarding racism.

Watching the Joy clip – all I could think of was “we don’t have any of these problems with President Obama”. I’m glad they ended by basically stating how proud we should all be of the First Family and their sanity.

But, while they chose to focus on the scandals of all the Republican “candidates”, the darker facts that they ignored is that they have no ideas, and their track records and embarassing – from turning a surplus to a huge, gaping deficit, to flip flopping on every issues, all the way to promoting themselves using race-baiting language.

    Thank God for President Obama.

The gist of Chris Matthews clip is that he is exposing Newt Gingrich for his racist views. Newt is continuing Donald Trumps bullshit. Some of these folk think that the presidency is an honor that should only be bestowed on white men. And this is why they so flagrantly has bias words against President Obama. It is so freaking sickening

  20. 41 CEB
    May 13, 2011 at 6:37 am

Newt does not realize that he is irrelevant and that much of the country and the world has moved on. We are not in the 90’s.

Oh, well. His dillusion, like others of his ilk, will soon go the way of others.

As for he and others like George S. who thinks that the president fears any of his possible opponents, where have they been? The man who was willing to the roll the risky dice to get OBL, who was willing to take a hit in the polls to get HCR passed into law, is not afraid of anyone or anything. They seem to think that the days when Black men lowered their eyes and said Yassuh to anyone white male are still here. Furthermore, as Chris kept pointing out, PBO was born of and raised by a white American woman and her white American parents, so at no point would he have had such a fear or submissive nature in the first place.

This man is a fossill and does not realize it.

‘It’s not racist. It’s exotic, foreign, not american’ good grief! I’m glad Chris Matthews pushed her until she finally admitted she could not defend it. (SMH) Chris had already said it was “code”. I was hoping I wouldn’t have to hear too much from Newt. Now Romney is out there struggling to say his healthcare plan is nothing like (you know the made-up-name the teapublicans use) My TV’s mute button is getting a lot of use lately. 😦

Morning all!!! How is everyone doing? Quick tidbit, was flipping channels last night and landed on the Ed Show, Ed said that Crazy-eyed Bachmann went to see pictures of Bin Laden (because she is on the Intelligence Committee-hahahahahaha, yes the irony of that is well noted)and she tweeted: “We got our man…” To which Ed gave her a scorching piece of his mind. It was worth watching Ed just to see that bit.

    • 45 Theo67
      May 13, 2011 at 2:42 pm

I ran away from Ed last night, because I could see that he’s already started to slip back into the “bash Obama” mode. He had some character on that was blaming the President for some imagined slight, and Ed didn’t challenge him on it at all. Well, I knew it couldn’t last…
