today…

Live here

Hi people, I’ll be out for most of the day but will catch up with you all later – have a blissful Friday 😉

President Obama waves to visitors as he walks towards the Marine One for a departure on the South Lawn

Col. Jacqueline D. Van Ovost: “You did good, Mr President.”

President: “Stop, stop, you’re making me blush.”

(Okay, I made that up!)

President Obama walks with Col. Jacqueline D. Van Ovost, the commander of the 89th Airlift Wing, prior to boarding Air Force One at Andrews Air Force Base as he travels to Indianapolis and Fort Campbell, Ky

Marlz, thanks for this. I actually watched the “performance” and was shocked. What a bunch of losers. I agree with the author that PeePaw looked and sounded like a robot. Totally boring. Gary Johnson, Glen Greenwald’s possible candidate was just plan weird. Herman Cain got the loudest applause lines because he is a black man who spent most of his time making fun of the president.

My head is SWIMMING…I can walk and chew gum at the same time, but not like this president. HOW DOES HE DO IT?!?!?!?! I do not think they could pay me enough to do what he does!! AND if he takes a break which is few the idiots (pardon my language) complain!

Thanks for all your hard work yesterday, Chipsticks.

My President looks five years younger since last weekend — wonderful to see. And yes, he and FLOTUS need a room, lol. Hope they are able to really relax this weekend.

It’s been quite the week, one for the ages. So lucky to be alive at this time in history, and I’m enjoying every day of this fabulous Presidency.

    Another must read!

    http://www.nationaljournal.com/columns/vantage-point/obama-s-war-against-al-qaida-20110505

“Ever so gingerly, even as they praised President Obama’s success against Osama bin Laden, some former senior Bush administration officials have sought to take a little credit for the mission themselves. Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, interviewed by MSNBC this week, even called the operation “a good story for continuity across two presidencies.”

That assessment couldn’t be further from the truth. Behind Obama’s takedown of the Qaida leader this week lies a profound discontinuity between administrations—a major strategic shift in how to deal with terrorists. From his first great public moment when, as a state senator, he called Iraq a “dumb war,” Obama indicated that he thought that George W. Bush had badly misconceived the challenge of 9/11. And very quickly upon taking office as president, Obama reoriented the war back to where, in the view of many experts, it always belonged. He discarded the idea of a “global war on terror” that conflated all terror threats from al-Qaida to Hamas to Hezbollah. Obama replaced it with a covert, laserlike focus on al-Qaida and its spawn.”

Excellent – I’m still reeling from Condi’s takedown by Lawrence O’Donnell. Clearly showed why the country ended up where it did under her leadership as SOS and National Security Advisor. She’s a disaster. And she completely lost it, screeching personal attacks against O’Donnell, instead of answering the questions. The people from that administraiton simply cannot admit that they were wrong, and misguided. I can’t believe she tried to equate Libya and Iraq – and she was not even sorry about losing 4500 American soldiers and wounding 40,000 others – for their oil piracy. She’s disgusting. To see them trying to imply that they had a hand in this capture and take down of OBL is pathetic – I even saw an article in the NY Times this morning about some mission in 2007 which would have carpet bombed Afghanistan because of some “rumour” of OBL in the vicinity – they are grasping at straws. They have no dignity, they have no shame.

I don’t know why no one asks – what does Saddam Hussein have to do with 9/11? NOTHING. WMD had nothing to do with 9/11. What ever was needed to make a WMD, the previous administrations probably sold it to him. Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. Our enemy was OBL and Al Qaeda. The war in Iraq and Saddam Hussein was all personal and probably financial for the Bush family.

Ah Chipsticks, from the look on POTUS face and the look on Col Van Ovost face, your caption could fit perfectly! And the unrestrained smiles and looks of pure happiness on the faces in the crowd is heart-warming to see. Makes me swell up with PRIDE!

Love the pictures. Seeing excitement of the crowd means so much to me.

Every photo of POTUS and Col Van Ovost, they are laughing. I can’t remember seeing a photo or video of them when they don’t smile or laugh.

I missed that, but they look like they are patiently awaiting his arrival. Having been in the room waiting for the POTUS I wonder how long they’ve been standing.

I saw it Fred! Once again POTUS gave a great rousing speech and he had a couple of double over laughs too! VP Biden was FIRED UP too! I’m so proud of our current Administration – OBAMA/BIDEN 2012! I can’t wait for Chipsticks to return and upload the video. I never tire of seeing POTUS in his element – talking to the American people.

I’m always curious about the Air Force Officers who walk with the president to Air Force One and the other soldiers, sailors, and marines who salute him coming and going on Marine One. Who are they? How/why were they chosen? What do their duties entail? Does anyone know or know where I can find the infortmation? WhiteHouse.gov. had a nice video awhile back about the Marines who stand outside of the oval office that was very informative. Anything similar to this floating around somewhere? Thanks.

I see the President arrives back to the White House just in time for dinner with Michelle and the girls. That’s good.
