Hey everyone. I know most of you already donate what you can to the President’s re-election campaign, but I decided to set up an ‘Obama Diary’ fundraising page at BarackObama.com (OFA) today just so the blog can do its very, very, very small bit! The fundraising target is $1,000 (donations start at $10) – a drop in the Koch brothers-infested ocean, I know, but as we learnt in 2008, small sums add up beautifully 😉
I know that many of you won’t be in a position to donate because you’re going really tough times financially, so don’t worry at all if you can’t, you already contribute to the re-election campaign with time, effort, heart and soul!

Yikes, some of you are having problems with that link – until I sort it out, just leave a message if you want to donate to Obama/Biden 2012 and I can send you an ‘invite’ through the OFA website. Thank you for your patience!
I’m in Chipstick. thanks for doing this.
You’re a dote Dorothy, thank you 😉
Wow, thanks chipsticks. AM IN. Obama/Biden 2012. Guys don’t forget to watch 60 minutes tonight at 7 pm.
I’m in. And I will definitely be watching 60 minutes tonight.
Speaking of fundraising, I just saw on my local ABC news that a group of Iowan Republican fundraisers are STILL trying to get NJ Gov Christie to run against President Obama. They are actually planning to meet with him in NJ this week to pursuade him. Clearly, they are not confident about ANY of the current crop of GOP contenders or wannabe contenders. Well, I don’t think the majority of Americans are confident in Christie either – President Obama beats him in his own state!!!
I read that too Hopefruit, I laughed out loud! How many points behind the President was Christie in NJ in that last poll?? A lot! I’m loving their desperation 😉
Plus, they didn’t see how Christie was hanging on to POTUS at Ground Zero. He’s already dun drank the Kool Aid – they’re too late.
Yup, in fact he must be planning his next Disney trip to go see President Obama at the “Hall of Presidents.”
Question Chipsticks, I’m already in, but if I wanted to go into the OFA site to make a pledge to your fundraiser, what name should I look for?
Hi Gail, thank you so much!
The fundraising page at OFA is called The Obama Diary – https://donate.barackobama.com/page/outreach/view/2012/TheObamaDiary
Thank you again.
My pleasure. I signed in earlier, and got to the part where it wants you to name the fundraiser and I when “doh”! LOL!
I’m in with with mucho pride.
I keep getting error messages – will try again later tonight.
Hiya GC, sorry about those error messages, I’m not sure what the problem is. I sent you an ‘invite’ through the OFA site which hopefully will work. Thanks GC.
Can you send me an invite too Chipsticks?
Will do right now M 😉 Thank you!
Made my contribution, but had to go through your link above to get to your Group. Did not see The Obama Diary listed under Groups where Public Groups are listed.
I can’t find The Obama Diary in the OFA search box either, GGail – leave it with me, I need to sort this out. 😦
Yes ma’am! At the rate your fundraiser is going, you’ll reach $1,000 in no time. Wonderful!
That is awesome! Way to go, Chips! I’m always astounded at how generous people are when it comes to donating to support PBO, thank goodness.
I love it!! I’ll be able to contribute on Wednesday of this week. 🙂 I like to think big. It’s fun to set goals and then surpass them. $1,000 is our first goal. When they had the Alaska senate race I seem to remember them saying it was only $10 for a radio add. It’s so much fun to be a part of supporting President Obama. I see good things blossoming and growing all along the way.
I hope you are going to have one of those thermometer things showing how much has been raised and then adding to it when we surpass the goal (as I’m sure we will).
Thanks, Chipsticks!!!
Is there a limit as to how much one can donate? I’ve been donating since last year every month auto withdrawal from my account and will continue to do so.
Chipsticks, I became a US citizen in 2009, after persuading my American daughter (born in Texas when my husband was training there) to represent the family and vote for President Obama, and she did, (happily I add). Now in 2012, all of us are now American citizens and all 5 of us are voting for him. Today, for the first time, I donated to the re-election of Barack Obama for president through your site. It was an exhilarating moment.
Betsy, thank you for sharing that! I am so excited for you!
Betsy, your message was stunningly lovely – that you donated for the first time through this site …. ah, I’ll die happy! Your family’s five votes will be cherished, if the experience was exhilarating for you, it was just as exhilarating to read about it. Love ya Betsy.
Chipsticks! at this rate, you’ll reach $1,000 before you get the kinks worked out! I’m dancing a jig of happiness!!!!!
Ha, I hope so! Still trying to figure out the kinks, though – ‘The Obama Diary’ still isn’t showing up on the OFA search …. I can’t find myself! 😦
🙂 After watching 60 min, I’m even more excited. 🙂
Oh Betsy – BRAVO!!! I’m happy for you and your family!
Thank you all. It’s very exciting!
Hello Chipstick, I am already in, but I just donated to The Obama Diary. I do not have much on a fixed income, but I am trying to do what I can where and when I can. I am so proud of your hard work and all of my family here. I love you all and I thank you, Chipsticks for everything.
I donated this morning, no problem. I also heard Cokie Roberts on NPR this morning and I have a BIG problem with that! She has a way of making everything she says about the President sound snide. She basically said his appearance on 60 Minutes was just to strut around looking tough. And when she quoted what he said she made it sound like “yeah, if we can believe anything he says…” She makes me SO MAD!
Well, Ms. Roberts only succeeded in making HERSELF look petty and juvenile. Clearly, the majority of people who saw that interview felt differently based on the reactions I’ve been reading – even from moderate Republican sources.
That is maddening rritz…
