I hope he goes golfing on Sunday and rubs the media’s nose in it. He should take a week off at Camp David or something. He’s earned it and I think probably needs it.

A very sweet Happy Mother’s Day to FLOTUS. I hope she knows how very much we and POTUS appreciate and love her every day. She gave such a great speech today in Iowa and POTUS, well….we know he had a good week, for sure. Heh.

Believe it or not I was just thinking I haven’t seen a date night lately, and wow here it is. I hope they have a quiet nice romantic evening. Tomorrow is Mother’s Day, so it will be time for Malia and Sasha to do something special for Mommie. Tonight it is time for husband to do something special for his wife, Mother of his children. Hope you have a wonderful night POTUS and FLOTUS.

Marlz, people are so excited and fired up. At this one house we went to the guy told as he is a registered republican and wanted his daughter who is 18 to register as a democrat because she loves president Obama. Then she told us that she will make sure that her entire family votes for PBO in 2012. There is so much energy out there we had a list of accomplishments PBO has done on hand and when you show it to people they just look shocked like they’ve never had it before. But the Bin Laden news is what everyone was talking about everywhere we went.

I am feeling sad/mad/unsettled after seeing a slimy exchange on FB today of someone saying the hope the president is not reelected and a military wife putting down the President and saying she is upset everyone is giving him credit for capturing OBL. I spoke up and I hope my voice made some sort of difference..but I have my doubts. I need to stay way from negativity, racism and ignorance so I’ll be taking up permeant residence right here with TOD community. It is so maddening to me because if people would only look and listen for themselves I believe they would see the greatness of this time, of this President.

    • May 7, 2011 at 10:08 pm

Don’t let them get you down M, they’re especially bitter and vicious this week because President Obama succeeded where Bushie Boy and VP Halliburton failed: getting bin Laden. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Oh M, please don’t loose sleep over it!! God is great and most people will eventually come to realise all what this President has accomplished! Read Me4Obama post…HOPE IS STILL ALIVE!!..and yes please stay right here and be a part of TOD family!

      May 7, 2011 at 10:58 pm

M, I understand you. Sometimes I go to some of those places to voice my opinion. I say what I want to say and I move on. It’s not to change any of those haters mind. First of all they have no mind. Second of all I want them to know that this President still have plenty of supporters who support him 100 percent. Today I read in this Iowa paper where some woman at the graduation made the comment that Mrs. Obama speech was about politics, and that Mrs. Obama wasn’t a good role model for the students. You know I got in touch with that paper and told them exactly what I thought of that woman and her stupid ass comments. I guess her perfect role model would have been something like Sarah Palin. Anyway Happy Mother’s Day to everyone.

    • 51 MeaBloom
      May 8, 2011 at 1:34 am

It’s sad but they probably won’t recognize his greatness and all he has done until AFTER his 8yrs are up and they mindlessly let a Republican become President. I hear all the time “He won’t get another term.” or “He’s only won because he’s BLACK.” and those things hurt. Most of the time I ignore these people because they are ignorant. Like I tell my younger cousins “We ignore inappropriate behavior”. I also have to remember it’s not what man says, but what God says and he has the final say. God knows this man is doing all he can to fix this country and so do we. Feel Better.

        May 8, 2011 at 5:03 am

If I heard anything like Obama only won because he’s black, or he won’t win a second term. I would ask them and Bush won because of what. It sure wasn’t his brains. And I would tell them don’t bet your mobile home that he won’t win a second term, no one gave him a chance to win a first term, did they. But he won.

        • 53 M
          May 8, 2011 at 9:02 am

This white woman whom I do not know at all said something about “we all know why he won….” I thought to myself and why is that because he is brilliant, a leader, inspiring, focused, consistent, honest, classy, savvy, empathetic, hopeful, visionary and the hardest working man you’ll ever meet? It burned me because to me this woman could only be using racial undertones in my opinion. I don’t even want to engage this woman any further I was absolutely disgusted. I would love to think I could be helpful in someday for the 2012 campaign, but this tiny interaction such as the one I am speaking of makes it hard to see myself being able to take those kind of discusting punches. Any advice?

            May 8, 2011 at 10:31 am

M, There is always something we can do. Make sure that all the people in your family are register to vote. Or at least talk to them and encourage them to register, we can’t make them register, but we can give a little push. Talk to members at your church or other churches. If you are able, volunteer at a Obama/Biden 2012 campaign office, that way you don’t have to interact with those kind of people. Where there’s a will, there’s a way. Stay strong and keep the faith.

Thanks anniebella! I dropped that FB friend and wrote a note saying I could not believe she would leave a comment with negative racial undertones on her FB page. I do not accept that. Maybe you’ll have to talk to my family for me cause there is no way I’ll be able to convince him to vote democratic! ๐Ÿ˜‰

                May 8, 2011 at 10:45 pm

When I wrote about my family…I was not referring to my entire family, just my father who likes Rush and the tea baggers…..=(. He and I do not talk politics at all! I had to tell him to stop sending me pro bush emails during the bush presidency!

    • May 8, 2011 at 5:42 am

You can have the finest military in the world but without leadership it is useless, see previous eight years as example.

MORALE is reflective of leadership. The US Military is feeling better than it has in decades with the CiC and all the things the FLOTUS and SLOTUS are doing to support the military families.

The alleged military spouse whom you spoke about I doubt is a spouse of anything but a armchair recruit wannabee.

When people say all the president did was make a decision that is FALSE. He LED.

President Clinton passed an d missed a few opportunities to take out OBL.

President Bush missed ignored OBL and thus we had September 11, 2001.
President Bush missed OBL at Borra, Borra and lost his trail….

NIn all of this each president made decisions and many not wise ones.

Leadership also requires assembling a team of advisers who are knowledgeable and that you trust….

Thus it is a combination of things which makes a winning team – support and trust are key ingredients.

      • 58 M
        May 8, 2011 at 9:21 am

Teamobama 2012, the long time military spouse and federal employee said in her opinion this president is all talk about taking care of servicemen based on her experience. I figure this was a blanket negative statement not based on fact. The only thing I can figure would give her this impression is the pay freeze and I wondered if this woman realizes pay freezes have happened for other workers too…? I would love to read any more factual information/personal information you have in this area so I can be better armed if this situation arises again.

Yes, Chipsticks is so right. I understand your feeling. But do not allow their bitterness get even near your heart. Enjoy your thoughts, deeds, and appreciation for our President. There are a lot of angry people out there, so we will find ways to enjoy our President especially when we have to witness these bitter people. So tonight, let us get a nice glass of wine, a cup of tea, coffee, and eat some chocolate with that, and listen to Miles Davis”Kind of Blue.” That is one of President Obama’s favorite jazz artist, plus that is a classic album. Enjoy yourself tonight, we are all out to dining with our POTUS and FLOTUS tonight. Oh, do not forget the candles. I am going downstairs now to get my wine.

I agree with all that is said about staying away from the negative. They cannot stand it that a black man is succeeding where they always thought they would. I use to feel very down until Blackwaterdog started her blog and from there I found this wonderful place. I am not depressed anymore because of these 2 great communities. We know what the real world is like and we will win. I know the POTUS and FLOTUS will have a wonderful night together and get their batteries recharged. They don’t let the negativity win so we won’t either.

I can’t see the plaid. He looks great but I don’t think that is what he is comfortable in. I bet FLOTUS talked him into it. They will probably be talking about it tomorrow on the TV..or just skip it and grip about what a horrible week they had cause the reporters had to work so hard chasing him around. I’m sure she complemennted him in it. He’s doing to have to go play golf now to get them really mad since they can’t compartmentalize their brain like he can.

Mrs.O looks lovely as usual. That handbag is IT! I also see the President has on a different jacket. I hope no one takes it to heart, but I like him better in solids. That’s just me. The man can rock anything, but he looks his best(IMO)in his usual solid jackets. It’s not something you usually see him wearing. Any who,, Good for them.

They would turn heads even if they were still just Barack and Michelle from Chicago. Not only are they tall, beautiful, and obviously in love, something that people like seeing, but they also move with confidence; something that draws attention.

We have become so accustomed to this couple in the White House, that we mostly just consider them in the background of our lives as citizens in this country, but every now and then, the realization that this beautiful, smart, charismatic, funny, dedicated, confident and stylish couple; the parents of beautiful, polite, and engaging kids, and the children of a grandmother who is just like many of ours, is African-American. Wow! To think that our country changed so much that 70 million voted for this family, are eager to vote for them again and for the first time; that millions cheer and reach for handshakes and hugs wherever they go, just wow! I am a product of segregated schools where we got the books, desks and equipment after the white schools discarded them, whites-only public places, and having to pay the black tax in my various professions. Even though my life and access changed as the years progressed, there was still that inner restraint and wariness that many people of color carry. So sometimes I marvel at how far we have come as a nation. Obviously, there are still many challenges, but they are not unsurmountable. What times we live in. so blessed and happy to be here.

P.S. I like PBO’s jacket and I am sure that Michelle picked it out.

Welcome to the TOD family. Glad that you found your way here. We are fierce in our love and support of PBO and the entire First Family (including Bo)and the members of the administration. Many here consider themselves to be Obamacrats, or even Obamabots (that designation is without stain here). Posters are kind, thoughtful, funny (we had an unbelieveable online party the night of the WHCD)smart, informed, and pro-active. Chipsticks is our guide and protector (the site is moderated) so you do not have to worry about trolls and haters. Come in and relax. Join us as we play and pray, celebrate, confide, and comfort; fight for and defend the best president in our life times.
